I have 75% No Claims, pay an annual premium of 330 pounds, decided to visit friends in europe to be told i would have to pay £40 green card for 5 days, thats shocking and frankly I wont be insuring with this company again.

Thoroughly shocked to read these other reviews. I can't fault them on customer service or price. I registered a claim (my fault accident) and received my courtesy car within an hour (as did the other driver). We both got our cars back within four days without any further hassle. We received regular text updates. Customer service was bang on throughout and both parties were 100% satisfied

Sainsburys Car Insurance Customer service very poor.
Not anyone as ever contacted me from sainsbury's still waiting for police report nearly 12 months latter so they say! Still £200 out of pocket for something that wasn't my fault as i wasn;t even in the car at the time.

Friendly customer service, very helpful. No problems with them (although i never made a claim), except my renewal quote was exactly the same as I paid last year - so I cancelled the policy. I only cancelled thepolicy due to lower prices elsewhere. I would recommend.

When i had a accident which meant my car was not drivable i foolishly thought they would find me a hire car locally or maybe even deliver it. I was very wrong. I was in Swindon and the replacement car is provided by the asseser/repairer of my car which is based on my home address (Nottingham). So i needed to pick up my hire car from Chesterfield, 7 hours round trip away!

I was travelling to 4 destinations over 7 days to visit family at Christmas and had the accident on the way to the first d ...

We have had 2 non fault accidents in last 5 months. Sainsbury's handled these with the least fuss, car was collected within 2 days. Prestige vehicle hire delivered via Drive Assured, within 24 hours.

They sold my car through salvage after an accident, with my private plate on, even after sending me a letter stating a date later on when they would sell it on after my plate was transferred. Yet it was actually sold on a month earlier (to avoid it being recorded by the DVLA).

I have made calls to the management at Sainsburys Car Insurance, and have been promised call backs, but I have had nothing.

I was burgled and my car was stolen from my property. I had a complete nightmare with Sainsbury's car Insurance; I found it very stressful.
I was phoned up by the insurance company, who told me that my car was ready to be picked up from the Garage. When I got to the garage however, they claimed they hadn't yet received the car from the police station! Had fully comp, but could not get a hire car, as I did not have the car repair by their garage. As I had a mini, my policy requires a mini garage ...

Bought a Sainsburys Car Insurance policy and needed to send my proof of no claims. Received a letter dated 23.11.05 to say they have not recieved my proof of no claims so they cancelled my policy from 15.11.05, I had been driving for 10 days uninsured. When I called to complain, I confirmed my name, address etc. and they read back my mobile number to me but said that it is policy not to call people. They state they sent me two letters which I did not receive, but they confirmed the letters are ...

Everything is rosy when you pay for your inexpensive policy with Sainsburys Car Insurance. You hit the road under the false pretense that you are fully comprehensive and whatever happens you will be put to no inconvinience.

But then you have an accident and in my case I am the driver at fault, so I did the correct thing, phoned and informed them of an accident, everything is going ok until I am told that an assesor will look at my vehicle in four days whilst it is off the road (undrivable).
