I have loved my 06 plate, 1.7 cdti sxi since i bought it, it had a mere 5k miles on the clock. Then suddenly, yesterday, my turbo blew...a very expensive repair for a car that has only just done 22k miles. Am appalled at the turbo going on car vehicle with such low mileage...And I am no girl racer in it either...Has anyone else had the same happen to them? or am i just the unlucky one...not leaning towards any recommendation for this car now!!!
Would love to know if this is normal

Reliable and economical; mine gives around 50mpg. The interior is comfortable and practical but lacks refinement. A nice, economical car but better as an economical run about than for high mileage driving (which is what I do).

Vauxhall Astra 1998 1686cc diesel LS td Vauxhall engine- in general I like my car a lot I don ' t mind that it is slow and has a dull interior it reminds me of the Alfa sud a little on the outside (loved them) - my car has 136,000 miles on clock I get 49 average to gallon by turning down pump adjustment (using BP Ultimate diesel) I want to keep mine as long as it runs- that ' s just me this car might not be to everyone ' s taste.

how did you turn the pump down where is the screw to?

Might buy a 1.7 cdti Astra van either 59 plate or 60 plate ex BT. Should be well looked after for about £5000. Should I buy one or go for the 1.9 instead? What should I look for if I view it? Thanks

Recently used vegetable oil in my Vauxhall Combo 1.7 van which is fine when left to tick over but when the engine is revved smoke is coming from the exhaust. Is this normal?
