Excellent engine from Yamaha (XTZ 660) five valve single. Strong and unbreakable.
Italian front forks (Marzocci), WhitePower rear shock.... superb handling... you can throw this around on country roads and blast through traffic with one of the easiest handling bikes on the road.
Great riding position. Very high in the saddle... again brilliant on country roads and in traffic... eye level same as big SUV.
Stainless steel complete exhaust/silencer as standard fitting!
Cheap insurance... (read more)

Excellent bike for twisty back roads and navigating the city with beat up roads. I'd buy another....and put some light parts on her with some strict dirt shoes. Go play on the trails.... (read more)

This is a great bike and one of the best kept secrets on the motorcycle market. If you are after an off road style machine with an excellent pedigree, which is so apparent when you look at the list of manufacturers of the parts that make up this bike, you will not be disappointed. It certainly turns heads and gets other bikers talking! (read more)

Bearco11's Response to Baghira's Review

I used to own an MZ Baghira Street Moto, and I sold it because I thought I needed something else. It was such an awesome bike! Fun as hell to ride, easy to start, it looked cool, and it sounded great with the after market pipe. What was I thinking? Now I surf the web trying to find one, and there aren't any!

The MZ Baghira Street Moto starts on the button every time . Its a collection of proprietry high quality kit all bolted together to form a deceptively high quality package . Its not a full on supermoto , its far too heavy and doesn't have the right power to weight ratio but it looks a bit like one . Its real fun to ride and extremely manageable. Its as lightweight as most street bikes and doesn't have the quirky temperament as more competition derived machinery . Does what it says on the tin... (read more)

Some people find the Baghira's looks a bit unconventional, others prefer to stick with hardware from the 'big-four'. I find MuZ a refreshing contribution from the European bike manufacturing industry and still think wistfully of bikes like the lamented Gilera Nordwest, the RC600, Aprilia Tuareg 600 and similar stuff. At a time when Japanese offerings are growing more and more ungainly and expensive and when much-loved tried and tested bikes (such as the XT-600, the Dominator, XR-650, KLR 650, DR 650) are being ditched in favour of abominable replacements, the Baghira comes across as a realistically priced, stylish and streamlined design sporting high-quality parts hooked up to a 'bulletproof' engine and bolted together by solid German workmanship that the Japanese can only dream of emulating.
