I fitted these thinking they would last 20000-30000 miles that's 30000-45000Kms. No such luck - I have just had to replace the rear tyres after less than 10000 miles and the fronts might last another couple of thousand. Poor wear characteristics or what! My car is also underpowered for its weight at 67 BHP ands 0-60 mph is 20 secs so I am not shredding them at all.
I won't be buying these again any time soon!

These Goodyear Eagle NCT 5 tyres were great when new. Quiet and comfortable with reasonable grip, though handling was not as sharp as my old Firestone Firehawks. HOWEVER, there must be something wrong with these NCT 5s. I've had these tyres for several years and it's about time to replace them. Over the years, I've had to get the tyres re-balanced about every 4-6 months or 2000-3000 kms. These darned things have cost me a fortune in wheel balancing over their life and I'm not buying another set of on-going trouble ever again. I've also had numerous wheel alignments done, just in case - and every time, it has been a waste of money, as the alignments have been always within tolerance. Also, as they get to about 1mm of their tread markers, the tyres become extremely harsh and practically lose all wet grip.

In general a tyre to avoid if you like to drive progressively. OK for general round town or straight motorway driving, or if you are a slow driver. This is only my opinion, and having read the other reviews, some folk have nothing but praise for them. Perhaps I have got a set from a dodgy batch?

I have had NCT tyres for twelve years, from the NCT3's to the current NCT5's, and I have been happy with them, grippy in the dry and the wet. But this latest generation of eco NCT5's are a different case, I have noticed from new they are not as grippy in the dry and more noticeably in the wet, probably ok for motorway driving, but not for me as I live in the country with windy roads. Also there is an increased road noise. These tyres are said to reduce fuel consumption, but not for me, just the same as the previous. I would not get NCT5's any more, most likely go for the Goodyear Excellence range.

Slightly cheaper the Bridgestone Potenza but not as worth if something when wrong on highway.
