    Good Points: This is a fast, light lens able to be used as a great portrait lens. as well as a fast low light lens for indoor work.


    Bad Points: Not as fast as the f2.0 and has quite a long focus turn from its closest focus to infinity.


    General comments: This Canon FD 100mm f 2.8 is a great 35mm SLR lens for all fd cameras. It is not much bigger than the 50mm standard lens.

    Its very small and light with a fastish f2.8 aperture. with 400-800 iso film you will be able to work indoor areas such as concerts and sports events when flash is not allowed.

    hand holding this lens is very easy and the quailty of the photo even at the widest aperture of f2.8 is great.

    for portraiture the 100mm allows you to not to invade posers personal space. and by not having to use flash in most cases shows the sitters features off to their best advantages. Instead of flat front on flash.

    These are quite cheap now that canon has gone to auto focus lenses. a nice canon product all round.
