Good Points: Ease of ordering if you know exactly what you want.

Bad Points: Too many to list - see general comments.

General comments: I order my Mazda 6 from Virgin Cars on 15th May 2004. I paid the deposit and was told the vehicle would be ready for collection in July. Well July came and went and I had to phone and enquire when my car would be ready. I was told that due to export problems, it wouldn't be ready until September. I accepted this new date but did stipulate in an email to their customer relations department of my dissatisfaction. Again September came and went and still no car, I contacted Virgin Cars (alias Motor Solutions of Sheffield) and was informed that the vehicle would be ready for collection in December. I then received a call from Virgin Cars informing me my vehicle would be ready on 23rd December and and requesting the final balance. The remaining 13k was paid via the banks electronic method (CHAPS). The day before collecting the car, I phoned Virgin Cars to confirm the time only to be informed my car wasn't ready, in fact, it wasn't even in the country and no delivery date could be given. I requested my money to be paid back by the same process only to be informed that this could not be done and I would have to wait for the finance director to return from holiday in the new year for the a cheque to be sent via the post. I wrote a letter detailing what had happened and requesting that this situation be rectified. In the new year I did receive a call from their Customer Services Department (which I believe was from Motor Solutions) apologising and informing me that a cheque was in the post for the 13k I had already paid. I asked when my vehicle would be ready but again they couldn't provide a date. I finally received the vehicle on 12th March 2005 (10 months later, which is well in excess of the 6 weeks delivery).

I can not recommend anybody to use Virgin Cars Motor Solutions and now I have discovered that this company also trades under the names of DC Cook Direct.co.uk and Showroom.co.uk.

I recently ordered a used Ford Mondeo from Virgin Cars. 6 weeks after posting them a 'signed order' the car was delivered. The car - just 9 months old - looked as like it was over 5 years old. The exterior was dirty and scratched. Virgin Cars had promised me that the car would be delivered in 'showroom condition'! How wrong they were. I rejected the vehicle and demanded a refund - which they have given me, less the Admin Fee of £69. Of course, Virgin Cars is not really 'Virgin Cars' - ...

Ordered a basic Ford Mondeo from the Virgin Cars Car Supermarket and was given an 8 week delivery time, however 8 weeks passed and I had no contact from virgin. I eventually find out after several phone calls that delivery is `estimated` in another 8 weeks - they tried to charge a cancellation fee when I cancelled.

We ordered a VW Touran in February 2005 and after stumping up a deposit of £4,500 still have no car or even the faintest idea of when we might receive it. Worst still, Virgin Cars do not even inform you that your order has been delayed until you phone them and even then they will only tell you it can't be delivered for another 12-14 weeks.
It is disgraceful that the Virgin brand is being tarnished by this shoddy outfit.

I ordered a VW Touran in February and was pleased with the pleasant customer service and the promised price. Then the nightmare began. I received one phone call from the virgin cars customer service people telling me of an expected delivery date - this was the first and last tine they ever called me. The delivery date sailed past and they had no news. The car was apparently subjected to 'a delay' and I have been left high and dry. Now I phone every day not to get my car but to get news of ...

Waited 8 weeks for car with no communication from the Virgin Cars Car Supermarket only to be told eventually after making several phone calls and e-mails that they probably could not deliver the car within even another month or two.
Decided to change purchase to a car they had in stock. Paid in full and now they cannot find the registration documents so cannot tax the car so we cannot collect it. No phone calls or emails even when promised.
    Shambles!

The delivery date for our car has just sailed past. There is no communication from Virgin Cars, no new delivery date, no apology. What are Virgin doing wrecking their brand image with an outfit like this?

The order takes 3 times longer than stated on the web site and when you cancel after waiting a month for a car that states it's in stock on the web they charge you £59 pounds admin costs... My advice, don't buy a car from these people.
