“Dont sign up, no customer service help, don't trust them”

Written on: 12/01/2016 by Jaxon438 (1 review written)

We have been advertising with yell.com since July when they told us over 60 people a month were searching for our trade. It was all a pack of lies to get our money and make us sign a 12 month contract that can NOT be changed. We have two lines to our business and as one of them has ceased trading (but we are still paying) we requested the advert be moved for the remainder of the term to our other category. There was no way yell.com were prepared to help. Not even to put us at the bottom of the… Read Full Review

“Watch this space.”

Written on: 15/11/2015 by DHGreenwood (1 review written)

Just got on board with Yell.com/Hibu etc....Small business which needs to get out there somehow situation. Good salesman, good set up generally pretty helpfull. So all good from the campaign figures, there is an interest at least people are clicking (which you get charged for) But no one is actually converting to a phone call to me. So that means either my advice from Yell of how to advertise is wrong or people are finding a result another way. Not sure its all early days. So no work has… Read Full Review

“False sales tactics”

Written on: 25/09/2015 by Rossf56 (1 review written)

It all sounded so good. You'll be on the first page of Google. You'll get lots of traffic. You'll have 20 key words. The reality,I couldn't find my own company but that of simular names would pop up on yell instead! Zero traffic and I mean zero. Out of my 20 key words only 2 brought me to my listing. And all for £600… Read Full Review

I totally agree I have had the same experience I was with them for a year then decided they didn't generate any work so I didn't want to go with them again only to be told that the new year contract had been activated .i have been trying to get this closed but they have took no notice of me .saying I don't want it and I didn't ask for it to be reinstated for another year.but they don't care about customers they are that desperate to get people to go with them they use dirty tactics like red letter and debt collectors mention in all letters you get .i have reported them to trading standards. Do not advertise with yell.com . It should be. HELL.COM

USED TO USE IT FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS UNTIL REALISED PAYING FOR SOMETHING THAT DOES NOT BENEFIT US. REQUESTED ALL COMPANY DETAILS BE REMOVED INCLUDING ALL FREE ADVERTS. BECAUSE OF THIS, COMPANY NAME & CONTACT NUMBER CORRECT BUT ADDRESS IS TOTALLY WRONG. HAVE SPENT UP TO AN HOUR AT A TIME REQUESTING & DEMANDING THAT ALL BE REMOVED-TO MANAGERS (SUPPOSEDLY), STILL WAS NOT DONE SO HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO COMMENCE LEGAL ACTION. “Waste of money !!”

Written on: 07/01/2015 by ProfDenise (1 review written)

I have been advertising with Yell.com (HIBU) for quite a few months in ad words google search. It has been absolutely useless - do not advertise this way with them. it is a complete waste of money. My company - as a Children's Entertainer - Mrs B to F could never be found !!! it doesn't matter when I searched my details never came up. I was paying £67 a month for nothing. When I phoned up and complained they said my site had been clicked on and all my credit was used quickly so that is why i… Read Full Review

Charlotte_Gaskell's Response to ProfDenise's Review

Written on: 12/01/2015

After years of using Google adwords directly last month I agreed to use Yell adwords. I thought that they would be managing my campaigns, copying my existing campaign and tweaking it where necessary. My existing campaign would then be put on hold. In fact they have set up a completely new set of campaigns which bear little relationship to what i have already and I end up completing with myself. I can no longer see what they have set up and am only told how many clicks have gone through. It is appalling. I am currently paying the same amount on google and then yell adwords so end up competing with myself. Horrific. I agree do not advertise with Yell adwords. I am now looking at the legal options for miss selling.

“Useless”

Written on: 10/12/2014 by apParks100 (1 review written)

I'm actually annoyed at the time I've wasted with this joke of a website. If I could give them less than one star I would. It would be more appropriate if instead of a star rating I could post a picture of a steaming **** and a rotting corpse as a rating. That's how bad these dimwits are. Seems like a good idea to list your business on Yell.com and you would imagine it will be straightforward and easy. IT'S NOT. I've never in my life written a review before but they have driven me to this… Read Full Review

“Liars, Very rude and aggressive!!!”

Written on: 30/10/2014 by AprilTennant (1 review written)

Guy from hibu rang me, claiming the call was about our FREE listing and that there would be no charge blah blah blah, later into the call he discovered that we had previously had a hibu paid advert, (which i think is what he was really calling about not realising we terminated) which we terminated as this was mis-sold in the first place, and on discovering this the man got very very shirty, rude and quite aggressive, I advised I would terminate the call and he replied, yes i think we will!!!! Don't know how many times ive complained to yell but you just get ignored bar 1 response from my rep saying has a good will gesture and apologise for there service I would receive vip advertising in two areas worth £500. Anyway rep took my signature and the go live date was 1st October its now 3rd and yell not relying to me and no free ads in yell. Now they are going to lose £2500 from my custom when my contract ends next month. I will spend it on a website instead for half the price and… Read Full Review

“Lies aviod at all costs”

Written on: 08/08/2014 by Shelvingdude (1 review written)

We were sold a PPC service and website by a Hibu rep. Was told we would have £500+vat in the pot for monthly clicks. Our PPC account would be managed by Google and we would get a discounted click rate due to the direct link with Google. Website would be a one off charge of £350.00+vat. Turns out that Hibu take a 40% management fee from the £500.00 leaving you with £300 in the click pot, google do not manage your account its someone from Hibu. You don't get a discounted click rate either… Read Full Review

Perhaps i did not make myself clear. We were told that Hibu pass on £5 million in business to Google. Google would be managing our PPC account and gaining the 'click' money for doing it. If i had known it was someone at Hibu doing it i would not have signed up for the service in the first place.

“Stop Harassing me and my Employees Yell.com/Hibu Business”

Written on: 28/05/2014

Yell.com / Hibu Business contacted me a while ago to enquire whether I was willing to try their services. I promptly told them that as a Marketing Communications Consultant I would really rather not use their paid for services and settle for a free listing only. That was all good and well, however since then I have received about ten phone calls from their aggressive sales consultants who do not let you get a word in edgeways. Three times I was trapped on the phone for over half an hour. I… Read Full Review
