Living in the Stratford upon Avon district, in Shipston on Stour, I have no other alternative to get to where I need to (Banbury). This therefore means that I use the company frequently. The buses, for a start are of an extremely poor quality. It is either an old, dirty, noisy Solo or a massive, old, dirty, smelly double decked bus which are far too large/high for the single lane low tree route in which they are subjected to. Why have bus stops when the bus just sails past without stopping, ignoring passengers signalling the bus to stop. As in the case of the 22.58 S1 stagecoach service into Oxford tonight at the Oxford Road stop in Farmoor. I had been waiting for at least 5 mins and the bus came around the bend from Eynsham at quite a speed - completely ignoring the bus stop and me! “X5 Oxford to Cambridge service”

First I Will describe the positives. The busses are reliable most of the time and are comfortable and warm. However don't expect the plug sockets to work, they never do! The Wifi is also unreliable and I can never connect properly when using my devices. Message to Stagecoach would be get every plug socket working and sort out the wifi on the X5 bus. This is not acceptable considering the pride themselves with these services. Also very expensive. (read more)

The buses operated by Stagecoach in north Devon and Gloucestershire are very mixed, a lot of the buses look as they need a deep clean inside, these are particularly notable in those operating out of Gloucester in to the Forest of Dean. It is very evident that a lot of these vehicles are old and are struggling with maintenance problems, but notably the standard of hygiene is poor, the seatrs are old and visibly dirty as are the floors. “Just too expensive”

Having recently moved to Hattersley from Huddersfield, I am shocked at the price of busses in the area. My husband and I share a car, so buying a weekly rider is not cost effective for us, but single tickets from Hattersley to Hyde on the 201 cost a BOMB! Making a similar journey on the bus in Huddersfield to run an errand and save parking fees was always a sensible idea, with a return fare available from our village to Huddersfield town centre available at £2 off peak. I think it would be a good idea for Stagecoach to regularly drug test their drivers and/or maybe make sure they're mentally sound of mind to actually work with the public. In my case yesterday; I boarded the bus after work with my girlfriend and on receiving my change said 'cheers' and walked to my seat. The driver turned round and started shouting at me saying 'I'm sorry, what's that'. I walked back to him and asked him what the problem was. To which he replied 'Don't get fecking smart... Normally a great service but some of the bus drivers are very aggressive! Sometimes they swear and once someone by accident, pressed the button. This has happened before when people think that the bus is nearing their stop when it isn't. The bus pulled over and the doors opened. Instead of just closing the doors and continuing to drive, this bus driver put his feet up on the dashboard and started to roll a cigarette! The bus I regularly take is from Rye Road Guestling (at Martineau Lane) While the majority of the buses arrive on time or just after. I have reason to complain that certain buses to make up time are coming past the stops from The White Hart Guestling too early. The bus schedule printed on the stop where I get on states that the Mon - Sat service times are: Guestling, White Hart 07 minutes past the hour, there is a bus stop in between so 3 minutes later would be the time I would expect to see... Today at 17:57 with bus number 40 from Lancaster Station to Catterall (16 Feb 2013) I observed the bus driver fail to stop for an elderly lady who had just approached the bus stop, and clearly waved for the bus to stop, but the lady was slightly away from the designated stand. Waiting for the 43 to come near the airport at 20:45 we was there at 20:38 it just didnt turn up up >.< Such an important route to. I asked the bus driver of the next bus(who was late) "what happened to the the 20:45?" His response was "I couldn't tell you mate". The 11A Altrincham to Cheadle bus is either always late or doesn't turn up at all. Meanwhile the No 11 which takes 55 minutes to get to my destination because it goes all round the word runs every few minutes, despite most of them being empty. “Passed a disabled child with her hand out in sleet ”

This is the fourth time the Pontefract to Barnsley bus has passed my disabled child, standing at her bus stop, with her arm out. The driver was speeding so couldn't be bothered to stop. It was sleeting and she had to wait 50 minutes for the next bus, which was late. She was by then freezing, and desperate for the toilet, which exacerbates symptoms of her disability. The bus is always late and prices change on a daily basis. (read more)

After having waited an hour and a half of waiting in the freezing cold for the bus to come so that I could get to work, I gave up and went home. There was not another bus for another two hours and so I arrived at work two hours late leaving me with little time to get everything done and a lot of chaos. The last couple of weeks, due to the adverse weather, I fully understand they had to adjust the service of route 26 in Stroud to avoid dangers the snow might cause. Terrible service, I gave up and went home after waiting for more than an hour carrying 20 pounds worth of gear in the pitch black and cold weather. My training starts at 8.00 I arrived there at 7-15, I waited till 8-20 and guess what? No bus. I live in the centre of the city so there should be no excuse for this shambles of an organisation. I regularly use the x5 or my school bus which happens to be stagecoach, they're fine, however the Bicester 8, is sometimes late, granted traffic may be an issue sometimes, but today, was different, today was a horrible and frightening experience which reduced a 17 year old girl to tears, just before a vital a level exam. The coach in a month would atleast be 15 times late. Today and yesterday the coach didnt bother showing up at 07:30 so i had to catch the 08:00 waiting in the cold for 40 minutes. always late for work, if you rely on public transport just find a job elsewhere closer to home or buy a car or even hitchhike. £80.00 for such a s*it service. None of the x16 drivers know which stops theyre meant to stop at. A couple of weeks ago i was waiting for the x16 in hamilton a couple of stops after the bus station. Hastings buses are rarely on time, the majority of the buses either leave the stop early or don't arrive well past their due time. The drivers are unhelpful and rude, and will go out of their way to make sure you don't catch your bus; where some who were customer friendly might wait for someone running towards their bus, the drivers will leave as quickly if they can; even if the bus isn't due to leave the stop for several minutes. The Stagecoach bus service here (in Gloucestershire) is terrible. The buses theselves are old, seldom arrive on time, they break down regularly (especially in hot weather) and the drivers are often surly. I've had the misfortune to use Stagecoach buses in other parts of the country too, and how they manage to keep their contracts is beyond me. Complete rubbish (read more)

