I have been using the services for 4years and this is the WORST ever INTERNATIONAL BANK i came across.

    Arrogant Executives
Never ever fulfill what the bank promises!
Charge alot! (sole aim of the bank is to exploit the customers and get money)

I have had an HSBC credit card for almost 10 years and am APPALLED by their low standard of customer service and the abysmal way that they have lied to me over the last few months while supposedly attempting to sort out a fraudulent dispute. Do a favour to your stress levels and open a credit card elsewhere!

I am very meticulous and pay my bills. HSBC did not send me all my monthly paper statements (bills), therefore I'd miss payment on those occasions. The first lost paper statement maybe? (which I reported and complained about)but 3 in over less than a year... note: I have received all other companies bills through the postal service always! After missing payment a few times..They raised my interest rate from 13.99% to 29.99%. I went through hell in order to get it reduced, a complaint to the Bett ...

I was a new customer - recently transferred my balance to HSBC Credit Card. On the day my payment was due, I tried to make a payment over the phone and/or on their Website. After the payment process, I was then told there would be a $15 charge because I was making the payment on the date due. THE DATE DUE!!!! I'm trying to make a payment on time and I'm being penalized????? I tried talking to customer service (India of course with horrible English skills) and was denied any flexibility. I am qu ...

If this review would allow a negative number out of 5, HSBC would a -5. I am nothing but frustrated, furious and upset with HSBC. I had (notice past tense) the HSBC Platinum card for almost 2 years. I have absolutely perfect credit and spent plenty on the card, yet they could not give me anything less than a 17.99% interest rate. Ridiculous, I am holding an AMEX at 10% and a Visa at 7%. The customer service is horrible, seems the call center is out sourced to another country. They were les ...

Make a purchase through the HSBC Retail Services account in Jan of 06. Paid a horrific amount of interest at 18.9% for a "Recreational Vechicle." They decided to repo my "vehicle" over a $90 late payment when I've been making payments and was willing to make payments. They refused to let me pay the rest of the $90 and come-to-date and require a full payoff amount to receive the vehicle back. No service between the hours of 4pm and 8am make it more difficult to talk to them. And they refuse to he ...

I am practically lost for words... I have had my HSBC credit card for about 8 years or so - I opened the account with a 14.9% APR (which was pretty high back then). My main credit card purchases were with Captial One APR 6.9%.

About four months ago they hiked my 14.9% APR to - can you beleive it - to 24.9%!!!! Outrageous. And I have just found out today - without any warning from them - that yet again its been upped to 27.9% APR!!!

This is crazy. I just cant see how they have the power to in ...

My HSBC Credit Card was obtained when there was a 15 month 0% interest offer on purchases which is fine for what I wanted it for! It was easy to apply for and found it was a good acceptance rate. Uk based call centres - quick and easy to get through to. Although it was difficult to amend payment amount and I was unable to find out if there are any discounts when using the card.

It's a good card...I have no problems with it, I pay my bill every month in full and thats that. They don't give you the hard sell like some other companies can sometimes do.

HSBC Commercial card it does have a few good points such as the main support team are fairly easy to deal with and normally quite helpful.
While I have no issues with HSBC as a bank don't use their commercial card unless you have a lot of spare time to be calling them every day to get payments cleared!

Software and executive not updated. If any question is asked they put you on hold for at least 20 min then they give wrong information. Later their senior also does the same. When you ask for an explanation about any dispute they unable to solve the dispute. If they are wrong they try tohide it by offering bonus points as compensation but donot reverse the charges which are wrong. If you deny making the payment they the threathen you.

HSBC Credit Card do have call centers in other countries, but they also have call centers in English speaking countries. If you call in and the person doesn't speak English, why don't you just hang up and try back? I'm sure they wouldn't want to talk to someone who is frustrated and can't understand them either.

Also - I believe the outbound telemarketing agreement is part of the cardholders agreement you get when you apply for the card.

It doesn't help your credit to use cards for emergenc ...

My husband applied for a HSBC MAstercard for both of us as it had a )5 interest rate. He received a letter asking him to Phone them which he did. He was on the phone for 30 minutes and all they wanted was to see a copy of his last pay slip...fair enough we had this faxed from our local branch. Then we waited over a week for his card to arrive. There was no card for me so he phoned again. This resulted in us receiving a form. We filled this in and returned it. He then got another letter asking hi ...

Other credit cards have an automated activation process. This one required sitting though a live person going through a very long script for monthly "protection" fees. The way they phrased it was they were signing me up now. Took saying no seven or eight times and finally saying I was hanging up. The HSBC credit card website has been non-functional since I activated the card. Can't log in, can't check balance, can't make payments. As far as I know, the website doesn't work at all...Calling to ...

One day I was coming back from Heathrow and we had to put some petrol. Unluckily ,I left my wallet at home and HSBC card was the only I had with me. How surprised and ashamed was i when I tired to pay £20 and the card was declined. My wife saved the day and paid the bill. Immediately after arrival i contacted HSBC and was informed that my after review of my account they decided to cancel my account. Strange as I used it often and I always paid all back. Also, when travelling in Europe I c ...

A few months ago we noticed a credit card in my wife's name had charges that seemed unfamiliar. This HSBC card included charges for AIG Insurance and Pro-Budget and Pro-Buyers... none of which she was familiar with.

In researching this, we find that, basically, these are promoted by HSBC. Companies or representatives are allowed to call HSBC customers and set up an account (which is not fully clear... or even to someone else on the phone other than the cardholder) for which they will bill yo ...

I am disabled and keep a few credit cards for EMERGENCY use, should a major medical issue come up. That HSBC card was one of them. I intend to post anywhere and everywhere I can about them, along with writing to my senators and the house banking committee. It won't change this terrible company any, but if I can keep ONE PERSON from doing business with this company it will be worth it.

I have had 2 HSBC credit cards. The first I had for a couple of years until I canceled it and applied for a better deal on another HSBC credit card. I have had the 2nd card now for over 3 years. I called 2 weeks ago to cancel this credit card since I have others with better rates I now use. They said it was closed, but they haven't closed it yet. It now shows I have a 5.00 credit limit, and customer service told me that they don't know when they will actually close it. I decided to check o ...
