Good Points: Very good balance. It performs good with HN Final Match and other quality pellets. Good sights. Easy to cock once you learn the trick. Good grip for a large hand. Value for money ok.

Bad Points: Trigger too far away and the sideways adjustment is not sufficient to make it fit a small hand. Trigger mechanism as described above. Metal sears in trigger mechanism are soft. Lifetime? My 1000 shots ok so far.

General comments: The Gamo Compact is NOT a match pistol. The trigger adjustment screw is too short (app. 3 mm) and not functioning at all. It is obvious though, that match grade trigger performance is beyond reach. The design is simple with too many parts in plastic. Adveritsing claims the pistol to be recoilless. Add: Almost!

For the price this is an excellent beginning target pistol in my opinion. A definite step up from the Daisy and Beeman, that though accurate do nothing to develop a true ISSF (Olympic) grip.
Very accurate. most people seem to feel that the gun likes a slightly heavier pellet (RWS Meisterkluglen for example) as opposed to the Gamo's supplied or the RWS Hobby's. Spanish barrels are amongst the best.
Good build quality...lots of plastic, but it is of excellent quality and there is metal where th ...

I have owned a Gamo compact for more than two years, and there has been no problems with its reliability. However, it does come short when it comes to power and adjusting the trigger pull. The gun prefers light weight pellets and will yield good results. If you are searching for a budget priced match pistol, it is best to pay a bit more and go for the IZH-46 M pistol or Beeman P3.

Gamo Compact is OK for shooting in the garage, it'll hold its own on 5 - 6m.
At 10m it gets easily outclassed by other pistols.
Let down by poor build quality, just not a serious target pistol.

Gamo Compact is an easy-to-use weapon. Feels good in your hand and is pretty high class. Had mine for a week and my personal best has gone from 75 to 88pts from 10m. (With some practice every day and 7 times shooting for score. About 300 shots during the week)

The General Manager of the UK distributor, BSA, has confirmed to me that the trigger adjustment screw of the Gamo Compactis intentionally non-functional to avoid the possibility of accidents when making adjustments. The gun continues to be advertised as having an adjustable trigger though.
The trigger weight seems well in excess of the stated figure of 750g... my estimation is that it is well over double that figure.
The trigger unit is the basis of a match pistol, and it falls well short, at ...

This gun is ok, but nowhere near the Beeman P3. For real 10 meter shooting on a budget, look a the IZH 46

The Gamo Compact, a very well balanced gun, great accuracy, you can put many different type of pellets, the trigger is soft.
    The speed is 120m/s during all your shooting session(this is not the same with CO2 pistols), fully adjustable rear sight, trigger adjustable, and cross adjustable too;
An amazing gun for precision shooting

I have a Drulov 10mtr target pistol and Anchutz rifle. The Gamo Compact still holds its place alongside these more expensive marks. I would recommend it to anyone.

I have always wanted a real "near competition" target pistol -- and when a Gamo Compact came up for sale on Ebay at $85 or so it was time to try one.

First off, it is not a real Pardini or olympic grade pistol -- but it is close enough for those who are learning the ropes. The pneumatic power plant makes it recoil free (no springs and pistons moving around during firing)-- and the gun is incredibly quiet (far more so than a CO2 pistol). The match trappings of fully adustable trigger and g ...
