    Good Points:

General comments: The Aquarius Extra does exactly what it says on the tin, i have had this machine for 7 years and NEVER once had to call anyone out to fix it, its seen me through my three children and is on at least tcie to three times a day. Sometimes you get a build up of junk in the tray but easily sorted with a brush, but can't fault this machine and i would definately buy another one if mine ever packs in... in fact i was a bit annoyed its still going as i quite fancied the new one out!

I had this for 1 year and two days and had used it 30 times as i was away a lot. My dryer broke, no satisfactory help from hotpoint. Will never buy another hotpoint product again.

Would not recommend this Hotpoint Washing Machine. Had no end of trouble with this washer dryer, had someone out to it at least three times in the first six months, would not recommend this product.

Good points a quick wash cycle. The bearings on my drum are rumbling and groaning, they have had it. Ridiculous failure, I live on my own, machine use once a week.....

Just after the 12 month warranty expired when it was on spin, it made a real racket. I rang a repair guy who said it was not worth repairing, as the Hotpoint Aquarius Extra WMA48 washing machine is known for this fault, and it would be cheaper to buy a Creda, which he recommended at £225. I will never buy a Hotpoint washer again.

I bought a Hotpoint Aquarius Extra WMA48 washing machine three years ago, and we have had the repair man out eleven times. It is now breaking down on a weekly basis. It is so noisy, my kitchen floor vibrates when it spins, and the machine sounds like a Jumbo Jet is about to land. It is total rubbish! I had a Zanussi washing machine before this one, and I had it for 16 years and never had a repair man out to it. I will never buy Hotpoint again.

2 weeks after the Hotpoint Aquarius Extra WMA48 warranty expired the drum had a problem the fittings inside broke which caused the plastic pieces to block the machine causing it not to drain or spin and my clothes got trapped and were consequently ripped to shreds. I had an engineer out who explained to me that the machine had a design fault. We replaced the parts inside the drum and was recommended not to use a high spin cycle [which was a main reason we purchased it] anyway inspite of only e ...

    Utter, utter rubbish.
Bought our Hotpoint Aquarius about two and a half years ago. Within 4 months we had the aforementioned racket during the spin cycles. It was so bad that you could hear it through 3 closed doors!!!!

Still under warranty so called Hotpoint out and the engineer replaced the drum, also admitting that there have been quite a few problems.

Eighteen months later and the problem is back, only this time we are out of warranty. So I've spoken to an independent engineer who quo ...

I bought my dishwasher from comet 18 months ago. I pulled the dishwasher out as I had spilled some liquid and it had gone under the machine. I was totally shocked to find the back of the machine had all melted though it was still working and washing dishes. My warranty has run out but I phoned Hotpoint to inform them of this serious fire hazard as there is obviously a serious fault with no safety cut out. They do not want to know! They passed me from one person to another and were more concerned ...

We have only had the Hotpoint Aquarius Extra WMA48 washing machine for 12 months and 2 weeks. The guarantee had just expired and then the most awful noise started emanating from the machine whilst on its spin cycle. We have tried to get a qualified person to look at it but we have been told that there is a design fault with this machine in that the equipment which holds the drum in place is faulty, and therefore they cannot guarantee the repair. We have been advised to contact Hotpoint which ...
