    Good Points: none

Bad Points: Awful customer services. Long waits holding. Made to feel like it was my fault for having my car stolen. Paperwork sent but never recieved by myslef. All just delay tactics i'm sure

General comments: Privilege Car Insurance customer service dept is a joke - they never call you back and you are often left hanging on the line and eventually cut off. I had my car stolen 3 weeks ago and they have made me feel like it was my own fault! I would never use this useless company again. Am still waiting for my claim to be settled and have been told it could be 8 weeks! Why??????? i just don'y know.

I contacted Privledge to check I was insured to drive other cars with the owners permission. I work in customer services. I did not think how much my job would affect my policy. My job does involve driving other vehicles BUT I am covered by my companys own insurance and not my own personal. After a few questions it became clear that because my job involved driving other vehicles, regardless of the fact that they are insured already. I cannot have driving other vehicles with the owners permi ...

Had car crash, my car was sent away to be fixed but in my opinion the job has not been done properly. I feel that the garage that it was sent to did not fit the bonnet correct, did not seem to screw in the screws near radiator, there was damage to the horn and bonnet that i feel is the resposiblity of the garage and they are denying this. I spoke to privilege insurance who have advised me to take my complaint else where. Nice right

I am currently with Privilege and I am getting a new car next week, called them up to let them know, and spoke to a very nice lady who told me my payments would rocket up to £75 per month, ( about £900 per year ) I'm 50 by the way, just looked at compare.com and privilege can provide the cover for £475 for a new customer. I don't like this at all, after all the years I've been with them it turns out you don't get rewarded for being a loyal customer. I won't be renewing with ...

I have to agree with the reviewer who said they are good until you have to call them. A car was stolen from my street and hit my car on the way out while i was in bed. To cut a very long story short Priviledge went back on promises, gave incorrect information, took 6 weeks for a easy repair, lied about what repairs had been done, lost my keys, shut the case after informing me police had not found a culprit(despite me getting a visit form the CID and court letters saying different). Very relucten ...

If you never claim or never want to speak to these people - your o.k. If your unlucky enough to have to make a claim - your in a world of trouble. Firstly its your problem and not theirs to help you with. Your treated like a criminal and spoken to with no respect at all. Never believe your excess is what they have told you. Mine inflated from £375 to £650. The best bit is that they told me "take it or leave it - we won ' t repair your car unless you pay!" I'VE GONE TO HASTINGS DIRE ...

YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! Privledge started out ok with a competative quote but then when I had a claim (not my fault) not only did they hike my premium up but its been 1 year 2 months and the claim is still not sorted. I've had to ring them up every step of the way to prompt them to process the next step of my claim. When it came to sending in my invoice for repairs, they apparently lost it and asked me to send them another invoice. (I had to ring up to be told they'd lost it). I called to see ...

Was pleased with the quote, but was rapidly annoyed when it came to providing evidence of my no-claims bonus. As requested, I sent them my renewal notice. I used to use Swiftcover, a 21st century company with enough environmental common sense to use email, rather than wasting paper. So I send my email renewal notice - but that's not good enough, despite the fact that an email from a company domain name has EXACTLY the same weight in law as a letter on headed paper. These morons then go on hassli ...

I have been with Privilege for many years. I have had two claims with them which were not my fault and it took over a year for the first to be resolved and the second is still ongoing. I have tried to ring them and been on the phone waiting again and again for over 45 mins. I have written letters of complaint and they do not respond to these. I would warn anyone away from Priviledge car insurance! The other members of my family have gone elsewhere and I intend to do the same in November when my ...

I suggest you call them when it's renewal time. Exemplary customer service and support. Privilege has really worked with me when I've been unfortunate enough to have to submit claim. They don't load your premium for claim - no - blame situations.I really cannot find fault with this company. They've bent over backwards to assist whenever I've need their support.

Wife lost her laguna sport tourer after being t-boned by an artic HGV, full liability and blame conceded by other party, and full written police and ambulance reports backing this, and SHE looses her ncb then gets offered 700 quid below glasses guide for a poor condition model when ours was mint!?????????????? and Privilege Car Insurance reckon that's where they take their valuations from along with the engineers report. PLEASE!!!!???? Trust me, if you just want cheap insurance so you aren't br ...

I added a set of new alloy wheels to my car which cost me £260. I told Privilege about my modification and my premium went up by more than £350 a year and my excess also increased to £775 from £425. The wheels I bought for £260 could end up costing me £750 if I were to make a claim! Where do they get their figures from?

All we needed to do was change the registration plate on the certificate. All correspondance by post took at least 5 working days despite everything being sent 1st class. First letter had wrong updated plate and so did the second! The third was sent direct to the dealership where the new car sat waiting during this farce. This too took well over the standard delivery time for 1st class post. When I logged a complaint to try to recover the cost of a hire car I sat for 30 minutes on the phone with ...

I rang Privilege up when there adverts said they would guarantee to beat my quote on renewal. After an eternity they did beat it by £1. After the time with them the cost of the call and having to post things out to them all at my expense it worked out dearer. The Excess was also higher. I decided to tell them no thanks. Rang the Co-operative Insurance up and got it 40% cheaper!!!! They say you don't have to be posh, but i'm a happy commoner thanks and a lot better off for it. ...

Avoid unless you never need to make a claim! Very difficult in my experience to speak to anyone who cares that you are a customer who pays for a service.

I would recommend Privilege car insurance. Quick and easy to set up. Best price I could find, and £300 cheaper than the next best. Very easy and quick to change details, get new certificate and free to cover courtesy cars etc.

My husband was also on my insurance. I don't know what happened, but he and another lady touched cars. He was on a hill in traffic behind her. Anyway, the third party phoned and stated we had done £800 worth of damage and she needed her boot realigned. So, we decided to go through insurance companies. He took me to her car a day later, and we noticed that the side of the car had been damaged. Considering I had full cover, I had no help or support. I was told an assessor was going to ...

The repair centre told me my car would be ready in 7 - 10 days (very small dent in bonnet) - It actually took 20 days. They say repairs are guaranteed for 5 years, but won't confirm what has been replaced. They did replace my number plate, which was not damaged, and they replaced it with one advertising their own centre - not a good advert if you're trying to sell the car. In conversation they also mentioned parts they were waiting for which included a headlight - definitely not required (I had ...