The bus drivers get £20 from stagecoach for them to make up their own change. So if they can go to a bank or arrange change by other means , what is stopping you? If you expect change from a £20 note and other thoughtless people do like wise, then the driver has no change left after the first person that tenders a £20 note. perhaps you should find out the facts before you try to loose someone their job.

The Stagecoach 142/42/142/43 routes loose about 1 in 3 buses, no matter the day or time. I'm often waiting 40 minuets at Piccadilly for a bus that is meant to be here every 10. And on sundays forget it, I often have to wait an hour to get one going into the city. Travel time to go just 8 miles is often and hour and a half: WTF. I moved to Cambridge from Toronto. I did not have high expectations from this bus service provider since I knew that it was running a smaller town, but I did not expect the service to be as horrible as it is. ....I feel your pain! I am Epileptic and work, so have no other option than to use a bus service. I also live in a small village outside of Banbury, where I knew from the onset the bus was not going to be as frequent as I was used to, BUT I thought I could rely on them to Turn Up! I have just finished my 3rd Complaint to Stage Coach - nearly pen pals now! Requesting that I be reimbursed for my taxi fair I had to (yet again) fork out for to get me to work on time. They are not even that cheap and the only bus service I know, where I am not allowed to use my Disabled Bus Pass before 9am! I feel they are not a service, as that is someone you can rely on to get you from A to B without worrying, maybe getting to B might be asking too much from them!!!

I had an interview this morning. A very important appointment for me, obviously. And I left home one hour early, even if I had plenty of time to catch a bus and arrive on time in about half an hour. If the bus was on time. But it wasn't, as usual. That's why I left so early, because I can never rely on the buses. This morning was even worst than usual. Stagecoach buses in Hastings are by far the worst bus service I have ever had the displeasure to use. The cost of using this horrendous service just adds insult to injury. A recent 'update' of the buses involved replacing the entire fleet with buses that were half the size of the original ones, and then raising the ticket prices. I cannot understand how smaller buses, which were always packed with people to the point that the drivers would simply not stop to pick people up was a good idea?... (read more)

Basingstoke and the surrounding areas has one of the best bus services you could imagine. Yes the buses are mainly ageing, but they are well looked after and turn up clean in the morning. Not so clean by midday but its us that makes them that way. The country services to Newbury, Alton, Liphook and Odiham are almost always on time and driven by mostly happy friendly drivers who think nothing of helping their passengers in whatever way they can. I used to be a regular user of the X18 bus from Ebbw Vale to Newport. The drivers were generally friendly, however the timekeeping of the service was questionable. My main gripe about the service was that the bus took AGES to get from one end of the route to the other. The journey time was 1 hour 25 minutes for a 20-mile journey, when the same journey could be driven in less than half of that time. Stagecoach in Bedford - you can probably walk across town quicker. The buses are never on time or will skip services out. This isn't so much of a problem on the services that run every 10 minutes but the half an hour services this seems to happen all the time. The timetables will change without being updated at the actual stops?! The longest routes seem to get the smallest buses that are completely packed. where will i start, there buses are always late, but i can understand if there is large amount of passengers or icey roads which there is very often in Drumndrochit, i shouldn't have to complaint to stagecoach to get a bus on time. some drivers are nice (very few) but maot of them are not and their "pricing structure" (oh god) on one bus (919 or 917) it would cost me £4.20 to get from Drumndrochit to Inverness but if i got a 17 or 19 bus it would cost me £1.90 (using youth discount card).... Stagecoach Manchester. Expensive + dirty. But my main problem is the way I get thrown about. They seem to forget, that they have the bus full of passengers. They accelerate so much for very short distances, that they have to break down, so everybody gets thrown forward. I find it quite dangerous especially, when the bus is very full. Excellent bus driver one of the politest drivers I have seen yet welcomed me on board and used manners instead of the usual urghh you get. He also allowed me to board for 80p which is the fair I should pay but some bus drivers seem to want me to pay more. Where does one begin, Stagecoach is unreliable, 50% of their drivers are discourteous, in summer their buses are swelteringly hot and in winter they are freezing cold. They think nothing to leaving you stood at a bus stop in the rain while they turn up 30-40 minutes late, and don't bother complaining because they tell you that will send out a complaints form which will never turn up.
You can stand in the bus station in barnsley on a sunday, anxious to get on the bus to work that is stood...

i live in the worthing and have 3 kids i can say that they give these free bus passes to the oldies and nothing for parents.they are so expensive i will not use them any more for instant if i want to go by bus into town in costs me 12 pounds .i asked why they are soooo expensive to the bus driver he replied that we have alot of pensioners in worthing and the company simply does not want youth on the bus.(and we are ment to respect our elders) sorry but the youth our our future i use trains... Here in Fleet, Hants Stagecoach have taken over "Fleet Buzz" and seem to have abandoned any sort of maintenance. All sorts of vehicles are used, often unmarked or loaned from other companies. Hopefully they meet road safety standards.
