    DO NOT INSURE YOUR CAR USING THIS BROKER.they canceled my husband's car insurance and then wrote and told us after the event. I phoned to enquire what had happened to be told that I had to pay £133.00 cancelation charges and set up a new policy. I told them I didn't want a new policy I wanted the original policy reinstated, they saiid that was not possible untill I paid the money. I didn't owe them any money. They have now refused to release my NCD to my new insurer and have instructed solicitors. I am not a person that takes kindly to bullying tactics and will be replying to the solictors as well as reporting them to the FSA. They charge for every little change on a policy, so what you think is cheap car insurance can end up costing you more. Beware of this type of broker.

    AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS! Complete mickey mouse company. Cancelled my policy twice without telling. First time because they didn't have proof of no claims bonus but they'd had it the previous week. Seconf time because they didn't have my new direct debit details ONE WEEK before my installment was due. I didn't even owe them any money. In nine months of being insured with them we have spent almost a week driving uninsured and yet totally unaware.

    Due to employment issues with pay being late, I eventually recieved a default notice. However, before hand, I had no notification from the bank or AutoDirect that my payment had failed. I only knew when the default notice arrived AFTER the termination notice period had expired, thus cancelling my insurance without my knoeledge. I had even been driving my car!!     I have had no end of problems with my dealings with this company.

    I would not recommend Auto Direct to my worst enemy.

    I made it clear in my application that i had another car (luckily insired through More Than)
    After they had signed me up, taken my money and sent me all the documents they have now told me that i will have to pay another £153 as my no claim bonus (9+ years worth) is not valid for their insurance.

    It seems auto direct car insurance cannot even manage to send me a renewal notice letter....even after I've telephoned them three times to request this. I am now URGENTLY awaiting a cover note for a courtesy vehicle which they have frequently failed to post (after assuring me they had already done so). I could not honestly recommend Auto Direct from my own past experience, I always feel they are unreliable and am now seeking another insurance company.

    They said if I wanted to pay double money in the current month I could do it, otherwise they would leave it as it is. Being on a pension this was out of the question for me so I asked them to cancel and went back to my old supplier. Now they hassle me every few days with first l00 then l20 now l30pound bills. The staff in the office (one girl in particular) are very helpful.

    When my policy runs out in May I WILL NOT be renewing with Auto Direct Insurance. My premiums never go down, despite moving/changing cars, yet they are quick to increase. They even wanted £20 just to change the address on my policy. Only recommendation I GIVE say is STAY AWAY!

    I sold my car and advised AutoDirect Car Insurance of my cancellation of the insurance a couple of days after the sale, I e-mailed their head office and gave them all the facts, then I received a default payment letter (obviously I had cancelled the direct debit) I thought the letter had crossed, hence re-sent the original e-mail with another covering e-mail, still no acknowledgement and response, they are now claiming the e-mails were not receieved, but fortunately I have kept the sent mails as ...

    After being insured with Auto Direct for four months, they now claim that I made a mistake on my (online) application, meaning that I am not entitled to the amount of discount they gave me, this is untrue, but, being an online insurer, I cannot prove differently.
    So I now have to pay an extra £70 .

    I was happy to sign up to auto direct at first as they seemed very cheap. Unfortunately they are worse than all the others!!!!! tried to charge me nearly 200 pound to cancel my policy !!!

    Have dealt with Auto Direct Car Insurance for 2 years now for car insurance and never had a problem. In fact, I have now done my home insurance with them as well. Also used them for travel insurance last year and again had no problems.

    It took two months to finalise my car insurance with Auto Direct. I tried to send a fax confirming my no-claims bonus 5 times, and my previous insurer from New Zealand tried 2 times, and every time Auto Direct told me that they did not receive any of them. It is only after sending a 3rd email to their customer services and following it up with 2 phone calls that they finally confirmed that they received my no-claims bonus certificate.
