After being attracted to open a business saving accout with Bank of Scotland with a reasonable interest rate, some 9 months later we realised no interest was shown on monthly statements.
On phoning Bank of Scotland we were informed the interest rate had fallen to ZERO. on questioning why we were not informed they said they had no facility to inform me .On requesting the account be immediatly closed and monies transferred we were informed the Safety security fob had expired - no facility to inform and renew !!!!!

I these turbulent times I would bet the BOS still has facilities to pay

In the last 6 months I have experienced terrible problems with our Bank of Scotland business account. At present we are involved in legal action with the bank for withholding funds. We have a very health balance and the bank are doing everything they can to prevent us from accessing our money. This has left us in a position where we are struggling to pay staff and meet our obligations. It would appear that at the current rate our business will not exist by the time the legal matters have been re ...

Bank of Scotland is the best business banking out the lot. Their staff are always fantastic over the telephone, very happy to help with anything. Paying in at a Halifax branch is not ideal but its not as bad as some people are mentioning on this website.
Internet banking is fantastic, their security procedures including their "token code" is a superb idea.

Who thought of those ridiculous plastic bags to pay the money in? You end up with a plastic slip that you have to staple to your paying in book nightmare when its getting full.
Have taken away your business banking manager only to be given about 100 others never the same person twice.
Would swap tomorrow if I thought I would get a bank that actually delivers what it says.

I've banked with them only 3 months and am utterly disillusioned. Paying in involves a trip to the town, (no local branches) queue up in Halifax branch behind 20 or thirty people, then get to the counter to be treated like dirt when they see your BOS paying in book. Then they saunter off to get this ridiculous plastic bag that you have to write your sort code, account no, etc on. Then you have to put the cheque/cash inside. They won't touch it! (Why?).
    Ring up customer service - what a joke. I o ...

I tried opening a business bank account with the Bank of Scotland and had a very bad experience. I was asked to provide many different pieces of information in a sequential manner (one after the other). It took over 5.5 weeks to find out that the letter from my account (an account for over 40 years) was not a member of one of there select groups and they could not accept a letter from him. I gave up after 5.5 weeks. They also have not returned my ID documents after 3 weeks!
    The customer service ...

We have had our business account for 4 months, trouble free, we have not gone into arrears, we have not borrowed or missed payments, so as far as I can see we have done everything by the book, then they send a 30 day notice and give no explanation. They say they don't need to.

Terrible service, incompetent staff. HBOS have locked my 3 bank accounts (cashcard, ISA, web savers) after someone deposited money into my account using stolen account details. (they tried to buy a phone from me via gumtree).

16 days later, still locked out of all 3 accounts. HBOS helpline is an oxymoron. staff are clueless. The stated they never recieved any fax from local branch. Staff there insist it has been sent twice.

I did not receive one letter, email or phone call. nothing !

I was with Bank of Scotland for 5 years and for first time I've been asked to provide bank reference which came bad for no reason. I always paid and never went into nagative balances, so this reference was a shock to me and I will change them ASAP.

Abysmal communication. Have tried to open total business account but no one calls back. I have called four times and told someone would be in contact. I Have been told that managers are being told to discourage existing Scottish BOS customers to open this account as it is designed to attract English custom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our Bank of Scotland Business Bank Account 'relationship' manager - is useless he has never contacted us. We tried to expand our business twice in fact and asked for help. How silly of us to ask for help! In return when we eventually got to speak with him on the first occasion it was too late and we had missed the boat. On the second occasion we tried to expand, he never came back to us. We rang again and still no joy. We sourced funding elsewhere. We are now in the process of incorporating and ...

If BOS customer support is this bad then it does not bode well for anyone who opens an account with them.
I Visited the BOS web site to download a brochure to review detail T&Cs for the BOS Total Business bank account. Unfortunately the web based system advised new customers should contact a Branch. As a result, I tried calling the branch to set up an appointment to discuss opening a new account. Sadly I had to do this via a call centre. Before I could make an appointment to talk to the bra ...

No good comments to make about the Bank of Scotland Business Bank Account!

I am looking to change very soon. I have had enough! They need me more than I need them.

I have banked with Bank of Scotland online for many years; both personal and business, and it used to be very good. It all went rapidly down hill after the merger with Halifax. I now have to use two different websites for business and personal banking.

I wanted to move my account from Cater Allen to a Bank of Scotland Business Bank Account, because they didn't have any kind of online banking (telephone only). I already had a BOS account, which was set up fairly painlessly, so I imagined that this would be the easiest option.

I applied to open the account, provided my ID and met the bank manager. Then silence. About one and a half months has gone by. We have left several messages a week on her voicemail (only phone number given was a mobile ...

I have banked with the Bank of Scotland for 25 years. I have a new business that has just started trading. When I applied for a simple business account, it took the Bank of Scotland 3 weeks to contact me, only to then refuse me an account, even though I have no adverse credit and did not want any credit from the Bank of Scotland. The banks failure to open my account has cost my small business money and reputation.
