Good Points: Brilliant grip in the dry. Rim protection very good.

Bad Points: Continental Contact Sport 2 is better in the wet but nervertheless good. Maxx is very noisy.

General comments: Dunlop SP Sport Max's price is only slightly cheaper than the Continentals, which I had before but had to replace the front ones with Dunlop Maxx as they were the only 19 inch ones in stock at the Mobile fitter after getting a massive puncture hitting a pothole. (I am trying to claim compensation from the council)

I respect Dunlop tyres as they are amongst the Premium brands. I've only ever had either Michelin, Bridgestone, Continental or Dunlop tyres ever fitted to the cars I've owned. All are reasonably competent tyres. With the Dunlops, any models lower than the Maxx are al little inadequate for grip. Even the SP01s aren't that good. But the Maxx are very very competent.

Superb grip in all conditions cause a bit of "drone" on the motorway may inspire too much confidence in your cars grip.
    Overall an excellent product.

If you have Maybach or a Rolls Royce then you bought this car for the refinement and probably wouldn't find the noise increase (although minimal) very acceptable! Mind you if you bought one of those cars then the price probably wouldn't bother you all that much!
If however you have a high performance car with an exhaust that would course your Grandads pacemaker to skip a beat when you fire it up then the increase in noise ain't really gonna be that much of an issue! The price is more realistic! ...
