“Cheating stealing ”

I booked over the internet a car is Costa Rica. The charge offer was Appox. 150 $ per 8 days. But the charge you 69 $ per day for insurance. The final cost was 675 $. They take adavantage of the situation that you have just lended,you wanty to start your vecation with your family and you are already out of the airport. “Bad Experience”

Rented a car at Denver Airport. We had to wait about 30 minutes to get to customer service to get a car (there were ONLY two customer service reps). First car was ok, got down the road..warning message that car door is ajar. Took this car back, next car was an upgrade (SUV), the doors would not lock...took this car back, the third car was ok it ran. All of the cars we got were not cleaned. The inside was not cleaned. “Worst rental experience ever!”

I rented a car from Payless/Dooley in Dublin on 26-28 June online, since they offered automatic transmissions and what I thought was a good price. We got to the airport and waited 40 minutes for the shuttle. They had one man not only running the shuttle, but also getting all the passengers' paperwork and cars for them. “Payless can be better BUT YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR”

Tried payless for the first time because their prices were the lowest. Aside from Customer service being slow - they offer a bare bones car rental service. Make sure you have your third party liability insurance card as well as collision damage waiver from your credit card co. and you can avoid any additional charges. “PAYMORE ... WAY MORE”

STAY AWAY! STAY AWAY! STAY AWAY! 1) They are not cheap. Charges on top of your rental rate (not including insurance) will be 50% of the rental rate! ... Airport based rental companies are 30% more. “Beware of payless”

I made a reservation for a car to be used in San Antonio Texas at orbiz.com, it was for 3 days for 178dlls, ended up paying more than 330 dlls for the hidden fees not disclosed by payless at the counter. At the time of rental i showed the counter man my insurance, he distracted me and made me sign gor an additional insurance which cost 24.99 per day that i didnt need. “Paymore not less”

Same as everyone else about Payless Car Rentals. These guys are modern day bandits. Charm/smiley counter staff, sly underhand secretive process, fees and charges added even though verbally declined numerous times, signed refusal forms completed but do not get a copy and no one can produce them again. Final charge $274.77 original registration confirmation with CarRental.com $119.78. USA must be proud of them. I too wish I had read reviews. Got a killer deal through CarRental and then ended up paying $208 more due to the additional insurance. I'm currently trying to that reimbursed but have a feeling I have learned a very expensive lesson.

“Payless Car Rental San José Costa Rica”

When we came to the office all the trouble started. They told us we could use a Maestro card, so we didn't bring cash. Guess what, not accepting Maestro. We had to search for an usable ATM for more than an hour before finding one. If we knew we couldn't use our card we would have brought the cash from home, saving an hour of useless searching. “You end up paying more than other luxury car rentals”

I live in Quebec and I rented the car from Montreal site to visit Quebec city with my family. It was the cheapest price (great) and it says unlimited mileage (great). When I finally found their place ....the gelteman told me that for local rental (people from Quebec) it is 200 km. If you are not from Quebec you have unlimited milage within the provice (if you go to Ottawa you are done!). “Terrible Experience at SFO Outlet”

There's a lot to dislike about Payless at SFO. I can't imagine ever using them again, cheapest vendor or not. To start with at SFO their agency is about a 15 minute bus ride away from the airport, adding about 30 minutes to the time to get your vehicle. That's something I could live with. What was completely unacceptable was their method of pushing add-ons. The car rental industry is generally awful with their pushing junk insurance, tank refills and similar. Quote of $268 went to $710 at pick-up. Must purchase their insurance, $250 deposit. Car upgraded, smelled moldy after spray wore off. “Payless- Not worth the "savings"”

1. They did not charge us the rate as it was confirmed by Priceline. 2. Then Payless charged us $8.95 a day in addition for third party liability insurance. They said it was mandatory to be insured for $2 million and that our insurance only covers up to 1 million (we had car insurance statement the the insurance card with us). After booking my rental car from Orlando Airport, I am called the location directly and asked what the total needed on my credit card would be . I was told $350 would be all I need. “Payless Rental Orlando, Florida”

Payless Rental should be named Paymore Rental. I was quoted $271.28 for a Grand Cherokee on rentalcars.com and I booked it. When I arrived at Payless outside of the Orlando International Airport, they didn't have the vehicle I booked and they tried to give me a Hyundai SUV. “Toronto Airport Payless Rental - Worst Service Ever”

I am very disappointed with the rental car I got. I reserved a Compact car online (Honda Civic or Similar), but was given a Toyota Yaris 4 door (Subcompact - Toyota Yaris or similar). “DO NOT RENT FROM PAYLESS!!”

I rented from a Toronto dealer. The car had 100,000 miles on it. It smelled of cigar smoke, had many scratches on it and the back tires were badly worn. In fact one tire had a 3 inch cut and was worn down to the treads. I had to spend 2 hours to get the tire repaired. Unfortunately I missed seeing a tiny stone chip in the windshield and now they are saying that I did it and are forcing me to pay for it. I had been warned they were a rip off merchant, and this was right. Prior to booking this rental, I had conducted price comparisons through a number of sources, including my usual sources of rentals – Hertz. Listen closely, I rented from Payless a few months ago and had a terrible experience from waiting at the airport pick-up location for close to 1 hour then too many people waiting to get cars and car was definitely dirty. I made the awful mistake recently of renting a second time (they literally thanked me) when I booked and explained to agent that I needed the 407.
