Flooded in 2009 - Appointed a Loss Adjuster who was useless - An apparently "Approved" Contractor who had to do EVERY job two or three times. Tried to communicate our concerns with Tesco which fell on deaf ears. Given a timescale of approx. 12 weeks to complete and they were still on our property two years later when finally threw them off the job. “Escape of water”

The initial (first few weeks) seemed positive with all the right words coming out. Dryers went in an these did thei work in 3 weeks it was ready for the next stage although I was concerned wet items that were clearly damaged were not removed (carpets) then the fun started. 4 months after this the house is still bare and un started. tesco i would give less than 1 star, bad customer service passed to about 5 different people. engineer didnt even write the report up correct, so it took 6 weeks to replace. and even then they offered £160 to buy a new washing machine appsolute joke AVOId!!!!!!!… Read Full Review

“One star is too much! read all the reviews before you buy”

Terrible customer service. I had a water leak behind a fitted shower. I was told that I would have to pay £450 excess when I thought it was only £250. I then realised that the voluntary excess is in addition to the compulsory. After discussing with Tesco I decided not to claim as I didn't have £450. However, when I called back to request that I cancel the voluntary excess I was told that I can't I can only increase it. “Useless home insurance”

Recently suffered a burglary (also stole a car on my drive). The motor insurance appears to be moving relatively smoothly (partly, I suspect because the underwriting has been liaising with the police). However, the home (contents) insurance is appalling. I have contacted their claims line 4 times. Advised that they have sent a claim form out a week ago - still hasn't arrived. “Don't ever use”

Just tried to cancel insurance after a traumatic event and the robbing Tesco bank charged me to cancel. They don't believe in loyalty they just want your money. Being a club card holder and shopper at their stores its like being kicked when your down. I WILL NEVER go to one of their stores again. I believe Tesco insurance is the most horrible one to come out once you put your foot in. All that I wanted was to cancel the policy because I left he country giving the house on rent. I called in saying that I have given the house on rent and requested to cancel it. I had it. Tesco would not let me do that asking for the details of the tenants, number of tenants to the names of the tenants etc. I had to call twice from abroad and still can't cancel it. “Dreadful Claims Service”

Following storm damage in December, Tesco are still denying having received quotations for the work, which have now been sent to them four separate times. It's now nearly three months later and we still cannot get their approval to proceed with the works. It's absolutely hopeless trying to reach them by phone, since on most occasions after the pre-recorded message, you simply get cut-off. “Storm Damage they wont pay out for”

After the terrible weather we had from Christmas our roof tiles were breached and we sprung a leak. We done all we could to stop water going any further by placing buckets under the leaking roof. Called Tesco to put a claim in and made us feel like we was criminals. Then told us to call a building company to put a sheet over our roof and they would reimburse IF our claim was successful! “Tesco bandits”

I paid my insurance with them for five years this is my last,,I have claimed twice. The first being back in 2009 where I had burst pipes this took them over 11 months to sort out , after initial person came out they gave the job to builders who showed up took down details of what was needed never to be seen again,solicitors gave up on them coming out sent another firm In and there heaters broke down 2 days into job starting, then because of this I had damp behind my tiles, these were taken… Read Full Review

I've been using Tesco home insurance for just under a year and I will never be returning as a customer to any of their services!!! Fair enough their prices are cheap, but when it comes to cancelling or complaining I am appalled by the customer service I received!!! They should be wanting to keep their customers happy so we recommend!! I have nothing but bad things to say about Tesco! “Be Careful!!”

We were insured with Tesco's Home Insurance, they were great for 3 years covering us if anything went wrong. After 3 years however they decided that they would no longer cover us, no warnings, no flexibility just no cover any longer. Because our insurance covered everything from our phones to our bikes (Personal possessions, where most of our claims were made) we now are unable to get even basic insurance elsewhere. “If I could give zero stars I would!!!”

Bathroom leaked into the kitchen causing considerable damage but Tesco were only interested in telling me my excess wouldnt be the £200 it states in the policy, but the 'extras' would bring an excess up to £650 and it would only cover me for a tiny bit of the work and not the repairs to the pipes! I'm sure plenty of other companies are all working the same, but it seems a joke to pay for insurance when they dont actually cover you for the times when you actually need it!… Read Full Review

“No fuss changes and then refund when my brother died”

The policy was the best on offer in features, cashback and for the premium which was £100 cheaper than the next as Mum's estate in executor hands. This solicitor executor then insisted we changed the policy to include them although they didn't tell us that we needed to do that at outset. (Back ground is solicitor is just churning their bill with unnecessary letters etc). My claim was a burst pipe and water damage valued at £700 ,but Tesco loss adjuster claimed the ceiling artex contained asbestos and had to be removed we beleived them my first mistake!
