Price Increasing Without Warning From £20 To £200

Really bad service. Been using them for a time until I received an invoice for £200 for hosting a website (cost roughy £40 a year anywhere else). Asked them to stop the service but I end up having to pay their fees even if my website where not hosted anymore with them. They are a complete rip off, stay away from them, there is million others much better and much cheaper. After going down the line with them with debt recovery for a service I never used I have been reading a lot on Google and I found that is one of their common practice and they just take money from people that way. Don't bother with them seriously.

Run Away!

I took over the administration of a website that was hosted on streamline six months ago. I asked them to move servers to have a more up-to-date PHP environment, but only half of the files were migrated and then they switched over to the new server without me confirming that everything was working - resulting in a website down. I was lucky that I could complete the transfer from an offline backup. Not impressed.

The admin panel is as well a hotchpotch of different URLs, logins for general admin, FTP, database, e-mail admin. Other webhosters have a nice panel that allows you to centrally admin all your settings, but not streamline.net.

A few months later I ran into issues with a wordpress install. Only then I figured out that they only provide support from 8-6 Mon-Fri. High-critical server down issues that were logged online took over a day to even get answered (without being solved). So I decided to vote with my feet and walk away.

Stay Away!!!

Appalling service. I was sent final notice to pay biannual fees. Forgot to change my new email over and no one contacted me by letter until the final demand. I had to pay before I could update details and then pay another 2 yr even though I wanted to cancel. They said I was four days into new contract.

I have just called because I could not access my account and found they had not put new email address on to their system. My payment date had expired on my card and again no message from them. I know it was my responsibility.

I now discover they cancelled my domain name 2 yrs ago when they had sent final notice letter but I was still charged for 2 yrs contract. I have cancelled account now on their tickets system. I wonder if I will get confirmation. Would not recommend .

Streamline.net Stole My 10 Year Old Domain

The countless negative reviews on the Internet alone should deter any potential new customers from contemplating this company. The company is in debt and resorts to legal questionable means in which to intimidate their customers into covering their losses.

I had been a customer for over 10 years, from the days of CEO, to current company director Frank Einhellinger. My domain had been paid for until October 2015 (one year from now), and one day, without warning, the domain disappeared online and my email no longer functioned. Assuming it was a glitch, I contacted Streamline.net who told me I was being pursued by the debt agency (they even tried to force me only to deal with this agency - CCI Legal). I refused to do so on the basis that I have no legal contract with CCI Legal, only with streamline.net.

I had taken a second domain with hosting just over a year ago. After nearly a fortnight I wasn't able to do anything with it, and realised streamline.net hadn't even registered it on my behalf dispite taking payment. I contacted them, and they apologised and registered it with Tucows. I couldn't take a personal email address with the package and an upgrade was too expense, so I contacted the company by their ticket system and by phone, and told them I did not want the domain beyond the year because of this limitation. I transferred the domain before the year was up, and my credit card had expired, which I thought was convenient just in case they didn't keep a record of my request to cancel. Streamline.net claim they can ONLY take cancellations up to 7 days before a domain is due to expire, and they can only do this through their online ticket system. I strongly contend the legality of this. This unrelated domain/hosting is their reason for removing my second account and domain.

In effect streamline.net have stolen my 10 year old domain from me, and are holding it to ransom unless I pay an arbitary fine. Nominet are unable to help (without expensive fees) because streamline.net registers domains in their own company name and not the customers.

I advise anybody contemplating the use of this company to be aware. Rather than placate old customers and keep them onboard, they would sooner make idle threats with debt collectors. I would relish the prospect of putting forward my story in court, and now have to contemplate legal action. In the mean time I will put my story out there anywhere I can to warn others against the unscrupulous actions of streamline.net

I would like to add that I was finally able to get things resolved, but it was only by going through the company's CEO. Without their assistance I would still be banging my head against a brick wall.

Poor, Poor, Poor

I've had personal and business domain names and hosting packages with Streamline. At first they were brilliant and good value. After they were sold, their service went downhill rapidly. Their own website is slow and customer services from the 19th century, only available 9-6 Mon - Fri. Call centres are outside of the UK making conversation difficult and closing a hosting account takes so much effort it is unreal. Support tickets go unanswered and there is no direct line to cancellations because - get this - their department is swamped with requests to cancel!!! Sorry Streamline but you've gone from "brilliant" to "avoid" in less than ten years.

Conmen- Out For Your Money- And Threaten You As Well!

These guys may as well be from the Mafia. It's not too far off extortion. If you forget to pay, they send red letters, promising you they will sell your debt to a collection agency and damnage your credit rating. These guys should not be allowed to trade...

When the site went down, their support was abysmal.

You have no way of cancelling or preventing auto renewal of a hosting package.

