Good Points: Offers good discounts.
Bad Points: Never return calls once order taken. Car increases in price after order taken. Many delays in delivery. In end cant supply car as they had messed up on order.
General comments: I ordered a car from DC Cook at the beginning of Dec 07 - a New Ford Mondeo. Paid £2k deposit told would be delivered 03 Mar 08. Had a few phones call confirming delivery date, then 2 days prior to delivery was told there was a 6-8 week delay. After this point communication was terrible, phone calls consistently not returned promises made and not kept. Needless to say the car did not arrive in April. I was told in May the car had arrived and asked to pay the full balance. Collection was arranged for the 12th May. A couple of days prior to collection I was told that there was no car, they had made a mistake on the order! I was then told they could reorder and the lead time was approximately 24 weeks. After some discussion they then told me they would try to find a car already in the 'system 'and came back with a choice of 2 cars, not the same spec or colour that I had ordered and of course the price had gone up by £600! Having waited so long for a car I agreed to accept one of these and was told delivery would be 1-2 weeks. After 3 weeks there was no car, I asked for a full refund but was persuaded that the car would be there that week. The car did not turn up so again I demanded a full refund and was told I could not have one! I then got into a heated discussion which ended in having to get quote tough to obtain my money back at the end of May.

I have just taken delivery of a fab new Ford Mondeo diesel and I love it. I found dc cook through Google although I had heard of them before as I think they had a big showroom in derby. I have scored DC Cook 8 but it ' s probably a bit harsh, I have docked them a point for the car being late and also for sometimes having to wait in a phone queue for a few minutes overall I am delighted with my car and the guys at DC Cook. They blitzed the local dealer prices and I had thought at one point it was ...

Ordered a Mondeo in sept 07 received car feb 08 approx 18 weeks later. Forever chasing them up you have to call them constantly, they dont seem to call you, then had to pressure them for registration document received it april some excuse about it being pre-registered car. : BE WARNED: great prices but poor service. Does anyone know if DC Cooks at the roundabout in Rotherham is shut down? I drive past it everyday & there is no cars there anymore & the showroom is bare.

If you have ordered, call, call and call again. Be organised and take a note of every deadline they give you so you know when they're slipping. If a car is to be delivered on a certain day and they haven't asked for full payment around a week before then it might be late.
I personally didn't really trust them by the time I had to pay in full and waiting 3 weeks after I'd paid was not an experience I'm going to repeat. I will go back to simply buying a pre-reg car from a dealer who will let me si ...

I have just taken delivery of my new Ford Mondeo tdci ordered in January.
I was initially told 8 weeks but was made aware part way into the order that the cars were delayed in production. I was a little concernd about this but instead of moaning and groaning at them I trusted the infomation would be correct, I also decided to contact my main dealer who confirmed that yes the cars were delayed and where ever I gone I would get the same delay.
I saved 3 grand on my new car and DC Cook also matche ...

I initially contact DC Cook back in December to order a Mondeo Diesel the prices were attractive but new-car-discount were cheaper by a few hundred pounds. The salesman I was dealing with at the time told me why they were more expensive i.e. bigger company, service departments etc and at the time I though this to be a usual sales pitch!
I couldn ' t have been more wrong, I decided to go with the cheaper option of new-car-discount and placed a £1000 deposit with them in December. What a m ...

Ordered car early December, was advised delivery for mid-march. Kept up to date until early march saying car was still on time for delivery. Then put back until arpil, then may, then told the wrong car had arrived and there would be another 5 month wait for a car! Prices are cheap but most are pre-reg. Would never use again, I would rather pay the extra and use a main dealer.

Overall I'm very pleased with my car and smile about the price I paid. I wasn't happy about the delay but felt it wasn't too bad considering.
I've written a few reviews on this site and it seems that in the motor dealers section only those who are unhappy write. DC Cook claim to have sold 30,000 cars and there are 30 reviews so only 1 in 1000 has written on here.
I wonder if DC Cook to depend on main dealers so they receive a ready to deliver car and pass it on. They say it isn't easy getting ca ...

Ordered the vehicle and paid my deposit in July 07, On March requested full payment for the vehicle stated it would be available ten days later. Payment made in full. To this date I have still not received the vehicle despite having hundreds of delivery dates. On no occasion have they made contact, I have had to ring them on a number of occasions to find out what was happening.

I order my car on 14th February 2008 and have still not got it (15th April 2008). The service is unimpressive and if I can cancel my order I will. Would be happy to pay 2,000.00 more at a main dealer just for the service.
Awaiting call from a member of staff whom I can never get in touch with.
Would definitely not recommend them.

Appalling. We are now using Motorpoint (who we have used before) to buy a nearly new Smax. We only tried DCCOOK because we wanted a new Smax. DO NOT BUY FROM DCCOOK. You have been warned!
Use MOTORPOINT instead. They are seriously superb.

The score of 5 is such a shame for this company as the car represented such value and I'm already so happy with it, they should have got more. If only they gave consistent information it would make the whole experience far better .... being told it will be 2 weeks late and it then arriving is better than 2 days, then another 3 then another 1 then not sure, then another 5 .... you get the idea. People prefer honest bad news rather than vague contradicting info ..... it was just so frustrating.

I ordered a vehicle in mid December 07 and was initially looking at a 8 week delivery time. I received a phoncall from DC Cook on the 4th January explaining that the vehicle had landed ahead of schedule and I could have the vehicle within 7 days of paying final balance. I paid balance in full that same day and the car was on my drive on 11th Jan which was the following Friday.
Will be dealing with dc cook again in the future and I have passed on positve comments about the company to work collegu ...

Having reviewed a variety of websites and local car dealers we were delighted to chance upon the DC Cook website. The car of our dreams was substantially cheaper than anywhere else and the finance arrangements blew everyone elses out of the water by far. The sales person that we dealt with was extremely knowledgeable and was able to answer all of our questions and concerns diligently. We remained up-to-date about the progress of our purchase and we were delighted to pick it up just in time for c ...

Cheap prices, you'll probably wait the same length of time for a new car from DC Cook as anyone else. I don't know what level of service other car dealers offer as I've never bought brand new before but I wasn't really impressed. It seemed as though prompt delivery within the 3 month time limit was going to be difficult due to lack delivery slots and the estimates I was given (6-8 weeks, then a few later estimates) were all broken without any warning and you have to phone them to find out why. ...

I ordered a modeo in August and still waiting for it to be delivered even though this should have been in September.
No calls and they still have my money. Just as well we have another vehicle to get by with in the family. Every call and no one can tell me anything except there is a delay.
they do have the best price around but is it worth waiting for! especially with the poor standards of service.

I ordered a Mondeo Titanium X back in August at the cheapest price I could find. 4 months on and they still can't tell me when I am going to see it. I have phoned dozens of times and still no car!

After spending hours going around the showrooms and speaking to different online car supermarkets looking for my dream car (Vauxhall Astra sport Hatch 1.8 sri), I got recommended to have a look on the DCCook website. After finding the car on the website i decided to give them a ring as i was astonished by how cheap they was compared to the dealers and other internet companies, there had to be a catch somewhere but to my surprise it was genuine there was no catch at all. The sales staff was excel ...
