Good Points: Car was brilliant value, I saved over £2000 off a franchise price, and it was in beautiful condition, having had a high spec renault clio before we knew what we we're looking for and it had everything we wanted.
Bad Points: The problem was the contract said that money was to be paid in full 7 days prior to collection. I paid the money in full and then the hassle started. No one knew where the car was when I rang to find the process and it was another 5 weeks before I eventually received it. I wrote personally to Richard Branson who directed the letter to the Directors of Virgin Cars and received a cheque in return, for the interest that the money would have earnt in my bank account. I was also promised points for airmiles but never received them.
General comments: Lovely car, did not really lose anything when traded in for a new one recently, but bought this from a franchise. If Virgin Cars had got their act together I am sure they could have still been trading.

It seems a little pointless writing a review on a company that is no longer trading vehicles but Virgin as a brand goes on and some unfortunate people are still experiencing problems even now. Virgin is such a huge empire it should be careful who it lets use it's name/brand. Probably due to all the problems they pulled out? However, as I did, many people who bought a car this way probably did so with confidence because of the branding. I still have not received the log book after 6 months and st ...- Read AKHAKH's review (110 words)

We ordered a brand new Renault scenic 1600 expression paying 11500 up front after a deposit of 500, over Xmas I logged onto the Virgin website to find they had stopped taking new orders....this dashed my confidence completely! then I went on this review site to find so many negative comments I felt like ending my life there and then...anyway after waiting 5 weeks we were given a delivery date...great we thought, the following evening we had a phone call to say that the passenger door was stuck a ...- Read nickplastic's review (210 words)

I ordered a nearly new Ford Fiesta Zetec 1.4 5 door (AC), £6500 21st December 2005. The Virgin Cars sales staff were great at approving the finance agreement. I sent off all the relevant paperwork and sat back to enjoy Christmas, knowing of course no progress will be made on the order until after Christmas / New Year.
On 27th December 2005 I noticed a message on the Virgin Car site, stating they are no longer accepting new orders for vehicles as of 22nd December, but existing orders w ...- Read jamessuh's review (841 words and 1 comment)

I would like to re-iterate what Brendon from Manchester has said, I was promised my car several times & even paid Virgin Cars the full price but never got the car. I finally ran out of patience with them & requested my money back - this was the only thing they kept a promise on & I got my money back less £75 admin fee. I then went to Sigma Cars & they were brilliant - got the car on time & saved £1K on the Virgin price. Virgin turned what should have been a very good experience into ...- Read denlane's review (118 words)

After ordering my car from Virgin Cars in August 2005, I was promised delivery on the 23rd of September, this was changed to September 30th, then this was changed to October 12th, yet again this was changed to October 15th. I advised them I would be away on October the 15th, so they said I could pick the car up on my return from holiday on Sunday the 23rd. I had already had the car reg from the finance company, and arranged the insurance... Surprise, it wasn't there on the Sunday. After numerous ...- Read br3ndam's review (183 words)

I bought a Xzara Picasso 1.6HDI Diesel brand new with 19 miles on the clock (saving £5,500 on the list price) from www.virgincars.com. The whole process was painless and completed by phone. There was a ten day delay on the delivery date but given it was August that was to be expected. The car drives like a dream and I am getting an amazing 58 miles to the gallon.- Read Hildenboy's review (79 words)

I recently purchased a new Volkswagen Golf 2.0 GT TDI from Virgin Cars, and I have to say that I love the car, a real good drive and great fuel economy.
I probably won't make many friends saying this, but I had a very positive experience at Virgin. I ordered my car after finding it on their internet site, delivery time was said to be 8 weeks. I was happy with this, as I was saving myself a good couple of grand compared to my local VW dealer, with not a considerable difference in waiting tim ...- Read goodmanfrank's review (318 words and 1 comment)

I tried to buy a used Vauxhall Zafira from Virgin Cars. I paid a deposit and signed and returned a contract. They then called me to tell me my car was no longer available, and offered a replacement for an additional £800. I refused and from then on, had to chase them. I eventually saw a car on their website, same make, but not as good (1.6 litre instead of my initial 1.8, and 17,000 miles instead of my initial 15,000). It was advertised for £500 more than my offer. I called them ...- Read christinemariani's review (161 words)

I've read all the reviews about virgin cars. I can relate to them as I have come accross a lot of the problems encountered, but ask yourself after all is said and done and the car is with you are you happy with it? Yep the reviews I read scared me no end! But hey I decided to buy a New Pre Reg Megane Scenic from the website. I Ordered a silver got a call later saying they have a black in stock. I took it, collected it (within 10 days) and the ABS was faulty. Drove from Inverness to collect it fo ...- Read smkt's review (400 words)

Was going to order a Mercedes from these jokers, but 'Virgin' tried to make us pay an extra 600quid for metallic paint on a C-200 CDI Elegance SE Mercedes Benz. Metallic paint is standard on all the SE and Elegance models.

Told would have to wait only two days for different car. Paid £800.00 more for newer reg. Waited four weeks, told 9 NINE times that car was on way. Cancelled order as needed car to tow caravan for holiday. Three weeks later still no refund. Been told FOUR times the money is on the way. BEWARE!!! My comments are very much the same as everyone elses. Which car do you want, oh yes we've got one of those, great price then.... nothing.
You pay in full and never hear a thing.
You call to find out and, in my experiance, you are lied to... I kid you not. Mr Branson if you're out there sue me, I and several hundred others like me would love the opportunity to give their account of the stories that Customer Services tell.
Basically they sell you anything you ask for then hope to god they can g ...- Read firemanian's review (196 words and 1 comment)

Ordered car end of January from Virgin Cars with a 6-8 week delivery. Got to around the 8 weeks with no word so we phoned to enquire. After about a week of being fobbed off we eventually explained we required the car for a holiday on 3rd June. Got phone call to say we wouldn't have the car by then did we want to cancel or change to another car. As we were now in a hurry we chose a car from their clearance range - in stock and available in 7 days! That was on the 29th April and we still cannot ge ...- Read aebruce40's review (141 words)

Ordered a car on 25th Jan and was told 12 week delivery wait. Advised on Monday 11th April car would be with Virgin on Friday 15th. On Wednesday 13th received call to say no cars in the colour I ordered were available and that there were 4 alternatives. In view of their inability to supply what they were contracted to I asked for full spec on the other 4. They were unable to tell me. Promised call backs so many times and never received one. My partner and myself purchased a car from Virgin Cars on the 5th March, it was a VW Golf GT TDI, initially, we were delighted with the service we received on this day, the sales advisor seemed to be on our side with regards to price which is usualy extremely hard to find. The Sales Advisor explained to us that they had 2 cars in stock at their compound in Sheffield, 1 in the colour we were looking for and 1 in another colour, he said to secure this vehicle it was mandatory that we put a 10% de ...- Read trh338's review (783 words)

Stated 8-12 weeks delivery date on web site - now 15 weeks after order form returned, and no delivery in site. Virgin Cars originally phoned every 10-14 days saying order on track for delivery 18th October. Stopped calling 4 weeks before that date, and when I called them (which entailed waiting up to 30 minutes on hold for an answer by a person) they said probably still that date. Indeed, when I rang the previous Thursday (14th) they still said it might be the 18th, so I had to confirm a day of ...- Read suffolkyid's review (331 words)
