Average life, about 32,000km (has had regular wheel alignment checks and regular rotation, I am an automotive mechanic) but I agree with other reviews re, tyre balance and wet handling. Tyres have needed rebalancing at regular intervals. Grip is OK dry but give zero confidence when driving in wet conditions. Tread depth is now averaging 2.5 mm and wet grip is even worse. I am changing them before they get to the minimum legal tread depth of 1.6mm, would hate to think how they would perform then. I will not be buying NCT5's again, there are better choices out there.

I drive a Toyota Corolla on all kinds of road conditions in South Africa and Botswana and these Goodyear Eagle NCT 5 tyres, now 7500 km on my second change, have stood up to every test. There are better tyres, I agree, but certainly not at this price.

Got a reasonable price for 4 eagle NCT 5 tyres fitted to the car. The wife normaly drives it. I drive it when we are towing the caravan. First time out it was raining and towing the caravan, the tyres did nothing but slip and had hardly any grip. Not much better when dry. Without the caravan they are a bit better but in the wet they give you no confidence at all and if you run a manhole cover you can feel the front slide. On looking in to why these tyre were not as good as the originals it was b ...

I put these on as I wanted balance between grip and longevity and a few people said these sit between Pirelli and Michelin.

I have had a nightmare getting them balanced and indeed the car is going back in tomorrow for another go. I had the back step out on me unexpectedly in the wet the other day as I took a corner at what I would say is a normal speed, over a brow. The lift in weight seemed to allow the Goodyear Eagle NCT 5 tyre to give up on me. Held it ok but with a bus coming could have ...

Done about 16,000 miles on a Mercedes C180K saloon - these Goodyear Eagle NCT 5 tyres came with the car. They seem a very hard wearing and hard compound and this is ok in the dry. In the wet / ice / snow they are terrible and lose grip very quickly on corners (I've driven to police Class 1 standard so I'm pretty sure it's not just me!). I came on this site looking for advice on alternatives, and thought I'd share my experiences.

Goodyear Eagle is a very bad tyre, grip is poor on dry roads and dangerous on wet roads. Wouldn't recommend these tyres if u plan to drive over 100kph. The bald yokohama's i had before these had more grip.

these Goodyear Eagle NCT 5 tyres are incredably noisy, have just had two put on the front of my people carrier, done about 1.200km on them and the drive drove me nuts because of the noise. will get rid within the month; they are that bad!

These Goodyear Eagle NCT 5 tyres were great when new. Quiet and comfortable with reasonable grip, though handling was not as sharp as my old Firestone Firehawks. HOWEVER, there must be something wrong with these NCT 5s. I've had these tyres for several years and it's about time to replace them. Over the years, I've had to get the tyres re-balanced about every 4-6 months or 2000-3000 kms. These darned things have cost me a fortune in wheel balancing over their life and I'm not buying another set ...

Have these goodyear eagle nct tyres on a Subaru Forester, did 40K+ on the first set, in snow, on gravel, highways, motorways and around town (typical New Zealand conditions) also towing a boat long distances.... wet and dry grip have both been exceptional (4wd may help with this) am now on my second set. In 215/60R/16 V rated tyres, you'd be hard pressed to find better in my opinion.

The Goodyear Eagle NCT 5 has long Tyre Life in average to dry conditions. 55 000km in South Africa. Good roadholding and attractively priced in a rare size.

Poor performance on unsurfaced roads with a guaranteed flat should you venture out more than 10 kms at a time on dirt roads.

Good overall on-road tyre for medium to high speed SUV travel.

The majority of tyres perform well for most drivers. This is no exception. A decent tyre in all respects. Most people in a 'blind driving' couldn't tell one tyre from another. This is a good balance of tyre life, wet grip, dry grip, noise level, and build strength that will be fine for the majority of drivers.

Not a bad tyre but I think there are better tyres out there for the price that these tyres cost.

OK on if they come with a vehicle, otherwise the exorbitant price far outweighs any advantage.

If you live in a dry country, or avoid driving in the wet, this tyre will give exceptional wear and be fairly comfortable (both absorbing pot hole noise and being quite). But I live north England where it doesn't rain it pours! Even without an enthusiastic driving style the wet weather grip gives cause for concern and this affects both cornering (or lack of!) and braking. Due to the tyres weakness in the wet I cannot recommend it.

Pretty much satified with the Goodyear Eagle tire, mostly because I live in southern Spain, and rain isn't very often here.
Little disappointed when road gets wet.

Although the grip and handling in the dry seem ok its another story in wet or even damp conditions.
I have these tyres as a standard fit to a Diahatsu Sirion 1.3 so the tyres handling the power should not be a problem but in the wet the tyres will spin even in 3rd gear. Pulling away from a junction can be quite heart stopping because even if there was plenty of distance between myself and the approaching vehicle by the time the tyres actually find purchase and you have forward momentum the traff ...

In general a tyre to avoid if you like to drive progressively. OK for general round town or straight motorway driving, or if you are a slow driver. This is only my opinion, and having read the other reviews, some folk have nothing but praise for them. Perhaps I have got a set from a dodgy batch?
