Second time back to Perran and it was just as amazing as last time, just read previous review from someone who did not even stay here?? The food this year is even better than last year with it now being franchised out. Our kids were kept entertained and the Entertainments team is amazing. The Bar prices are steep but what do you expect from a holiday park, they are probably all the same on that score. Two resident cabs this year Magic Malky and Ready Steady Glo glad to see more variety this... (read more)

Just Come Back today from a really great holiday, our unit was lovely and clean and we were blessed with unusually good weather for September so during the day were able to go out and see lots of places around beautiful cornwall.
we like to come away this time of the year because there is not to many children being of the older generation and those that were there were very well behaved. Matt the lifeguard was brilliant always a smile and time for a chat while keeping a beady eye on everyone... (read more)

We had a great holiday at Perran View we came down as a family to explore cornwall and enjoy the fantastic beaches. First impressions of the park were oh dear it looks a bit grim but its actually very nice umit nice and clean, nice green area outside reception for kids to play on. We spent most of our evenings in the clubhouse where the kids were kept totally entertained by the entertainers, they loved Freddy the Fox and Paxo the Chicken. Cabarets were all good well above the usual standard... (read more)

We are heading for Perran View on Fri 3rd Sept 2010. This will be our 2nd stay and looking forward to it. We are only paying £390 for the week so we will have plenty of money left for eating out at night (pub)
It does look more like a prison camp with the horrrrible paint scheme/pebble dash but I wont see much of it doewn the beach
The JF site at Coombe Martin is the best weve stayed at.

On site the shop has all the essentials and not stupidly priced

We are a family of four and stayed at Perran view from 17th July to the 24th and had a lovely time. Yes, the houses there are an unfortunate shade of pebble dash grey but inside the house (Sleeps 6-8) was clean and tidy, all linen and electric provided which cost us £600 for the week.
I found the site quiet, which suited us down to the ground, and a perfect place to use as a base to explore Cornwall. There was ample space for 6 people, personally i wouldn't like to get 8 in there but i like... (read more)

Cant believe that some people don't even give the place a chance some of the comments are just sour grapes. I agree some things need updating but on the whole a great site especially the ents team who do work weekends just not during the day, they are amazing with the kids and with the customers who comes to cornwall to sit in their accomodation anywhaY?? shop is pricey but perranporth is two miles away and you can always arrange delivery with tesco's. Ct Manchester's Comment

Written on: 28/07/2010

I found this review not helpful because...You give this place five stars then go on to say that the place needs updating, the shop is pricey, and there is no entertainment during the day!! I dont know about you but I want my kids to be entertained during the day too, in fact more so during the day as I dont want kids of six being up and about at 11pm.
You also pose a question of "who comes to cornwall to sit in their accomodation anyway?" it is not he case of wanting to sit in it all day but when I do go there I want to feel like it is clean, comfortable, and does not smell bad.
The other thing is the beaches are great! the problem with them is they are over 2 miles away, every other holiday park I have been to has been walking distance so having to drive then find parking and then pay to park is not what anyone with kids really wants to do.
Going out every day to find things for the kids to do is expensive and having some things on the park would be a help and if you dont agree then you obviously have more money available than I do, the cheap accommodation (thats not that cheap really!) becomes very expensive when you add all the money you spend taking the kids out every day.

We just got back from a weekend at Perran View Holiday Park, If you have kids dont go here! in fact just dont go here, We booked for a weekend and we left 9am on Sunday as we just could not stay any longer, there is nothing to do! the play area is dire, the football pitch is one goal with a basketball hoop above it, how do you play a game against people if there is only one goal? The tennis courts are full of loose gravel and slipping is almost impossible to avoid leading to grazed knee's... (read more)

Just got back from our family holiday at Perran View Holiday Park and im glad to be home.
One word jumps to mind to describe this Holiday Park DUMP.
We are a working class family and this was our holiday of the year, we are gutted we didnt read the reviews on here before we booked.
The good points were that the accommodation was clean and the swimming pool looked clean.
The down sides are
The site looks like an Army Barracks, grey pebble dashed buildings with no holiday atmosphere. No wonder... (read more)

Cost £430 for the bank holiday weekend at Perran View. Arrived after 2.5 hr drive 6 adults 1 child to find musty smell. Toilet smelling of urine, shower curtain mouldy, bed settees disgusting - ended up putting twin beds together and sleeping in with my daughter!!!!
Swimming pool was closed.
Found out toilet was leaking urine.
Left early due to the state definetly wouldn't recommend, just wish we had checked the reviews before we booked!!

Dont expect the ritz, this is a typical john fowler site, basic, needs updating, could be cleaner but at their prices what do people expect especially if you are using the sun hols deals. The only thing we didnt like was the awful smell of cigarette smoke in our appartment, it hit you as you walked in, all the bedding smelt of it too!! Also found ash on the bathroom floor when we arrived, so either the cleaner didnt do her job after the chain smokers had been in our place before us or... (read more)

Can't believe what some people have been writing about Perran View Holiday Park. Its not the staffs fault that parents allow their children to run around the club room. All of the staff at the park are very friendly and excellent at their job, the bar staff are always happy to help and are always in a good mood, the ents team are excellent and do a great job at keeping the children and adults entertained, the pool attendant does an excellent job at making sure the pool is clean and safe for... Been to Perran View a few times now and we have never had a bad experience at the park. All the staff are extremely friendly, the accomodation is nice but could be better. You can't expect a unit to be smelling fresh all the time when it is years old. The entertainments team do their job really well and make you feel really welcome at the park. We have already booked another holiday there in September 2010 which will be the sixth time we visit the park. We can't wait to go back, counting the... (read more)

How I wish I had read the reviews first! Words like damp, dirty and dangerous sum up the week my family and some friends have just spent there. The downstairs toilet was a disgrace and our first job was to ring reception to get a clean toilet brush! The 8 berth part of the accommodation was a joke! A "pull-out" settee, more like a pull-out death trap. My friends ended up sleeping on the floor instead as it was more comfortable. The swimming pool was only open for 2 hours a day and the... Arrived at Perran view after a five and half hour drive to find
a chalet that smelt damp and the first thing my husband done was to clean the toilet and bathroom (as well as remove the dirty underwear left from previous guest).
The mould around the bath put you of having one.
The rest for the iron on the ironing board was complete rusty and the light in the bathroom was so old i think it might have been ilegal.it was an open metal shade with an electric heater ring around it.

Booked this holiday in Feb 09, for July 13th-July 20th 2009, with John Fowlers. After booking this holiday i decided to read other holiday makers reviews. Most of the reviews i read were very negative, so as you can imagine i was concerned about the area, accommadation and facilities. Basically, i now was'nt looking forward to this holiday and my expectations wern't high. However, when i arrived at Perran View holiday park it wasn't as bad as other people had said it was. Written on: 18/05/2009

Whoever built Perran View Holiday Park for holidays had a wicked sense of humour. The grey drab terraced buildings looked more like a run down council estate from the 50's. Our unit was no.13 and if they had bothered to replace the doors where they had been constantly kicked, put a new coat of emulsion on the walls, and renewed the floor coverings they may have started to look cheerful. The beds were clean, but the duvet was too small to cover two people who might move slightly in the night.... (read more)
