Good Points: Excellent frame geometry, light and responsive Good range of kit for the money, including hydralic disks, fox rear shock and Marazzochi front forks
Bad Points: None, except I don't get out on it enough
General comments: I bought an ex-demo Kona Kikapu 2003 as a way of getting a X country bike with full suspension. What an easy sale for the retailer, and I took it home feeling there must be something wrong. The first run out I had flat pedals on and couldn't get used to the geometry of the frame or how light and responsive it was compared to my previous Saracen Toughtrax.
A few outings later fitted with Time Atac pedals and adjusted a few time for a better seat position and WOW what a ride.
The rear shock keeps the back on the ground over the most demanding XC and the fronts take everything I throw them at. Maintenance is easy (except the forks which have to go to the dealer) but otherwise its a dream.
Dissapointed to see Kona have downgraded this years model, you have to buy the Kikapu Deluxe to get the same kit, but I can't recommend it enough.
