“Price hike”

Arriva are useless, the have just hiked the prices here by withdrawing return tickets. Effectively this means my usual journey to town has gone up by £1.50. They are generally unreliable and many of their drivers are rude (not all, but most..). Terrible service and value for money....

“Sick and tiered of them already”

I recently started using the arriva bus service, if you can call it a service; More like a nuisance, and inconvenience. I mainly use the 22 and 32 busses to go to Mater Dai Hospital which run late and inconsistently. My advice to anyone (especially tourists) is that in order to use arriva busses you need to be stupid and patient. Stupid because the way the routs are planed seems like they where done over night. I take the 800 and 850 services; on the whole, the service has been pretty shocking; buses not bothering to turn up at all, or if they do, they're often very late; buses being parked and engines left running, with the driver then gradually sauntering up to the bus, to take charge of his little kingdom and all the paying plebs who can wait for His Lordship to let them on. “Malta Arriva in chaos”

We have just returned from two weeks in Malta, our fifth visit in six years (thankfully, as it happens, we did not visit last year). Malta has replaced a major tourist attraction (albeit a polluting one but which could have been made more environmentally friendly) which worked well most of the time, with a vastly inferior bus service - Arriva. “Didn't stop”

Hi, I use to go on my work on x3 daily from Leicester , today at 7:55 x3 arrives at stop EB , Charles street and I give a clear signal to driver for stop. He gives indicator towards the stop, then I take out my mobile to show the ticket. but driver didn't stop there was one more passenger waiting for the same. “Useless”

My 3 children rely on 2 Arriva buses to get to and from school each day. Quite often, the first will not arrive on time, meaning they miss their connection to school, resulting in late marks with the school despite getting up at 6.30 every morning, to be at school for 8.45. I am paying £36 per week for 3 weekly savers, for a bus service that amounts to little more than a third world cattle truck. During the holidays, we all used to go in town at a cost of £6. This is ridiculous. There are elements of my job that I don't like and I have to deal with difficult people on a daily basis. This never affects my manners and I am always polite and courteous. I find it very hard to believe that nobody ever says thank you to you, I always thank the driver as I leave the bus and so do the majority of the people around me.

Lotcoleman you took the words right out of my mouth.Even when im late for work due to a chain of late buses i get three in the morning there and the same three back and have done for two years! out of them two years i doubt even a months worth have been smooth runs. Nothing can justify waiting up to a hour for a 10-15 minute service, i get up at 4:30 to try and get to work for 8. Unfortunetly there are many public people who are very rude but there are many that are not... i personally always thank the drivers for making me late for work.....

Stop blaming the public, its drivers with your attitude that give the rest of us a bad name.

The real problem is management cutting running times, vehicle maintenance and driver training (in the rare event that they even bother with that) to a bare minimum (while stretching working hours as much as they can get away with) so that they can keep costs down.

Of course, they will blame the economy and cuts in government funding for this, but the fact is if they stopped pursuing short-term profits and actually invested in providing a good service (which a huge company like Arriva can surely afford to do), enough people would actually use it to turn a good profit.

It is NOT the public's fault that we don't have the resources to give them the service they need. Stop treating them as though it is.

“What a FARCE ”

Having just returned from Malta, I have emailed complaints to Arriva Malta about the dreadful bus services we encountered. Just returned from Malta after a very frustrating break. On average lost FOUR HOURS every day to busses.They do not turn up on time, the ten minute services are more like hourly by which time they are so full you cannot get on.Some routes don't appear to have any busses running at all despite the schedules and time tables.Missed a 32 in Valletta just before 5pm, not sure if it left early or was the 4.50 running late. Very true, as another Maltese resident who is disgusted with the service offered by Arriva on our Islands which is also affecting tourism as many tourists who travel by bus are now forced to wait hours on the bus stops for a bus which turns up late or not at all. Arriva in Malta also operates shoddy Buses made in China which are not suitable for the extreme heat we have here in Malta, reports of buses overheating ort stopping or without working airconditioners are already abounding and this after two months in operation. Arriva also expects to run a public bus service for a whole country with just over half the buses we had before, no wonder Malta is in such a mess with congested roads as everyone is using their own car as they cannot rely on the Arriva buses.

