In the event of a claim, do NOT expect Privilege to aid you in any constructive way. I drove into the back of a lorry which was reversing out of a petrol station into the main road on which I was travelling. Of course the lorry's tachograph showed no movement. They don't whilst reversing over short distances at low speed. But, because the logistics company which owned the vehicle commissioned a 'tachograph analysis' from a retired copper which claimed that I drove around a 90 degree turn at... (read more)

Truly awful service, went with them as they appeared to be the best price, which was a terrible mistake. Had a claim recently where the other driver drove straight into the back of me whilst I was waiting at a set of red lights, this was actually videoed via an in-car video, so it is clear I was stopped and waiting even when they were still over 100metres away, yet the driver still drove straight into me. Took days of constant trying on their "Helpline" to report the collision and they... (read more)

Worst company to insure your car with. Wife's car written off and have been offered £1200 less than market value. They try and talk you into accepting the offer, and just say that's the book value. After reading countless reviews both on this site and others, it seems there is a common theme with Privelege- They are generally good in providing an efficient sales service, but in the unfortunate event that you need to make a claim, the service they provide falls considerably short of being acceptable. FURTHER WARNING....I had car insurance with Privelage. Cancelled it as above as car was off the road (sorn).....and as my (newly) ex husband had paid, the premiums I had no way of checking what was happening.
I was eventually shocked to find out that I was being chased for outstanding monies by Moorcroft Debt Recovery and despite what must be 20 or more phone calls, finally thought had solved my problem. Privelage confirmed verbally a few weeks ago that they had paid ex husband back over £500 and I had a letter confirm a further £130ish paid back. However, today I (as policy holder) received yet another letter from Moorcroft, telling me that Privalege are saying they've paid back nothing and I'm still being chased and threatend (bailiff next I think) for an outstanding amount (despite the fact I do not owe it). Yet again put on hold....I have another 2 weeks grace......I despair. Moral of the story - be warned - happy to take your money but not to sort what is a stressful problem !!
