Bad Points: Only two Scarts

General comments: This has to be my very best buy ever with regards to TV.

From the time I un-packed the Sony KP44DX2U Rear Projection Television I loved it. It is big but by god it deserves to be. When put next to my old 36" TV this looks a monster.

Gone are the days that rear projection meant sub-standard picture and awkward viewing angles. The picture is bright punchy and extremely clear and contrasty. The colours are beautiful.

This unit is a 100hz screen which pays dividends when coupled with a decent DVD player as the picture almost jumps out at you. Big screen needs big sound and the sony does not dissapoint. Excellent low frequency response give a fullness of bass which is a dream when watching movies and a pleasure to the vast array of music channels.

The 44dx2 also comes with a built in digital decoder, terrestrial, which is a god-send. This may go someway to explain why the unit only has two scart sockets, which I view as a minus point.

Viewing angle is good. You do not have to sit directly in front of it. However the only time I have notice a great change is when you stand up but who stands up to watch TV.

You need good space for this TV to appreciate its qualities but it can be viewed from quite close without any loss in quality.
