They have dragged their feet and dragged their feet. My car was stolen and they took 4 weeks to get anywhere near settlement. Then it turned up and we are 3 weeks from that date with still no sign of them paying out. The repairer says it will take 3 weeks to repair from when they get the go ahead.
Don't choose Privilege unless you are ready to wait for 3 months without a car if your car gets stolen. Plus they are rude and unresponsive and make insinuations as to your honesty.- Read Guest's review (89 words)

If I could give zero ratings I would! I have been with Privilege for over 5 years and always thought they were good, due to the price of their cover. I have recently had to deal with them due to a no-liability claim, where they took my car to carry out all repairs. They returned the car with half the repairs not completed, then told me that they hadn't done the remaining repairs as they say it was pre-existing damage, a fact disputed in writing by their own appointed repair company. Having to d ...- Read Guest's review (120 words)

I have spoken to about 10 Customer Service staffs in this company and they have been absolutely appalling!
Privilege attract you with the cheaper quote, but after that it goes down hill. TRUST ME!!- Read Guest's review (33 words)

I didnt want to give a star on Priveleged but i had no choice!
Customer Service are absolutely RUBBISH, i have sent my documents to them 4 times, 3 times by FAX, 1 by post (Because they have not got an EMAIL access??) And still they told me they havent received it!? could be because they want to increase m insurance by £300, when im on the phone to them to sort this out, im always on hold for ages, and somehow it cuts off...uhhhmmmm.
I was more than happy enough to pay £20 to canc ...- Read Guest's review (104 words)

I had an accident in July where a driver rear ended me on the motorway, I rang Privilege that night and the next day the Rental company and repair shop both phoned me promptly to book my car in. Car was repaired and all was dealt with smoothl by Privilege.
Then tonight I accidently went into the back of someone else at a roundabout, I phoned Privilege at 5:30pm and at 6:15pm I had a call from the rental company saying the rental car was already authorised and waiting for me to book my car in wi ...- Read Guest's review (139 words)

I've had my car written off and Privilege simply took everything out of my hands and also offered me a very fair price for the car. All that just 7 days after I took out the cover. Brilliant.
One phone call was all it took and and the garage, assessor, paperwork and courtesy car were all sorted out. Easy!- Read Guest's review (58 words)

Renewed my policy over the phone on the 18th July 2009 and was told the money would be taken from my account in 10 days time. Money was not taken and when I phoned privilege to enquire why the money had not been taken from my account, i was informed that my policy had not been renewed!!! This resulted in me driving an uninsured car for 12 days through no fault of my own. Never again would I use this company.- Read Guest's review (78 words)

Planned for dream car..
Quote for privilege £1800. Close to purchase (1 year later) checked the premium - £1,817.
Bought the car, called to action the quote and they said "Let's just check those details". With no change to any of my circumstances they upped the price to £3,300!
Then a smug little wind-up merchant in their customer service department deliberately pushed my buttons until I was livid with anger.
I WILL NEVER LET A PENNY GO TO THEM OR ANY BUSINESS THEY ARE INVOL ...- Read Guest's review (85 words)

from the point of reporting my car stolen. Customer service at Privilege Car Insurance is a joke! Could never get hold of my claim handler or any line management. Kept waiting on hold for ages every time I telephoned them. Never any updates on my claim, I had to make all the calls and do all the chasing.
They did not take my vehicle to the garage of my choice-main dealer where I purchased the car. Instead, sent it to what they referred to as 'an approved repairer'-a back street body shop is ...- Read soggyoggyhoy's review (244 words)

Privilege Car Insurance customer service dept is a joke - they never call you back and you are often left hanging on the line and eventually cut off.
I had my car stolen 3 weeks ago and they have made me feel like it was my own fault! I would never use this useless company again.
Am still waiting for my claim to be settled and have been told it could be 8 weeks! Why??????? i just don'y know.- Read joeyk's review (110 words)

I contacted Privledge to check I was insured to drive other cars with the owners permission. I work in customer services. I did not think how much my job would affect my policy. My job does involve driving other vehicles BUT I am covered by my companys own insurance and not my own personal. After a few questions it became clear that because my job involved driving other vehicles, regardless of the fact that they are insured already. I cannot have driving other vehicles with the owners permi ...- Read Guest's review (163 words)

Had car crash, my car was sent away to be fixed but in my opinion the job has not been done properly. I feel that the garage that it was sent to did not fit the bonnet correct, did not seem to screw in the screws near radiator, there was damage to the horn and bonnet that i feel is the resposiblity of the garage and they are denying this. I spoke to privilege insurance who have advised me to take my complaint else where. Nice right- Read dom1's review (87 words)

I am currently with Privilege and I am getting a new car next week, called them up to let them know, and spoke to a very nice lady who told me my payments would rocket up to £75 per month, ( about £900 per year ) I'm 50 by the way, just looked at compare.com and privilege can provide the cover for £475 for a new customer. I don't like this at all, after all the years I've been with them it turns out you don't get rewarded for being a loyal customer. I won't be renewing with ...- Read davebeech's review (128 words)

I have to agree with the reviewer who said they are good until you have to call them.
A car was stolen from my street and hit my car on the way out while i was in bed. To cut a very long story short Priviledge went back on promises, gave incorrect information, took 6 weeks for a easy repair, lied about what repairs had been done, lost my keys, shut the case after informing me police had not found a culprit(despite me getting a visit form the CID and court letters saying different). Very relucten ...- Read Jimmib1978's review (175 words)

If you never claim or never want to speak to these people - your o.k.
If your unlucky enough to have to make a claim - your in a world of trouble.
Firstly its your problem and not theirs to help you with. Your treated like a criminal and spoken to with no respect at all. Never believe your excess is what they have told you. Mine inflated from £375 to £650. The best bit is that they told me "take it or leave it - we won ' t repair your car unless you pay!"

YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! Privledge started out ok with a competative quote but then when I had a claim (not my fault) not only did they hike my premium up but its been 1 year 2 months and the claim is still not sorted. I've had to ring them up every step of the way to prompt them to process the next step of my claim. When it came to sending in my invoice for repairs, they apparently lost it and asked me to send them another invoice. (I had to ring up to be told they'd lost it). I called to see ...- Read danrobs's review (158 words)

Was pleased with the quote, but was rapidly annoyed when it came to providing evidence of my no-claims bonus. As requested, I sent them my renewal notice. I used to use Swiftcover, a 21st century company with enough environmental common sense to use email, rather than wasting paper. So I send my email renewal notice - but that's not good enough, despite the fact that an email from a company domain name has EXACTLY the same weight in law as a letter on headed paper. These morons then go on hassli ...- Read Unprivileged's review (298 words)

I have been with Privilege for many years. I have had two claims with them which were not my fault and it took over a year for the first to be resolved and the second is still ongoing. I have tried to ring them and been on the phone waiting again and again for over 45 mins. I have written letters of complaint and they do not respond to these. I would warn anyone away from Priviledge car insurance! The other members of my family have gone elsewhere and I intend to do the same in November when my ...- Read Guest's review (150 words)
