Stagecoach: Had an accident with a stagecoach bus in Oxford a couple of weeks ago. The bus driver refused to give me her details (Name, Insurance, etc) and obviously I went to the police to report it afterwards. Two weeks on I got a call from the police that they had to close the case, the bus driver told them "that she couldn't understand what I was saying because of my poor English and that she therefore didn't give me her details."
Well, I am not native to this country but I am sure I can just about ask for someones insurance details after living, studying and working here for six years...
However, this incredible lie seems to have worked. The police filed the case and that is it.
Not much left to say I guess.
So be aware, if you are a foreigner and see a Stagecoach bus in the Oxford to Swindon area, you might find a red haired femal bus driver who doesn't like your Polish or German accent and then just drives into your car. It's Stagecoach, they can do this without getting into trouble...
I'll give them 5 stars for lying and another 5 for being racist.

Stagecoach arnt the worst bus company in the world in Bedford but they could do alot better, io mean what heppened to discount student fairs and where the hell are the sunday buses get that and I will be happy. I work rota and use the bus to get to work and well on a sunday I have to be at work 2 hours early jsut to be on time because the buses are absoltuely hopeless, there are no local buses and the country are 1 every 3 hours not good as far as im concerned. Today is 17.07.09. This is more on a journey I did yesterday. Oxford Tube 10am Gloc Gn 1pm Marble Arch. The Stagecoach Bus driver missed the diversion turn at Baker St. He did an eyes heavenward or shook his head when I said I didn't drive at this point. He also said something about being confused by a sign for the previous st. The result was travelling all the way to Kings Cross, having to ask a local bus driver where he could turn and then travelling all the way back again. This took ages plus ...

Today-16.7.09-the Oxford Tube I was on was diverted. The driver didn't know the route and missed the turning at Baker St-a one way street that I amsure was clearly signposted as one way. My journey was 10am Oxford Gloc green to Marble Arch 1pm approx. Shouldn't Stagecoach Bus drivers have clear maps of possible diversions that they can study at their route's bus stops if need be. I was attempting to give him directions and found him very unpleasant when he missed the Baker St turn. That it was o ...

I've used the stagecoach bus service from Glasgow Buchanan Street to Edinburgh twice in the last year. On both occasions I encountered an ubelievable level of rudeness from the staff.

Last year, on arriving from Glasgow airport, my bag of duty free was literally snatched out of my hand by a Stagecoach employee before being put into the trunk - 'you cannae take that on ma bus' he bawled 'if ye take it on ma bus you are breaking the law and we can have ye arrested'

Yesterday I boarded the Glas ...

I'm a carer so am out on the buses regularly with the people I support. Stagecoach is the main bus service for the area and isn't doing too bad in my view. It's the drivers that make an individual journey bad or good.

Stagecoach is usually a reasonable service usually no more than ten or 15 minutes late, could do with being a little more reliable though as there are too many occasions when the buses do not turn up at all. Also the website isnt brilliant.

In my experience they were completely useless. I spent about £3.00 on tickets and I just ended back where I started they over charged me and I didn't want to go the place they put on my ticket.

Some drivers can be unfriendly and difficult to communicate with. Which is horrible because there's once I gave a twenty pound for a day rider, suppose to cost 3.30. I was given back 1.70. It took ages to explain this to him.
Another thing, I ordered my unirider 2 weeks before it ' s suppose to start, 2 month later, I still haven ' t got my ticket. Been calling almost everyday and staff said they'll send it by special delivery again and again.

The bus service i used to have to catch every day was absolutely appalling, buses running every hour (if i was lucky) rude drivers who regularly drove past me, buses all at least 10 years old and very uncomfortable. I'm glad i can drive now, it's a lot easier and probably cheaper as Stagecoach's prices seem to go up every month.

What makes me so mad is that the government is encouraging people to ditch their cars and catch public transport, but to be quite honest my experience in catching the bus in the last two weeks is making me want to buy a car, this way at least I will get to work on time.

Stagecoach Bus' can be very dirty and some of the bus drivers have been rude. Never arrives on time, even on time, the bus I regularly use departs 5 or 10 minutes late every day.

Around Bedford the Stagecoach bus service is generally good, buses on time and clean and well maintained, the only problem is lack of bus shelters, for example by Bedford town football club which is exposed to the elements has no bus shelters on either side of the road.
Slightly of topic, I won't buy my Stagecoach tickets on-line, I paid £39 for a Megarider ticket on the 4th August 2008, now it is the 16th August 2008 and I still have not recieved the ticket.

I recently travelled on the 14th August to Inverness from Golspie on a day return when I went to get bus on return I was refused entry to bus as I did not have booked seat but when I went to booking office I was told you can not book seat on a day return ticket and was told I would have to wait to see if there would be any spare seats. Which if there was not any seats, would have to wait another 2hrs for bus and only if there was a seat I could get on bus. I don't rate this been very reliable se ...

Fairly Clean. Some drivers are polite and pleasant. Gets you from A to B in good condition. Not expensive. Mess not always cleaned up from bus.
Ok value for money but could be cleaner.

I think that stagecoach in South Wales runs a very good and clean service. The drivers are very friendly and helpful. The bad points must be the highliner coaches on routes X3 and X4. The buses are really old and a nuisance to O.A.P's and mothers due to the steps. Time for a change stagecoach. Overall I am really happy with the service. Sundays are a nightmare as there is hardly any buses and were there are buses they go to places you don't want to go to.

I'm sick and tired of the bus serves in the area I live, I remember when I broke my ankle and I couldn't walk and I was stuck at the bus station for an hour and a half. Although now you don't have to wait that long now maybe up to an hour but becauseof those buses I have been late for meetings, college and yes job interviews. And now because the bus prices have gone up again its doing my head in. I mean I am on benefits so doesn't anyone think about us? I mean its like over £10 for a mega ...

Some of the drivers are very ignorant, I was waiting for the bus for 25-35 mins and when the bus turned up 2 people were sat on the bus already so plenty of space and he drove straight passed me. The seats smell. the floors are sticky,

Stagecoach buses are poor quality and have awful suspension. I live at one of the main station stops and regularly a bus will be sitting there past the leaving deadline only for the driver to casually saunter out of their break room 5-10 minutes late with no explanation or apology. Prices are also ridiculous. A 30 minute single journey now costs £5 each almost, as does a Dayrider type ticket. £10 for 2 people to take a short journey!