My children use the school bus services in Hertfordshire . There are soooo many bad things that i just simply can't write it all as it makes me so angry . Late buses all the time . Arriva North East is one of the most appalling bus companies I have ever used and I've lived and travelled in many developing countries as well as the UK. I know exactly how you feel about Arriva. They are the worst company in the Transport world. I can understand why they still have course to operate. Its all the backhanders to the Councils and Traffic Commissioners. CORRUPTION.

The college has contracts with different bus companies and around 100 buses arrive in the morning and leave the college in the evening. Only TWO of these buses are Ariva. Arriva are the worse travel service I have ever used. Like a lot of unsatisfied customers, forced into paying over-the-odds for their shoddy service, it's hard to find a place to start. I have used many bus companies in my time but arriva has to be the worst, I have made many complaints but I'll tell you about my latest. I work in retail as do many people in the city of leicester. ARRIVA. Well, now, this company is the worst bus company in the world. Now the Germans have got it, will things get better. We can but hope. I do sympathise with the drivers, some of them are really nice. But there are some awful ones too. In Co Durham, we have a very poor service with sub standard buses that really should be on the scrap heap. In 2010 no bus should operate with steps. Arriva are the only service from leicester city to countesthorpe,(bus 85) normally late, but all too often fails to show at all!! not good when you need to get home with your 9 mth old baby, and you end up with getting as far as blaby (bus 84), then face a 20 min walk? as far as providing a service, arriva falls far short of the minimum standards expected by a fare paying passenger....

To be fair , the services they provide in Southend are fairly good, and the drivers aren't as rude as the guys on First. Plus, the buses are more regular than First. My only real complaint is that they don't run any services to Wakering after 20:10, unless you wait for the late bus that doesn't stop in Southend until around 22:00. ...

I first started using the ARRIVA bus service 69/70 from Leighton Buzzard to Luton in early 2009 when my car was off the road - since then I have used the service on a daily basis only because it's cheaper than using the car. Hmmm... sensing a lot of hatred. Arriva London aren't bad, the buses are looked after well, and, well all London bus drivers have their moments. But I blame the traffic and the poor roads that Transport for London haven't maintained.

<br/>Arriva is being taken over by Deutsche Bahn (a German firm) by 20th August, though the Arriva name will stay. I can't answer for services in Luton, but in those areas no matter what bus firm, I'd stick to my car. If you are after a car, AVOID ACF car finance (read my review :) )

Arriva run their buses on a purely commercial basis and they have no competition. Customers can't decide to stop using Arriva and use another local bus company because there aren't any to use. This means that Arriva can ignore customer complaints - which they do. They are running ancient stock which often breaks down. They are rarely on time and sometimes don't appear at all. Perhaps the Competition Commission should look into their heartless monopoly and the contempt that they show for their paying...

I live in Leicester near Queens Road which is serviced by 2 Arriva buses, the 44 and the 44A. According to Ariva's time table, each of these services runs at 20 minute intervals from town at peak times. One at 01, 21, 41 and the other at 11, 31, 51. So, I shouldn't have to wait more than 10 minutes ofr a bus home. In practice, a wait of 25 minutes is not unusual - 15 minutes is certainly average and about a third of the time a 44 and 44A arrive at the same time. The journey of abot 1.5 miles costs...

to be honest im unsure were to start..i use this bus company twice a day to get to work and from work..i live in hartlepool and work in trimdon,i use the num-33 bus which is getting worse & worse for turning up.over & over again it fails to turn up so not only do i catch cold i lose a days wages aswell,its bad enough it runs hourly.this bus company is a disgrace they have some lovely drivers bus the company itself are a joke.to top it off when you call for advice etc the staff on the other end speak...
