“Privilege car insurance avoid at all costs”

Written on: 15/07/2016 by Julian-parry1974 (1 review written)

Avoid at all costs, terrible customer service I have never been messed about so much by a insurance company. No reply by email, 40 minutes on hold on the phone and still unable to rectify the mistakes they have made. NCB is a problem for them and they take more money out of your bank than you agreed. Total ripoff. I have used much better insurance companies these are better avoided. … Read Full Review

Written on: 22/06/2016 by Alejandral353 (1 review written)

My car insurance was up for renewal so i got my renewal documents and compared the price in the market only to find it was quite high. I called Privilege and spoke to an advisor who was totally unhelpful nd rude from the start! He told me that they dont allow any haggling on the total cost, and was extremly rude!!!!!! Keep away from this company...!!!! They dont have a clue on how to treat customers....OUT OF ORDER....!!!!!!… Read Full Review

“Money grabbing greedy company”

Written on: 26/05/2016 by Davidport14land (1 review written)

With 16 days to go before my insurance with privilege was due for renewal I rang them to tell them about my new address. For this quick and simple change to their records, (No doubt done as I was speaking to their member of staff on the phone) I was charged what their representative called a mid term alteration administration fee of over 26 pounds. She suggested they had to change the headings? on my documents? well, unless they're using typewriters or have a pile of pre-printed letters with my… Read Full Review

“Hope to never have to insure with them again !”

Written on: 11/04/2016 by livid66 (1 review written)

Innocent party in accident, claims department useless, customer complaints department arrogant. No help to there customers, no regular contact or updates. Part of directline group, there customer complaints are just as arrogant. Might be the cheapest on some occasions but certainly nowhere near the best. If you are unfortunate to be the innocent party, then do not rely on Privilege to do anything for you… Read Full Review

“Go with someone else!”

Written on: 03/04/2016

I have been with Privilege ever since I was learning to drive, my dad was already with this company so I became a names driver on his car whilst I was learning to drive. I then passed my driving test and informed them, they then sent an up to dated policy to show that I had a full license instead of a provisional. It wasn't until I had my second accident in the car and I was on the phone discussing this with them that we found out after my dads policy renewal came up for some stupid reason… Read Full Review

“Privilage, don't think so ”

Written on: 18/02/2016 by Adelaidea343 (1 review written)

grandson got a car and insured it with Privilege, he is 26, no claims been a driver for 4 years. First Ii was told his insurance would be cheaper if he used a black box, which he got. I paid his initial first payment £98.55, and his remaining payments would be £54 a month. After 4 weeks he got a job as a security man, his car would be locked up all night in a secure fenced off area, more secure than the street, anyway that added nearly £15 a month extra as he was now using the car for work… Read Full Review

“i sold car but keep charge me. ”

Written on: 18/01/2016 by guuuun (1 review written)

First instance, My car was broken down in the middle of motorway but it took half an hour to talk someone. wait, wait, auto response, give other numbers and wait..... Second, I sold my car. I stopped direct debit. 3 month later, they asked me pay for 3 month after I sold car. Other insurance company just stop policy if payment is not made with a letter. This awful company knew I sold car but keep charged me. If i had an accident after ownership moved, they wont pay for insurance. Avoid… Read Full Review

“Poor insurance”

Written on: 10/01/2016 by helenmcfad (3 reviews written)

I am cancelling my policy and have been informed there is a £53 cancellation fee to cover the costs of cancelling the policy. I asked for a breakdown of exactly how this money would be spent and this was refused. It is a 5 minute job to cancel a policy and nonsense to be charging so much. I asked to be directed to where this is mentioned in my terms and conditions and was told that they were unable to upload them and so couldn't tell me where to look on my policy! I was left on hold for a long… Read Full Review

“error on quote that they are saying is my fault”

Written on: 07/01/2016 by markkc1 (1 review written)

I recently used Moneysupermarket to buy insurance, I went through the usual steps, entered the named driver details etc, was quoted £408 which I thought was reasonable so I set up a direct debit and took out the policy. 4 days later I received the insurance documents to see that the named driver was not on the certificate so I rang them immediately and asked why, there response was that I must have done an incorrect quote although I have the screenshots with the named driver ticked, would not… Read Full Review

“Took renewal money from account 8days after cancelling...”

Written on: 29/11/2015 by 1974Green (1 review written)

I gave notice of my intention to cancel my renewal cover, several months in advance because I wanted to change to a multi-car insurance. I still received a renewal notice, I contacted Privilege the day after the renewal date to confirm they were not going to proceed with cover. They agreed they had a note on my policy & would not take any money from my account. Eight days later they took the premium. Two subsequent calls to their office resulted in apologies and the promise that the money would… Read Full Review

“Zero Customer Service ”

Written on: 03/11/2015 by Yuman (1 review written)

I am currently with Privilege Car Insurance. I took a new policy out with them in March 2015, to expire in March 2016. I am getting a new vehicle on the 17/11/2015. I currently have an Audi A3(63 plate) 1.6 SE. I am getting a BMW 320D M Sport (Brand New). Now I admit that I expected the premium to rise. However, I rang to ask for how the change in vehicle would affect my premium. I was quoted £1000! For 4 months! Bear in mind, I paid £700 for the whole year on the Audi. After telling the… Read Full Review

I'm sure their terms and conditions confirm the admin fee. May be worthwhile reading these first before taking out a policy.

“Quick and easy transfer”

Written on: 24/06/2015 by CheyenneReece (1 review written)

Privilege were the cheapest option when I took out the policy and the service so far has been very good. I changed my car today and the transfer of the insurance to the new car was done by phone quickly and easily. Overlap insurance with both cars was available but in the end not needed. The assistant went to above expected lengths to ensure that the cover note was faxed to the new car supplier on the same day. I haven't made a claim yet and hope not to do so but my experience to date has been… Read Full Review

“Do not care once they have your money.”

Written on: 23/06/2015 by Annlinds (1 review written)

I bought car insurance online from this company in November of last year. All was fine until I called them to let them know I was moving. I was then told it would cost me £80.00 to change the address on the policy. As I am on benefits this is an incredible sum of money so I asked if I could pay it at the end of the month. I was told no then asked to pay £30.00.i still could not pay immediately so they told me I had 2 weeks in which to do so or the policy would be cancelled. I called on the… Read Full Review