Don't Use Streamline

I used Streamline for 2 sites, one personal and later one for a club.

For the first couple of renewals they sent an invoice before the due date. OK. Then they omitted to do so and I forgot the date (didn't need to remember, did I, since they sent invoice reminders?) for the club site they eventually sent one imposing a fine for late payment. Before realising it was an extra payment, I paid it. Then they failed to tell me before the event that the domain name needed renewal until too late and the site went down.

I set up another with a different host (Falcoda, who I DO recommend). This was last year.

This year I moved my personal site and perhaps foolishly assumed that since my credit card detail held by Streamline was becoming invalid at the same date, I need bother with them no longer.

Now they tell me that my account remains open until I pay up for another year, plus a late payment fine because I did not arrange with them to close my account before the payment date. They will 'refer to a third party' if I do not pay up.

They do not accept direct emails. I will not phone because I do not see why I should pay for a phone call when email costs me nothing. Contact with them has always been near impossible

What Ever You Do, Dont You Dare Sign Up To Streamline, Dont!

Please, Listen to everyone who has reviewed this company before me. I originally looked at the reviews and thought maybe that is just a few of the million customers they have. But when I became a customer I felt it hard in my pocket. The salesman will tell you magical things just to get you to sign. He will promise you things, just to get you to sign. He will claim that he will waiver charges just to get you to sign. He will sell his mum to you to get you to sign. I was told that I would not pay a penny for my merchant services until my website goes live. He told me it was the companies policy to wait until the month after we go live before they charge. Since I signed up I have paid £230 in charges and I have not gone live. I feel stupid because they asked me for proof of a contract that says they wont charge me and I couldn't supply that because I believed the salesman. Please don't make the same mistake I did. Stay away, go find a different company.

Avoid!!!! Avoid !!!!!

One of the worse experience in my life! Twice took a payment over the phone using card machine for amount of £3000, week later received a bill to pay £60 to pay for fees as apparently customer used business debit card .... Ok that's fine. But two months later they have sent me 2 CHARGEBACK LETTERS, meaning that card was stollen and i need to pay back 3k to the card owner, when i already dispatched my stock! Didn't wanted to pay, I was a victim and they treated me very badly, they terminated contract with me and passed a message to other merchant services that my business is dodgy and and they have experienced a fraud with us. No compassion at all!!! Lady over the phone was very rude. She said we have to pay, went to the bank said not willing to pay, my account manager rang to streamline and they said they cant talk to him even in my behalf..... I said wt???? So i end up loosing 3k.,. It was a massive kick for my small business, they r happy to give u low rates at the beginning to bit the competitor but service is terrible. AVOID AVOID, currently opened a case against them, wish my good luck!

Absolutely Abysmal - Stay Well Clear Of!

Where do I even start with Streamline.net?

They are by far - without question or doubt - the single worst company I have EVER dealt with in a professional or personal capacity.

Their hosting is appalling. We've got an independent site monitoring the uptime of our site(s) with them and the best of the bunch is running at 58%. We have a MINIMUM of 12 minutes downtime every day, the support staff are useless, the control panel is the opposite - restrictive and offers no control, the price is bad, the features are poor, the service doesn't work, support tickets take 24 hours plus for a stock 'template' reply to come back (which doesn't address any issues) and their shared servers and MySQL databases just don't work.

To give you an idea, we have some sites running Wordpress and we had a point where we had 50/50 downtime - we're not talking slow - we're talking actually offline with a 500 error.

They then moved us to a new and 'empty' MySQL Database - and even now we're still waiting 10+ seconds for simply page loads.

We wanted to use an SSL certificate for our site (which we already have) and they want to charge us £25 per year not to offer an actual certificate, but instead to allow us to use a SHARED 'secure' folder - which means you can't host your site with an SSL certificate, but instead can add one or two files to a 'secure' (but yet shared, which defeats the point) folder.

Absolutely useless. They are the worst company we've ever had the mis-fortune to go near.

What's worse is there terrible little small print and contracts makes it almost impossible to get away from.

We will need to part with £300+ to get away from them now, but it's worth every last penny - infact, it's worth 1000 times that much.

Look at the other reviews here and elsewhere on the site. They are AWFUL.

Regardless of whether or not you think you'll escape their poor service, don't do it - you won't, and you'll be left disappointed, annoyed, frustrated and completely unable to move elsewhere.

It's worse than a deadend for hosting companies. I resent even having to hand out 1 star - minus stars if anything is more fitting.

For those reading the above wondering what's next we've switched to Martialhost and they're fantastic. Would recommend.

* Worth pointing out that when I said 'they then moved us' they actually said " here's another mysql database you should use' and we ourselves, as the customer, because of their poor infrastructure, had to move our ENTIRE site and all associated mysql databases manually.
