Good Points: Hotel was very clean in the communal areas.
Bad Points: Beds very uncomfortable, not helped by the fact that a rubber sheet is fitted between the mattress and bottom sheet. This was a comment echoed by all members of our group. Rooms too hot, air conditioning is not switched on until May, ambient air fans rattled, again a general comment within the group. TV in the bedroom did not work properly.
General comments: Spent a week at the hotel, 3rd week in April 2008, temperature during the week ranged from 24 to 30 degrees, hence comments above, ten years since last refurbish and it shows, wallpaper and skirting boards badly marked, bathrooms in general need of overhaul.Staff tended to be surly, particularly in the dining areas. Also reception staff unwilling to contact our tour operator on our departure day when the departure bus was half an hour late.Advised that we would be charged if we put our own cold drinks in the bedroom fridge. No coffee making facilities in bedrooms. Two of the lifts were out of order for 5 of the 7 days we were there. We were on the third floor!

We've been for the last two years and have thoroughly enjoyed our stay both times. I completely disagree with some of the reviews I have read on this site about the staff, perhaps it's something to do with the guest they are presented with. We've met people who've returned year after year and it's not the last time we will be going either.

Hotel was very clean as were the rooms but the beds weren't very comfortable.
Situated very central for bars and restaurants where we ate most nights as the hotel food wasn't up to much. Hotel staff really friendly which goes against most reviews I had read before I arrived but having experienced the attitude of some guests towards the staff which was way beyond rude I can only assume they had written those reviews.

Aloe Hotel - The public areas were all very comfortable and air conditioned. We stayed B & B and the breakfasts were 1st class. Plenty of choice and the kids loved them! The pool area is very nice. Sunbeds were being reserved but we always managed to get a couple at 9.30 to 10ish. Drink and food prices probably about the same as at home. Service was ok, not at all slow as others have suggested. We had room service the last day and that was fast and very good. Towels are provided for use around t ...

I agree that some of the staff at the Aloe Hotel are rude and surly and in the main very unhelpful. It appears to be a game as to how long they can actually ignore you for.
The hotel is shabby and desperately in need of refurbishing and I agree that it certainly no longer warrants 3 stars, even though it continues to charge high prices for cheap and nasty food.
All in all it is a shame to see what has happened to what used to be my favourite hotel in Paphos.

Aloe Hotel - I am not quite sure where they get the idea this is a 4 star hotel. The pool is the major selling point but the staff are often rude. If you have a problem they appear to listen but then do nothing about it.
The air conditioning in the rooms is very poor - don't expect much sleep.
Everything in the hotel is priced at 5 star prices - ironic because this hotel is certainly not deserving of anything more than 3*'s.

Just returned from one week at Hotel Aloe in Paphos, from 3-10 July. What can I say?
Firstly the good points - the reception at first appears to be immaculate (this is until you see how worn the decor is). The staff (mostly Hungarian it seems) in the hotel bar were very friendly, chatty and eager to help.
Tatiana, the customer relations lady was very helpful in explaining some of the hotel's bizarre policies, and made a point of checking up on us each day. The cleaning staff were very ef ...

We have just returned from two weeks in Paphos in Cyprus. We stayed at the Aloe Hotel www.aloe-hotel.com just a short walk from the harbour. Although the hotel was full, It was the beginning of the season and there were only a few children in the hotel. The hotel evening entertainment was a bit limited so we went out every evening.
The hotel itself was the usual 4 star, with a beautiful, clean, well-maintained freeform swimming pool and a traditional style pool alongside for the more serious ...
