    Good Points: Good bass
    Lighter than other discmans
    Thin
    Remote very good to use
Good development on the jog lever

Bad Points: External battery pack too big/long awkward
    Discman a bit heavy
    Bad earphones
Cannot operate the discman without the remote
You cannot do things like bookmark/shuffle turn bass on etc

General comments: I've used this Sony D-NE1 portable mp3 cd player a for a year and recently bought a dne900.I must regret on selling dne1 disc player. The bass was extremely good.
The bad thing about this is that the external battery pack that comes with it is a weird looking shape and its quite big too.It is kinda hard to put the external battery pack in the carry pouch that comes with the cd player.
The remote is very easy to use with a blacklight lcd that you can show off to others.lol.
Without the remote you cannot do anything at all.
The discman doesn't have it on lcd screen meaning you cannot view the track it is playing and the playback time it is running through the track.
There are two bass settings.1 and 2.The second bass is a very powerful bass sound if you use it with mdrex71sl and even with 888sp which i have the cd player brings a crisp surround sound feeling of the songs.

When you buy a Sony D-NE1d-ne1, you get the cd player(in fact:))a couple of bad ear-plugs,a smart charge-station,a burning program for the atrac system, an extra battery-supply case, and a small bag for carrying...

well... to start with the worst: the burning program! here, sony has a lot to learn from both roxio and ahead, with their easy cd-creator,and nero burning rom. its not that it is a bad user interface, its just that the program consumes cpu-power faster than you can say "banana". on a p ...
