Tesco home insurance dealt with our claim very quickly,after our glass table shattered into a thousand pieces damaging our dining chair. Thank you Tescos.

I think an insurance company should be judged by how they deal with claims. Its all very well shopping around for the cheapest quote, but remember why you are buying the insurancce.
In April we had a major water leak at our home, the damage affected the entire ground floor, and the total claim was in excess of £11k. Cunningham Lindsay, who were the loss adjusters, handled our claim efficiently and compassionately, and didnt quibble about the cost. Tesco Insurance settled the claim within a week of the works being completed. I have just renewed our home insurance, and didnt even bother shopping around. After our experience I just feel comfortable with them.

Good service. And I have always used Tesco for almost everything. But suddenly they have become very expensive and are no longer competitive. It's a shame because they have always had such good service and been on the cutting edge of products.

I read reviews on here after realising I had a potential major claim and was worried by low ratings. While I wont pretend the whole process was easy, Tesco (via loss adjusters GAB robins) delivered what the policy said. I find it hard to fault insurers who do what they say they will do under the contract. It may have helped that I did not try to get very last penny from them by inflating claim or pushing for what wasnt covered under contract.

Found that with Contents & buildings cover quote, if you make contents cover £40,000 it cost a lot less than if it were £39,000. Didn't know why, just bought there and then.
