“ABSOLUTE BUNCH OF JOKERS ”

Had a roof leak - tried to get through to their claims centre - spent fortune on phone once id located their extremely well disguised claims number - ended up with an Indian Call Centre who put me through to their Car Insurance department !!!. Absoluet bunch of idiots !!.

“Home insurance no not published & total rip off!!”

Home insurance no not published (or at least not very easily found on their website - the published no is for car insurance. This is a premium rate (8p minute) no. I was on the phone several minutes while the agent tried my policy no which didn't register on their system - it was only after she asked me about my vehicle that we both realised I was through to wrong dept - she put me through to home insurance, but it was Amiral! They then transferred me back to Elephant Car insurance, who found then left me holding while they found the no for me - Elephant Home Insurance new policies - it was only then I was transferred through to correct no where a very pleasant lady cancelled my policy BUT - there was a £50 charge for this as I am in the middle of the policy!

“POOR SERVICE HOME CONTENTS BUILDING INSURANCE”

I KNOCKED MY TELEVISION OFF THE UNIT WHICH I ACCEPT WAS MY OWN FAULT BUT WAS COVERED BY ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE AND IT HAS BROKE I PHONED TO BE TOLD SOMEONE WOULD CALL ME BEFORE CLOSING TIME BUT BY 4 30 THEY HADNT SO I CALLED ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT I WOULD HAVE TO WAIT 5 DAYS FOR A CLAIMS ASSESSOR TO BE IN CONTACT WITH ME AND I WOULD HAVE TO DO WITHOUT A TELEVISION TILL THEY HAD SEEN THE TELEVISION. I ASKED IF I COULD GO OUT AND PURCHASE A TV TILL THEY ASSESSED THE OLD ONE TO BE TOLD THEY COULD NOT AUTHORISE THE PURCHASE AND WOULDNT GUARANTEE I WOULD BE REFUNDED SO TILL THEN I HAVE TO DO WITHOUT A TV I PAID MY PREMIUM A MONTH EARLY FOR THE SECOND YEAR RUNNING BUT WILL NOT BE RENEWING FOR ANOTHER YEAR ONCE THIS POLICY RUNS OUT,I THINK THIS IS POOR SERVICE ESPECIALLY FOR SOMEONE WHO PAID THE SAME DAY THE RENEWAL CAME IN I WONT HOLD MY BREATH ABOUT REPLACING THE TV WITH A NEW ONE AND AM ONLY GLAD IT WAS A TELEVISION THAT I WAS CLAIMING FOR AND NOTHING MAJOR LIKE A FIRE OR FLOOD AS THE TIME YOU HAVE TO WAIT IT RIDICULOUS ONLY THING THAT WAS GOOD ABOUT THE CLAIM WAS THE PERSON DEALING WITH IT WAS VERY POLITE

ELEPHANT TRIED TO TAKE MONEY FOM MY ACCOUNT WITHOUT TELLING ME WHEN MY POLICY CAME TO THE END.NEW NOTHING ABOUT THEY WERE GOING TO TAKE IT OUT VIA AUTOMATIC RENEWAL.LUCKILY I HAD A NEW DEBIT CARD.AS WITH MOST INSURANCE COMPANIES AFTER THE FIRST YEAR THEY INCREASE YOUR PREMIUMS,SO DONT BE COMPLACENT IF YOU ARE WITH ELEPHANT OR THEY WILL STING YOU

“Do not under any circumstances insure your home with...”

Do not under any circumstances insure your home with Elephant. I was burgled in August 2010, yet despite many many calls they still have not processed my claim as of the 4th November 2010.
They will tell you anything to get you off the phone, they never do what they say they will do or call you back.
They are a truly dreadful organisation, please be warned!

ELEPHANT INSURANCE HEATH LAMBERT.
had insurance with this firm for over 2 years no problems.
then i started getting water coming threw my roof. got a builder out and he said it looked like storm damage.
THEN i tried getting hold of elephant. THAT WAS FUN. was kept on hold for about 32 minutes each time and then the line would go dead.
this happened about 4 times each day. eventually i found an email address and emailed them. heard nothing back at all. during which time i still had water coming in threw my roof and down my bedroom walls.
after i recieved no contact i thought that i would try and get threw to the sales dept. it must have rang a whole of 2 times before someone answered it.
they couldnt understand how i was unable to get threw to the claims dept. ESPECIALLY AS THEY ADVERTISE THAT THEY WILL DEAL WITH YOUR CLAIM WITHIN 24 HOURS.
Ithen spoke to someone in the claims dept who said that they could not find my paper work and that they doupted that i would have accidental cover.
I then explained that i DID have accidental cover. but i had not been walking on my roof and accidentally kicked off a load of tiles.
at which point he said he would call me back.
he never did.
i then rang back 3 days later and asked what was happening and they said as there hadnt been a storm in the past 30 days they would not help.
in all it took nearly 3 weeks to get to the decission that they were not to help.
God help anyonewhose house burnt down and had to rely on this firm for help
didnt think they deserved any stars.

We were burgled whilst we were away on holiday. The claims service was appalling, we needed our garage door repaired/boarded up but they didn't send the fax to the repairers until 3 days later.
Several times we have had to wait over 40 minutes on the phone to speak to someone.
They are abysmal stay well away and spend a few quid more getting a service that counts when you need it!!

I'd just like to know how a company such as Elephant Home Insurance are unable to offer direct debit facility???? Don't have direct debit facility, which I hadn't realised until one of their reps called for my 'new' card details, which they have been debiting every month. When I said this was the first time I'd heard of this, rep hung up.

“I have not re insured with Elephant Home Insurance and...”

I have not re insured with Elephant Home Insurance and would never recommend them. Claims dept telephone line closes at around 5:30. they don't call back, and they call asking the same questions to report back to the underwriters, you may save some money every month going with them but it's not worth it. I may have called them over 20 times now, still getting no where

“Elephant Home Insurance don't provide the home...”

Elephant Home Insurance don't provide the home insurance. In my case, they acted as brokers for ANOTHER broker called "Heath Lambert". The actual insurance was provided by Legal & General, who so far have been very helpful. This took two days to sort out while my ground floor was flooded with sewage.

Go to an insurer who has proper 24/7 support.
