    Bad Points: plastic base.

General comments: The Nikon 28-80 AF G Series is Very sharp on my Nikon D700. Very good colors. Sometimes it is almost as sharp as my Nikon 14-24. Ultralight.
I think that lenses are less important than photographers and cameras. I have always had very good pictures using this lens on my D700. Ideal for travelling.

Extremely sharp on nikon D3 at f9.
Cant see any difference between this and my 60 mm nikon macro lens!
Nice and sharp, but feels loose and plasticky...
Well recommend Nikon 28-80 AF G Series...

This Nikon 28-80 AF G Series along with the 28-100 is nikons budget zoom for all its new auto fous film cameras.

it can also be used on the newer digital cameras giving you a 42-120 sized lens.

you have to be slightly more protective of this lens as it can get knocked out of alignment with very heavy usage, as some reports say.

but i have hammered my two versions (silver and black) and had no problems yet.

dont expect to get 12 x 16 pin sharp enlargements out of this lens. but you wi ...
