“They never follow up”

This is my first year with Privilege and it's been a nightmare with them. I've had to make two claims to them this year, and their process is extremely slow. When you ask them to give you a call back if and when there is progress with your claim, you better not hold your breath. For both of my claims, they never called back. “WORSE CAR INSURANCE”

This is by far the WORSE car insurance ever!!! Word of advice spend your money elsewhere. I was involved in an accident back in May 2014,they don't care about anything apart from making sure that your payments are up to date. You have to constantly contact them in order for them to do their jobs, because you are left in the loop not knowing what is going on or what they are doing. I Had 2 vehicles insured through this company. My wife bought a new car so we rang Privilege to change the car details. After 3 phone calls, all unanswered within 45 minutes, I decided to cancel my wife's insurance due to the expensive quote. Looked on price comparison website and Privilege quote was £150 cheaper than discussed on telephone. Was then told I owed £28 following cancellation but received bill for £75.40. After changing vehicles during my insurance policy with Privelege i called to advise of the change and if there would be an increase in premium. Was previously paying £26 a month for a Golf 1.6 diesel and the new price for a Scirocco 2.0 diesel was to increase to £64. When I asked about my cancellation options i was then offered the price at £51. “Do not use!”

This company caused me untold distress. At every level there was a complete lack of customer service skills and following a claim there was absolutely no assistance in trying to resolve my situation. My car was in a garage for a month because of delays due to Privilege not supplying information to the garage . “£50 cancellation for auto renewal”

I bought an online policy with this company last year. The renewal notice was by post which I didn't receive, and there was no notification to the email address via which I set the policy up. The first I knew was their direct debit at a vastly increased premium from the previous year which put my account overdrawn. “My insurer but pay out on false claims by others!! AVOID”

I have just reversed into someone in a car park my fault but did MINOR (3 inch scuff) damage to passenger door with my picasso however the car had previous damage on a wing mirror (which i couldn't damage in a hatchback) and wing not done by me. Advised privilege of this and told them not to pay out on this however they have just paid out for this which i will have to eventually pay back. the same problem l had, then they sent to me payment against your claim is £1900, there was no damage even l am still having the evidence of both car (pictures), you don't believe it, there is no control from the government towards these companies

I have been insured with Privilige for the last 12 months. Got a good deal using Moneysupermarket.com. Around £200. Now the sting. Got renew quote from them today more than double at £402.The letter said my insurance would be renewed automatically!! Not a chance. Had a look at Moneysupermarket and guess what.... the Privilige quote on their system was the lowest for me at £195.Needless to say I wont be renewing with them. “Unhelpful when needed”

Happy to take your money but useless when you have an accident. Avoid privilege or be warned. Had an accident where someone reversed into me. You'd think that with a witness, cc tv it would be a straight forward non fault claim. Oh no they've got it as 50/50 so at the moment I'm out if pocket for an accident I couldn't avoid and they say they hav 15 weeks to decide who's at fault. What more could they possibly need!!! I too had a very serious issue with Privilege. Very much along the lines of what you describe. Disinterest and incompetence. I hope that you don't mind me pointing this out, but Direct Line is the parent company for Privilege. Churchill and Green Flag too. I only know this because I am determined to never give these idiots another penny of my hard-earned money.

“Thought I give them an Oppertunity”

Needed Insurance for a mercedes and Porsche. The mercedes was first so had a look aroud their quote was not the cheapest but mid range. my Insurance company Tesco did not have a good rating so thought I try Privelage 'not that they seem any better'. “Extras”

Needed to have a copy of insurance document/cover note so I could tax a new vehicle at the post office, was told that it would be sent and could take up to seven days so I asked for it to be emailed, was told they do not email but they could fax it to me but it would cost £9 for one phone call to a fax machine. I have used privilege for a multi car insurance policy for 2 cars, in may I swapped my bank account and my dd for the 1st car was missed by my new bank and not set up. Privilege are part of Direct Line however there is no privilege for going with them! Non fault claim advised mid April. No communication, impossible to contact by phone, then I get a call from hire company 2 1/2 months later to say they've 'off hired' the courtesy car as they can't get hold of ME?! The irony.
