Good Points: Menu changed fortnightly. Tasteful contemporary decor. Intimate yet relaxed atmosphere.
Bad Points: Very limited vegitarian choice (normally just one main).
General comments: Delfina Studio Cafe - First impressions are good, the d cor is superb - sort of an art gallery with a contemporary dining room in it. All the tables are spaced quite far apart too so that it still feels intimate and private.
From the greeting at the door right the way through your meal the service is friendly, helpful and efficient.
I had chargrilled lamb on a bed of smashed potatoes, which was excellent. A flawless cut, perfectly cooked with tarragon and mustard. My partner had the vegetarian option, which was courgette pancakes with buffalo mozzarella that she enjoyed too. If I was being picky and had to chose a downside to the food, I would say that the style of Delfina is to use quite strong flavours, which means that you have to take care with your side dishes so that you don't confuse the effect of your main. For example the haricot verts were in a lime and coriander sauce that could cause some dishes to taste distinctly curry-like. Still, a little care when ordering and there's no problem at all.
The wine is very reasonable too with a good Pinot Grigio at under £15.
I would heartily recommend the Delfina and I will most definitely be heading back regularly, it's a great restaurant offering excellent value and friendly service.
