I love to go in early afternoon and stay for some time and also early evenings which has a great atmosphere and becomes really buzzy. I think the owner/manager Sandra is someone who really knows her business and runs it brilliantly. Should pushchairs and children be welcomed in a wine bar? No I'm afraid not. Find a good cafe girls. Keep the bars for the 'grown ups'. Vivienne - Thorpe Bay.

I found it to seem overpriced and of general poor quality - I think they need to be educated about a credit crunch!

I did not enjoy the experience and found it to be lacking quality and not supportive of quantity!

Was stopped from stepping in the door of Ugo's Cafe Baron on a weekday afternoon because 'they don't allow pushchairs'. Generally I would understand if it was crowded but there were about 2 tables occupied. So we went off to the Estuary on The Broadway who were busier but more than accommodating. Wouldn't go back even without my daughter because of the smug manageress who seemed to take delight in not letting us in.

Ugo's Cafe Bar in Leigh-on-Sea is a nice place to spend an afternoon. It is definitely a lunch-time place, as evenings tend to become overcrowded and you could easily spend a small fortune on a night out.

The food is good though, and the staff, although young, are friendly, helpful and happy to deal with any problems or questions you have.

Leigh-on-Sea, Cafe, Ugo's Cafe Bar: I have eaten here every week for quite some time now. I find that the food is very nice, the atmosphere is great and people of any age are welcome. The only bad points are that it can become smokey and a bit crowded, but I can only remember one time where we couldn't get a seat and had to go elsewhere.

All in all it's a great cafe. If you want a friendly get together with friends, I suggest you go in the week at lunchtime (it is closed on a monday though) o ...

Lunchtime midweek can be a bit of a pain at Ugo's Cafe Bar as the place fills up with ladies who used to lunch but now have children, so they bring them along as well, giving the place the appearance of a middle class creche. The food is nice, but one has to admire the nerve of the owners for the prices that are charged for a glass of wine. It is cheaper to drink in the West End of London. Still, I suppose as long as they can get away with it.
