    DO NOT RENT WITH PAYLESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This rental experience was horrible from the start. Booked the reservation online, so I was not aware that the rental location is 5 minutes from the airport by shuttle. Called and they were rude.Had to pull our luggage to a booth that looked like a bus stop and wait for some guy to pick us up. When we finally got to the strip mall they did not have our SUV and tried to convince us that a Kia station wagon was the same size.Waited around 30 minutes for an SUV to show up. Vehicle not clean and the gas tank light was on because it was completely empty!car ran okay but when we went to return it the bill was three times as much as the intial quote. The person at the desk could not change because her "manager was not there". Of course, we had to catch a flight and did not have time to wait.

If I could suggest anything it would be to NEVER book with this rental company!!

Cars are wrecks - check engine light on, flat tire, horn not working, cigarette burns, windshield cracks. Payless Car Rental not open early - must take cab to airport. Will not use again.

Payless Car Rental Montreal " hidden geographic restrictions on ' unlimited miles ' A few months ago I booked a car on Travelocity to go from Montreal to a location 600 km away and back again. Naturally like a fool I gravitated to the cheapest option " Payless car rental based in the Montreal airport hotel, an independent franchise. What a delight when on the screen I saw unlimited miles; however little did I realize there was a hidden clause on the next tab of the page under geographical r ...

Fuerteventura's Payless Car rental desk is in arrivals by the baggage belts and is the fastest service I have ever known.
About 3 minutes from arriving at the desk to walking away with the keys.
Brand new clean opel corsa and a very good all inclusive price

They use various webpages clearly stating that there is no mileage restriction. However, a mileage restriction is in the contract. The clerk does not indicate this when you take the car and you get hit on your return. Even if you notice it, it is difficult to get a car from an alternative provider when you are in another city. Add rude behavior to it and you got an ugly mixture!

I rented at Payless in Las Vegas, and it went really well (this is our second time renting from them). The only problem we had was that the guy got crabby with me for declining the insurance, gas package, and car upgrade and actually asked me if I had a word other than "no" in my vocabulary which I thought was kind of rude. I was aware I had to prove self coverage, which I did to avoid the $20 daily insurance charge. The line was short, it was quick in getting the car and the return was also v ...

We just rented an economy car from Payless in Denver. This company seems to have very different service and reviews depending where you go but in Denver they are excellent.
Bus arrived quickly at the airport, service was quick, we got a new car that worked perfectly. I bid for a low price on Priceline and then declined CDW and insurance because I had both extended on my home car insurance. One small point to note: the additional driver cost is lower if they are your spouse - this is written in ...

Payless is awful. They will quote the lowest price and then tell you at the airport that there are extra costs. I was stuck having to rent from Hertz at the last second in San Jose, Costa Rica.

I recommend the payment choices of paying up front with a debit card and the choice of using a credit card. I also recommend that clients are able to have someone to dispute any problem with and have it taken care of. Over all I plan to use a different car rental based off of my experience with this company.

I was just annoyed with the lack of honesty and respect the employee gave me when trying to pick up this car. What I got was exactly what I had expected a four door nice car with air and power everything he also tried to convince me that my insurance wouldnt cover that car if I got into an accident but I brought my policy to show him it would I just dont like someone trying to get me to buy what I dont need.

I don't know why people complain when they are offered upgrades. If you don't want a bigger nicer car then just say No.

I recently rented a car at Pay Less car rental near TPA airport Tampa, FL. I was there with my girl friend and I didn't find this comfortable at all. I was totally shocked by such unacceptable behavior from an agent. I seriously do not recommend to rent cars from this location.

Rented a car over the weekend, and $250 was charged on my credit card as a deposit. One week after returning the car, my deposit is yet to be returned to my credit card. The first time I called them, they blamed my credit card company by saying maybe my credit card takes a while to credit the return. The second time I called, I was informed Payless Car Rental had a problem with their credit card system and they hung up the phone on me.

We rented a car online from Payless Car Rental in Orlando, Florida. When we arrived to pick up the car, they tried to get us to upgrade the car and buy insurance, which we declined. The car was a Kia Rio with about 37000 miles on it. On the third day of our trip we went out to find that the car had a flat tyre. I called Payless, but since I had not purchased the insurance they told me it was my problem to get it fixed. My sister, myself and our daughters changed the tyre and put on the smal ...

At the Payless Car Rental counter in Orlando, FL we introduced ourselves and our reservation was found, but the agent asks what rate did they give you. He said that is too low, after I produced a copy of the reservation print out, then he tried the bait and switch offering two cars one for $10 more per day the other for $19 more per day. We said no, than tries to sell insurance and we declined. Since we declined insurance he wants us to sign a $250 deposit on the car, we are renting the car with ...

Payless Car Rental - Picked up car at Vegas Airport and had to fill out faults of this vehicle on my own in 115 degree heat. Delivered the faults I saw with vehicle to home office before I left the lot. While driving to Hotel I noticed a lot of issues with the car such as loud suspension noise, bad steering, heavy smoke smell, trunk was open and would not close and then I noticed several large dents in windshield. I telephoned car company and left a message regarding this car's issues and gav ...

I went to vegas over holidays.
The cheap car rental company I choose online called "payless" deny the orginal contract for $160 per week saying that it's only for inside Nevada, and charge for $250 instead. A 40% mark up.
And the car I get is a poor kia even without "L" and "L2" on transmission.
I usually rent cars from big chains for business, no problem at all. Next time I'd rather pay more for the big chain instead of the local ones.

Ever see that Seinfeld episode where Jerry has a reservation but they don't have the car--and they try the bait and switch? It was just like that, but worse. We were early for our reservation, and they didn't have the car we wanted. They lied and said they didn't have the car we reserved so they could get us to pay more for what they called "a pretend jag." We finally got a car after waiting an hour, but it was smaller than the one we reserved. By that point we didn't have a choice, we just want ...

WARNING!! DO NOT RENT FROM Payless Car Rental!!! A reservation that was supposed to $203 for 8 days (5/21/04 - 5/29/04, became $400! when we went to pick it up. Trapped at an offsite lot, so we had to take it.
