“Waste of time.”

Written on: 20/08/2016 by Smithul1952 (1 review written)

So I looked on the website, chose a car, called Arnold Clark. Cleared relevant checks etc and arranged to pick up car in a few days time. (Deposit taken) the branch where I had to pick up car was 3 hours away from home but didn't mind that because I was getting a good reliable family car. So this morning I travelled the 3 hour journey with the family 3 young children. Only to arrive at branch and there was the car I had purchased waiting for us! Unfortunately I had been totally misled by the… Read Full Review

“leased company car ”

Written on: 19/08/2016 by HaleighDuncan256 (1 review written)

I write this having still not taken delivery of the car.... Although they confirmed the car was available within the 12 week period , which I was happy about. The delivery date was confirmed, and I agreed to go to them to pick up. We heard nothing further but fortunately we contacted them the day before to be told, "car was not going to arrive in time and needed to reschedule for next week". We then agreed a new date and time slot ( before 11.00) and it would be delivered to my home address… Read Full Review

“AVOID They advertise non existent cars at imaginary...”

Written on: 13/08/2016 by Maynardwi454 (1 review written)

Visited the dealership to buy a new Abarth, as the website advertised a great deal. Turns out there were no cars available at this price. Despite complaining and being offered some small discount, the advertised car at the advertised price was merely an illusion. Some week or so later these imaginary cars at imaginary prices are still being advertised. The matter is now with trading standards and I am discussing my future purchase with dealers who have cars in stock at advertised prices. I… Read Full Review

“Service Department Reception Desk”

Written on: 10/08/2016 by Blair348 (1 review written)

Brought a New Fiat 500X from Arnold Clark Oldbury West Midlands, had a number of issues with the vehicle with has been disappointing, but its been the poor customer service provided by their rude, arrogant, Reception Service Department staff that has really disappointed me. I found the actual engineers knowledgeable and they carried out any repairs to my satisfaction. It's unfortunate that Fiat are being represented in the UK in such a disrespectful manner, they won't be getting any repeat… Read Full Review

“Very Poor Service Department”

Written on: 06/08/2016 by GForrest (2 reviews written)

My Peugeot Tepee Expert (taxi) has been the most problematic car ever, at 39k miles it required a new flywheel and clutch which Arnold Clark Peugeot Inverness would of quite willingly charged me £1500 for had I not complained. The next visit was to get the window washers to operate properly. After 15 months on the road the thing started to rattle so got the Anti Roll Bar replaced on warranty. This is where I have a real problem, the N/S Driveshaft inner boot band snapped they said it was wear… Read Full Review

“"why do they do it?"”

Written on: 01/08/2016 by 192Bailey (1 review written)

We have been looking around over the last 2 weeks for a car to replace our 6 year old car. We were prepared to spend around £15000 for the right car. Popped into A.C. and spent around 2 hours having a good look around their stock. Eventually got down to the nitty gritty and entered into the paperwork part and arrived at a price for our car. First offered £4500. I refused, after a trip to his manager (which took 2 minutes) offer went up to £5000 IF I signed up for the new car on the spot. I… Read Full Review

“Let down and disapointed.”

Written on: 01/08/2016 by TreyOwens (1 review written)

Totally let down by Arnold Clark St Helens after my car which is still under warrenty flooded with water leaving me unable to drive the car. My complaint has been passed to trading standards after 6 weeks due to the poor workmenship carried out and disapointing customer service. Not only did they refuse to look at the car without a £60 fee when they did finally look at the car they returned it without removing any of the wet carpets, mats or seats. I am disputing that the car interior was… Read Full Review

“Avoid buying the Service Plan”

Written on: 31/07/2016 by ArielHumphrey486 (1 review written)

Wife bought a used VW Fox with the Service Plan - MOT & Service for 3 Years. When work needing done, part prices quoted are sky high,so beware! Back exhaust pipe to Cat Convertor needed and quoted £480 supply and fit. Own mechanic did job for £95. Also quoted £390 for front bushes and done for £109 by a specialised VW mechanic. Also said back washer needing replaced....probably because it doesn't have one! Don't seem to have a clue apart from rip off parts pricing… Read Full Review

“first time and last time”

Written on: 30/07/2016 by FernandoRoach (1 review written)

First time I have bought from Arnold Clark in 30 years. The car had a warning light on delivery. I was told it would reset and if not return - how did this pass a pre delivery inspection? I took it to a local Arnold Clark who tried to repair but said to take back to London Road. I called and was told to drop the car off and when I asked for a courtesy car was told none were available for 2 weeks(eventually got a fiat 500) but the repair should only take a couple of days at Arnold Clark Hyundai… Read Full Review

“Disgusting service”

Written on: 15/07/2016

As an inexperienced driver and first time car buyer I was hoping for a positive experience on arriving at Arnold Clark dealership in Dalmarnock Road Glasgow. How wrong I was, as soon as I arrived it was basically are you buying the car which I hadn't seen or test driven. I kept being told the car I was interested in would go if I didn't hurry up and make my decision. The sales man was rude, arrogant and made absolutely no effort to build a rapport or put me at ease. I left nearly in tears by… Read Full Review

Also when we asked for a taxi number, the lady on the service desk arranged a lift for us in seconds ...for free. Waiting area has complementary Tea / Coffee, Biscuits & Newspapers. “Backed out on agreed deal with deposit paid”

Written on: 03/07/2016 by mattmcw (1 review written)

Ford Ayr advertised Mondeo at £5000 in sat morning. I had online chat & called in afternoon - car had scrape/poor repair to front wing which they advised they would repair and agreed £200 off price. Agreed deal & paid £100 deposit. Got phone call within 10 minutes saying that manager advised price had been wrongly entered on autotrader and they couldn't allow the £200 discount.I said I would need time to think & call them on Sun. Before I had time to decide it was already online at £5500… Read Full Review

“DO NOT TRUST!!!”

Written on: 17/06/2016 by 211Craig (1 review written)

Do not trust them!!! been looking for a hyundai i40 for a little while and found on your website what should have been the perfect car for me. 1 year old with only 7500 miles. I phoned the branch and enquired about the condition and was told it was in "mint condition" as you would expect from a relatively new car with low mileage. I asked to check the condition as I was going to sort out child care for my two young daughters, was going to have to drive up and stay in a hotel over night and I… Read Full Review

“DO NOT Buy the additional warranty”

Written on: 06/06/2016 by Noelle317 (1 review written)

Nine months ago I purchaced a three and half year old Fiat 500 from Arnold Clark in West Bromwich for my daughter to learn to drive in, Fiat are not good cars anyway but she liked it. After a quick five min test drive around the block the sale was done with the extra inclusions of a two year service plan, gap insurance and a two year additional warranty, adding around £850 to the cost of the car. After a few miles it was noticed the hand brake was would not hold the car on hill starts so was… Read Full Review

“Even before buying!”

Written on: 16/05/2016

The worst car buying experience I've had in nearly 30 years. Ineptitude, underhandedness, atrocious customer service - all from the Inverness Volvo/Skoda branch. Ending up with us waiting over a week for a car that they then refused to sell us, as it was not "cost effective" to fix it. In other words, despite signing an agreement and contarct to sell it to us, they realised they weren't going to make any money on it, if they did the work, instead of auctioning it. They really left us in the… Read Full Review
