Hi Im sorry to hear of your horrendous experience at the hands of them, I too have had over a year of the same hell, misery and hardship battling with this organisation. They have cost me my business following a flood at my trading premises it took them two months to even come out. I feel they have tried every disgusting trick annd bully tactic in the book to misguide, mislead, intimidate and cheat me. When this didnt work I believe their statement taker then tried to blackmail me . When this didnt work they tried to ignore my complaint for two months. When this didnt work they said that they had sent correspondence in the post that must have got lost.
When I rang their claims solutions representativve he told me what I felt were bare faced lies. When I became upset on the phone their loss adjustor screamed at me and demanded I go and get a bank loan and act as my own insurer to put right the water damaged premises and buy emergency stock . All this time I had no income and no help from them, let alone any compassion.
As a single parent I cant tell you what a misery they have made my life and how this organisation has gone out of its way to ruin both my business and my life.
Even their senior managemennt will not offer any accountability and have purposely evaded the truth when confronted.
I submitted a SAR ( subject Access Request ) to proove what I had discussed with them, they really didnt want to comply with this but eventually they had to and I have sent this to the Ombudsman who is now dealing with them on my behalf.
Gab Robins are callous , they will try at any opportunity to twist your words and discredit your claim and your name if you let them. Even if you say something quite innocently they will try to mis construe it.
Definately document everything, save every email and include every detail in every email to cover yourself.
Gab Robins will also give you conflicting instructions then they will dispute what they have told you. I have never met such toxic and unprofessional, dishonest people.
It comes to something when the Loss Adjustors are the ones commiting fraud by falsifying documents then when theyre caught out by META DATA their CEO has to apologise.
GAB Robins still maintain that their has been no wrong doing even now 13 months on .
It has cost me my business that I had worked so hard to build up for the last six years. It has made my life a living hell and caused my health to suffer, I have not worked since.
I just hope that The Ombudsman will uphold my complaint and investigate the dubious and unnacceptable practices of Gab Robins.
Stand firm against this organisation, otherwise they will walk all over you .

I am sorry to hear of your plight with GAB Robins. I too am having an absolute nightmare with them. I had to make a business claim and they were assigned and the words appauling do not even come close to them! I am about to lose everything because of their incompetence and rudeness not to mention that they put obstacle after obstacle in the way of the claim. Its a disgrace and the insurance companies hide behind them. I hae gone to the Ombudsman but the lies that they and the insurance company are saying is a joke. I sympathise with you and I will be taking them and Hiscox to court if they do not sort this out. I hope that you get it resolved soon. Take care
