We booked last May to fly Manchester to Cork as a family of six on last Friday evening's 20.30pm flight. Came up on screen delayed, more info soon, next info soon etc. Finally flight cancelled without explanation. Conflicting info from BMI, weather in Cork, technical problem with aircraft, although all other flights left Manchester and all other flights from wherever destination into Cork landed. BMI said flight out next day but could not book it until next morning, only 11 seats left and 175 + passengers trying to book, some on internet that night. Not offered accomodation, so we booked in hotel for the night and booked with BMI on the internet at a much higher high cost for the next day. Just got the last few seats so heaven help any passengers that try to book over the phone(as BMI suggested) the next day. The next day we were told the flight was overbooked and offered a bribe to change our flights again! Luck has it that I had already booked the seats and they couldn't bump us. Has cost me over £1000 extra! We will never use this airline again.

What seemed a good deal ended up like most costing 3 times as much but no problems with the flight or in flight service. Just check in. We arrived at East Midlands fora 10.50 flight at 9.15 and found a long queue and 2 desks open this was speedily reduced to 1 and we then waited and waited until they finally realised that people were not going to make their flights and opened several more desks. This left us with just enough time to go through security and use the toilet before being one of the ...

This was the first time I had ever flown BMI Baby. I am so glad that this great airline is expanding massively next year from my home airport at East Midlands. I thought the prices of the food were not too bad and it was better than expected quality. We were on time departing and arriving on both flights so that was very good indeed! The only down sides are that it is a bit more expensive than Ryanair, easyjet and a majority of the low cost airlines and the hand baggage allowance is less than on ...

I think that many reviewers on this site get confused with BMI british midland and BMI Baby. BMI Baby are excellent! I have never flown an airline better and I have flown on a lot of airlines in my time! The staff are very helpful and the flight was very pleasant and had no delays, brilliant airline! I don't see any reason why people would avoid using this airline. The only thing is, I just wish they flew to one of the London airports, Stansted idealy. That would make it eaiser for me as Birming ...

Three days before departure, bmibaby sent me an email informing me that I had to supply advance passenger information online before I fly or pay 5 GBP per leg at the airport. Fair enough, I thought, it's a budget airline, they try to make additional money from people who don't jump through their hoops. What followed went beyond that. I had flown on the AMS-BHX trajectory with bmibaby before, and online checkin was not possible in AMS, but this was a while ago and since I only had hand baggage, I ...

I flew BMI Baby on 27th July to Malaga with my family of 5. Booking were made online. I elected to check in 4 passengers online and one airport check-in.System allowed me to purchase 4 bags allowance @ 18kg each saying 5 bags maximum can be taken on board. At airport,I was told that only 1 bag would be allowed per person... thus 4 passengers would need to be checked in at airport... in addition, I needed to pay an additional £100 since I did not use my first name on my booking ! The smalle ...

BEWARE : the BMIBABY hold luggage standard size is smaller than that of RyanAir / Easyjet etc.. so although you may be used to your regular hold luggage going on other flights without problems, BMIBABY will charge you £30 for the pleasure of carrying it !If you do online checkin, you will only realise this once you are at the boarding gate, and the BMIBABY staff bring out a "tester frame" significantly smaller than the regular ones (my bag passed the Ryanair tester frame at the neighbouri ...

I booked a flight with BMI baby back in February this year to fly to Malaga, I am due to fly in two weeks, I received an email a couple of days ago as we opted for on line checking and they asked for passport details for Spanish Immigration, I thought fair enough, logged on and they have got incorrect initial for my husband, I called them and explained that I hadnt done and explained the I.T. issues with their website as it kept crashing when I booked the flight. I had to pay £105.50 to ch ...

I made a booking for me and a friend with BMI Baby. Unfortunately I found out post booking that her name is different on her passport. I expected to pay a reasonable admin charge to make this amendment but they said it's a flat £100! At no point during the booking process does it mention this and when you ring the 0901 65p a min number to speak to someone about it they said it's in the FAQ's section at the bottom left! They've only just changed it recently (within the last month). The cal ...

sure i will tell my friends not to fly with bmi baby because bmi baby will rip people off one way or another:- they charged me, and some more people, another 10 pounds cause 1) i didn't check in 3 hours before departure & 2) because they said i didn't check in online (i did on the internet!). besides it's crazy to pay 10 pounds more because of the "total price" . bmi baby didn't care and didn't understand and i wanted to go home.- 2 persons have to bring along 1 bag, or else you will pay for one ...

Dreadful experience, flew from Manchester to Amsterdam BMI Baby try very hard to charge you extra for hold baggage (made me force my hand luggage into a tiny slot to prove it was below the size limit - but the bins on the aircraft were much bigger!). Staff on the plane were rude and the plane was only 20% full, god knows what they would have been like if busy, i know its a low cost airline, but when did being polite start costing money?

Flight home at 7pm was cancelled and we were told we could ...

I have read here on the reviews that BMI allows 20 kilos per person just as I and other passengers assumed untill we were travelling back and saw chaos in the BMI que, EVERYBODY had to either take stuff out of their cases or pay extra because it is now 18 kgms, we were all baffled as to when this reduction happened, I had to pay £30.00 for luggage when I booked the flight and was so sure it was 20kgms, beware, they also take advantage that people cannot take their own beverages on board, ...

BMI BABY - CANCELLATION OF FLIGHTS

BMI BABY - Heard the announcement from BMI Baby in Febuary of the new route from Cardiff to Almeria. Booked 3 flights and several friends and family members booked their flights as they were being booked very quickly.
Looking forward to our flight in 6 weeks so devasted to receive an email yesterday informing me that all flights are cancelled due to operational reasons and I will refunded in the next 28 days.
From another forum, another unhappy client only dis ...

The only problem i have had with BMI Baby was i was flying back from holland (which i do quite regular) and we had to land at east midlands instead of birmingham. But BMI had a coach outside waiting for us as soon as we landed. Coach was great. brand new comfy. Couldnt of asked for anymore. People expect 5* from a 1* low fare line. If you want the 5* go to another company instead of moaning about a plane company u pay pennies for. You get what you pay for. A well loved old plane. Staff are frie ...

With BMI Baby if nothing goes wrong it's bearable, but the minute anything went wrong the staff I dealt with seemed very unhelpful towards me and the so called customer service number was impossible to get through to any time I tried and is a premium rate number anyway!!
In flight magazine included article from CEO that talked about financial performance without mentioning customer service once!! Your planes are full of customers mate, not investors!!

The in flight menu claims that their plast ...

I can honestly say there was nothing I would say pleased me about BMI Baby. Where do I start my original return flight from Malaga was cancelled they offered me another flight the next day when I tried to get through to customer services it took three days to get to speak to someone. On our way out to Malaga from Manchester the airport was shrouded in fog so we were expecting a delay, while sitting in the lounge in terminal three we noticed all the flights prior to ours were showing a delay the ...

Flights on time, comfy seats, friendly staff. No nonsense airline, seats ok, staff fine and all on time ...happy. Bad points, couldn't find one.
