Streamline make it virtually impossible to cancel a hosting service. We followed their instructions to raise a support ticket on their web site clearly stating that we wished to cancel all domains except one giving them plenty of notice. They responded after a week to state that they can only do this if we give them EXACTLY 7 days notice before the expiry date. They are very good at taking payments and setting you up but if you have a problem their technical support is very poor. They do not read your support ticket fully and miss out several of the questions that you ask. There has been a problem with my website, so they just turned if off. Didn't contact me first. I have been with this outfit for 6 yrs, had a bulk web package £175.00 for 2 yrs, renewed 2 yrs later £189.00 thats fair and ok. no price sent for renewal this time, they just took £330.00 out of my account. i asked them why a 75% increase, no answer. I have been a customer of Streamline's for about 6 years and apart from my website seeming slow (which isn't good) I didn't have huge problems. I found out recently that they are storing their customers passwords plain text! This is obviously not something that you would expect of a professional organisation. I was a loyal customer of theirs for years, I no longer wanted to continue services but missed in the small print if I didn't cancel before a certain date that they charge you for a full two years(nearly £100). They threatened to arrest me and destroy my credit rating if I did not pay. I feel incredibly angry and exploited at being forced to continue payment for a domain I didn't want. I have had people try to spam me online - with Streamline they mug you. They have a ``small print `` clause - if at the end of your paid hosting you do not advise them that you no longer wish to continue with their domain service within approx two weeks they actually demand a full two years payment as a penalty, and as others have said they chase you with CCI Legal. So, SO bad for customer service. We had a club website and the web guy left and 6 years later the account ran out. We received a letter saying money was overdrawn on the account so we went to pay it off and renew the subscription but because we didn't have the details we couldn't. Nothing but trouble and poor service. When I failed to renew a domain name they sent legal letters. Now they deny that I own the websites that they host for me and refuse to give me access - despite the fact that the sites are still live and still contain my content. Same issues as other people. Opened an account 5 years ago for a temporary site for our wedding. We thought we closed everything (indeed we no longer own said site) and after 5 years of having absolutely no communication from them they have passed on our details to CCIlegal with a £74.95 bill. DO NOT USE, THEY ARE FRAUDSTERS. Cancelled the hosting, moved the domain, all seemed well having used them for four years, then six months later received letters from CCI demanding money. I moved all of my hosting away from Streamline a year ago when they tried to increase the cost by 50% which made no sense! Having been with them for a number of years I felt utterly kicked. I have used Streamline.net since January 2007, renewing every 2 years. I was considering moving away, as I was using their Linux server, and I wanted a Windows host with ASP.NET, but wasn't willing to pay the extra £199 per year for this service. they will force you to pay for a service package you do not use and demand money via the aid of debt collectors. If you do not cancel your subscription within 30days of expiry of your current package they will automatically rob you and demand money for a package you do not need. It's ok when everything is fine, but as soon as you have a problem there is nothing in terms of customer support or flexibility. I have nearly 30 accounts with Streamline and will slowly migrate every one of them away. Avoid dealing with this company as you get tied in to ridiculous terms and conditions which are very difficult to get out of. As a customer, I had a very poor experience with Streamline.net. I find all customer communications from Streamline.net very poor. For example Streamline.net's website and 'Dashboard' interface is very unintuitive. This made the thought of managing my account and services a real chore and a very poor user experience. Wow what a big mistake using this company, I tried canceling over 2 years ago but they just ignored my request and took money of a card I asked to be de-registered with them. This card expired and I moved all my stuff 6 months ago, even domains from them, now Ive just had letter out of the blue (the only letter I may add and no emails), a final demand for £345 or we call the bailiffs in 7 days lol. Hi I am having the exact same problem, they have been chasing me for money, but I . What actions are you taking? Are you just ignoring their demands?
I have been replying to their emails and letters for the past month defending myself, but they keep saying it was in the terms and conditions of auto-renewal. The fact I moved all my domains and hosting away from streamline a month before it was up for renewal baffles me, just because I didnt tell them I was cancelling it.
If you have a tshirt, and you want a new one, you dont tell your old tshirt I dont want you any more and Im going to buy a new one. The fact I moved away a month in advance should of been enough.
Stay clear of streamline.net!! I was with them for over 7 years.

During the 5 or so years I've been a customer of Streamline I've witnessed their prices increase exponentially and their level of service diminish greatly. They are genuinely rude and unhelpful, sarcastic and extremely slow at responding to issues. I have just cancelled my last domain with the worst hosting company I have ever dealt with that is 8 Domains that has been cancelled I have been with them years. The company I am with which is so much cheaper and reliable you don't give them card details you can pay by Pay Pal so they cannot not help themselves to your money they remind you that payment is due within 30 Days and you pay them as I do though Pay Pal

Avoid this company at all costs. Customer support is based in the Philippines and are very rude, just read off a script! Take ages to answer the phone. I could not log in to my emails as quite often there was a server error. Automatic renewal is very costly and not well advertised. (read more)

I design and develop websites so I'm fairly capable and when something is right or is not right I would know what and usually why. Positive: they offer relatively cheap hosting in scaled packages. One of the key benefits is the "unlimited" bandwidth and by unlimited I mean ridiculously high, the hosts don't even have a usage monitor in their custom domain control panel. Streamline.net have to be one of the worst hosting providers in the world. Unhappy that my hosting was up for 60% of the 2 year contract, I logged over 30 support tickets before trying to leave... My cancellation request took them 11 days to answer and it just so happened that this meant their auto renewal policy kicked in and charged my account £130! I have been with them for over 2 years and I have never used their services. Now I am trying to cancel my account but they won't let me unless I pay for their most expensive package. They have reduced my outstanding balance by 50%
and admin fee stayed on 100%
I have payed it off and closed my account immediately...

I came across Streamline.net when I was starting a business, I never actually used their hosting service but for some reason got signed up to it as well as their 'never be able to opt out we have your credit card details forever' service!! Then 2 years later I received a 7 day letter in the post informing I had an outstanding balance of over £200 and unless I paid it then they would be sending the debt collectors round. I used streamline for one of my customers running a CubeCart shopping system. It was extremely slow, it kept going down. I must have been on to support every week to complain about something. Because of this my customer stopped using my service as a web designer. I ended up having to give them 12-months free hosting with another company as compensation. It has cost me dearly! I am thankfully cancelling the last of my sites hosted by the awful Streamline. They give a different reason on each occasion of why it's almost impossible to leave them. They automatically charged me £65 for a renewal I did not want. They did not notify me. I asked for a refund, they took 4 days to respond. They refused. Their support eventually said they would refund me in 2014 after the renewal date as I had 'registered my request'. This is ridiculous. My debit card with which the account had been set up expired last year. There was no attempt to contact us except via email, which was not accessible. Although Streamline's Terms and Conditions state that the service will be terminated if payment is not received, they continued to ratchet up the bills, and to add insult to injury, included 4 monthly 'admin charge' invoices of £24. Abysmal service. Slow servers, often to the point of failing to serve pages. Incompetent staff. Trick you into signing up to auto-renew contract which they then automatically debit from your card without your knowledge or permission. I'm another person stung by their auto renew - despite transferring the domain to another host over a year ago and forgetting about the service. Refuse to cancel my account while an invoice is outstanding despite me explicitly stating I don't want to the service. Just point to their T&C's. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. I've been a customer with Streamline.net for years. Customer loyalty means nothing to them and once you've payed they want nothing more to do with you. I had not updated my card details on Streamline.net because I wrongly assumed this would be an effective way to get them to close my account, which was what I wanted them to do. Did they do that?
