“Unhelpful when needed”

Happy to take your money but useless when you have an accident. Avoid privilege or be warned. Had an accident where someone reversed into me. You'd think that with a witness, cc tv it would be a straight forward non fault claim. Oh no they've got it as 50/50 so at the moment I'm out if pocket for an accident I couldn't avoid and they say they hav 15 weeks to decide who's at fault. What more could they possibly need!!! “Thought I give them an Oppertunity”

Needed Insurance for a mercedes and Porsche. The mercedes was first so had a look aroud their quote was not the cheapest but mid range. my Insurance company Tesco did not have a good rating so thought I try Privelage 'not that they seem any better'. “Extras”

Needed to have a copy of insurance document/cover note so I could tax a new vehicle at the post office, was told that it would be sent and could take up to seven days so I asked for it to be emailed, was told they do not email but they could fax it to me but it would cost £9 for one phone call to a fax machine. I have used privilege for a multi car insurance policy for 2 cars, in may I swapped my bank account and my dd for the 1st car was missed by my new bank and not set up. My no claims bonus was on this car I have none on the second I was sent a letter with insurance documents on the front I was unaware of anything being wrong and going on holiday I put the whole thing in my insurance docs file and thought no more I received 2 letters together this morning saying my policy was cancelled. “Worst Insurance Company in 35 years of driving! Don't use.”

Privilege are part of Direct Line however there is no privilege for going with them! Non fault claim advised mid April. No communication, impossible to contact by phone, then I get a call from hire company 2 1/2 months later to say they've 'off hired' the courtesy car as they can't get hold of ME?! The irony. Even the telephone number the hire car company has a recorded message saying 'this number is no longer in use' Ombudsman complaint being prepared. Don't use!!… Read Full Review

“Worst insurance ever”

I had a accident (not my fault) other driver went into me compleatly writ of one side of my car , I've got no wear and is still going on. No one rings to keep you informed about what's going on and what there going to do to help you as the customer, not even a letter in the post. “Worst insurance company ”

I've had a terrible experience dealing with privilege. I had a claim for a broken wing mirror (not my fault) last year in November. They were extremely unhelpful. Many hours of trying to get through I still didn't get anywhere with them. I eventually repaired my car on my own and more than 6 months later, still trying to get my money back!! Awful people!!! I had car insurance with Privilege for 2 months and was notified that the registered keeper is the named driver. I explained I was not aware that this was not allowed with them as it was allowed with my previous insurance and therefore requested to swap the policyholder with the named driver, obviously willing to pay the difference owed. “Privilege insurance - poor quality service”

I have been with Privilege Insurance for over 10 years and the first time i needed them they let me down. I struggled to get an approved repairer involved of my choosing, Privilege forced me to use Autoglass who messed up my appointment twice!!! I asked if i could use my own repairer and they said yes but they would not pay for the repair, i'd have to fund the rest. “Dispicable Company ”

After 1 year my car has not been fixed. You are extremely unlikely to have your car fixed where you want because they have massive contracts with a garage that provide them with very dubious discounted rates. My family mechanic has said he cannot even get the parts for the amount they offered. My advice to those that are stuck with them - do everything in writing. “Wish I'd stayed with Admiral!”

I really, really wish I had stayed with Admiral! Firstly, Privilege took the £50 deposit for my car insurance twice from my account, causing me to go overdrawn and incur bank charges. They apologised but said it was a 'system error'. Then, they gave me an incorrect email address to submit my proof of No Claims Discount to (my email bounced back) and I then had to spend an hour on the phone to sort this out (at my expense!) “Wish I had never gone with this company”

My husband is a named driver on my car. He was on his way home when a kid ran out in front of the car. My husband tried to avoid him but just caught his leg. So we let the company know. I have just got my renewal notice for my insurance and they have put it down that I was the driver, I have partial blame and a claim had been made against us. Had accident on Xmas eve (not my fault) waited a week to get courtesy car. repairer picked my car up 2 weeks later.2 and half weeks on took the day off work as they said courtesy car getting picked up and mine getting dropped off waited all day no one came no phone call or anything. came for courtesy car next day got my car 4 days later and was in a worse state than b4 it went away (bumper not fixed properly rubber hanging off bumper wheel different colour filled the crack and painted over it… Read Full Review

Very poor customer service....10 different phone numbers in paperwork....customer help line is busy....or 12 minuts you can hear classic music....this company DONT RESPECT customer if you had any problems....Accident?????????? this company dont support you in process. privilege standing against you....not respect....BEWARE. “PLEASE don't use this company”

My first claim since using this company; a period of over 12 years. They do not reply to e-mails; despite e-mailing almost daily since my accident on 14/12/14. I am now paying insurance on a car I don't own that may well have been scrapped. I don't think they've heard of the word customer service. I refuse to use their 0845 premium telephone number.
