We waited over month and half! My business partner already had a account and needed upgrade. I had to go to bank twice to prove my address , name etc. i spent there two hours , 4 different people told me different things, stressfull ! I would not recommend at all… Read Full Review

Made an application online for a basic business bank account. Waited 10 days for a decision only to receive an email saying to call them... unfortunately they're only open between 9-5 during which time I'm at work so had to wait a week to call them on my day off... only to be told that I need a telephone appointment with a business banking advisor to 'review' the application, the first appointment is in 1 week. “Does HSBC really want new customers?”

I made an application for a new business account on line, the web site advised 3 to 5 working days for a decision. After 10 I received an email asking me to ring an 0845 number to complete the process. I did this for a week – every day several times but just got to listen to very very poor quality music for periods of up to 30 minutes when I would give up. Applied for a business account online as suggested by the bank tat its quicker & easier. After many calls & many visits to my local branch after nearly 40 days we have got as far as to that all documentation is showing up to date & now since last week awaiting a decision. “HSBC Appalling, and treats all customers like criminals”

I've been with HSBC for over 25 yrs now. I have a personal account, a business account and a overseas account. I tried opening an international currency account as my business is now international - my clients in SE Asia, Middle East, US. I don't have a massive turnover, it's fairly modest, but not small. “Not interested in new customers”

Applying for and setting up a HSBC Card has been near impossible, with the application process taking around a month. Their email notification system is backwards - you log in online to check where the status is, which then triggers and email to tell you to log in online. Dealing with customer service on the phone was just as difficult. This looks like a false entry. In what way was it helpful? What did you require them to do? How can you say they are value for money - they charge you to have a large cash sum in their bank and pay little interest lol

“Avoid HSBC at all costs for business and personal banking”

HSBC are impossible to deal with face to face, they keep changing my 'relationship manager'. Keep in mind that I should be a top customer, I have been with them since it was Midland Bank and regularly put six figures through each year. HSBC are hard to deal with on the phone and have no started charging for basic telephone banking. HSBS are impossible to deal with online, their apps for ipad and iPhone do not work. i agree .40 YEARS OF BANKING PRIVATE AND BUSINESS
AND NOW despite bank fees on business acc and £3.50 charge to pay acounts via telephone because i am away from the office without my 'keypad' disgusting.. closing all the accounts this week

“Unreasonable bank fees for small business users”

So now we have to pay a monthly fee to support their useless service. Followed by multiple payments for what used to be free payments into the account (You would think they would be happy to see you put you money in?! Not bill you for the privilege!!! Idiots) . During various (!) chat contacts/calls with HSBC the situation of the company has been explained (in detail!). Namely, a UK limited owned by foreign shareholders and with foreign directors. It takes 1 week between before HSBC staff action any documents, respond or send out any documents, contrary to what they told me or say. “HSBC charge more”

HSBC used to have a free business bank account for small businesses. It was a nice gesture for the many businesses - like mine - that make a healthy but modest profit every year. As long as you managed it online, then most transactions were free. After all - they make a stinking profit by holding the money and handing out 0% interest and then passing over vast penalties if you go overdrawn. I was sold a business bank account free for 6 months then no fees after that as long as I met a set of criteria. Guess what? My six months is up and I have just received a letter stating in order "to make it easier for me to manage my costs" a monthly fee is being imposed. I currently have no costs! Yes we all know banks can amend their terms and conditions but signing people up effectively under false pretenses is not good business practice Goodbye HSBC I will be taking my £150,000 elsewhere… Read Full Review
