I feel sad that so many people didn't like this park. We had a brilliant stay. The best self catering accommodation we have ever had! Very helpful friendly staff, clean comfy bungalow, peaceful, child friendly, and a lovely setting in the woods. PERFECT for families our children 2 & 5 loved the foxy club. I would recommend it to all my friends. We stayed OCT 2009 it was not damp even though its was raining outside. Please give it a go unless you are used to 5 star hotels.

Well... where do I start... PLEASE DO NOT PUT YOURSELF THROUGH THIS. When I was walking up to the chalet I had my doubts and they were confirmed as I walked in. The smell of damp hits you like a hammer to the head and the furnishings are outdated. The beds are hard and uncomfortable and the wall where I moved the bed was covered in mould. Asked for another chalet which was exactly the same and there 'wasn't an upgrade available'. Light fell off the wall when we tried to move it. Both my boyfrien ...

What a Stinking Hell Hole we did manage to stay one night then the Damp Fumes nearly intoxicated us so we found a B&B in St Ives which was Beautiful.

The Damp has the potential to be a health Hazard and I'm sure under Health and Safety this place would be Shutdown.

I would recomend That John Fowler hire's a JCB and brings this outdated park to a great heap for Bonfire night.

People in Prison stay in better rooms!!

    Beware and be Warned!!

My partner and I spent a week in a brick bungalow at John Flowler in St Ives for which we only paid £150 which I thought was reasonable. Admittedly the place was damp but that was because we were in a woodland and went out all day so only opened the windows early morning and briefly in the evening. There were no dog fleas this time but the tv service was bad - there was a banner across the screen most of the time saying that a new Sky viewing card should be ordered immediately but didn't s ...

Well where do i start we came here for a short weekend break through Sun holidays, we visit Cornwall quite a lot because St Ives is such a beautiful place. The park though does not live p to expectations i had. It is dated and th chalets are a disgrace, we arrived and the chalet was not ready so we had to wait no problem we were early. By not being ready i can only think they did not have time to neatly arrange the past users hair around the bath or distibute the dirt around the windows etc. The ...

    Dear Sir or Madam
We are writing to complain about the standard of accommodations at St Ives Holiday Village where we have just spent a short break.
We arrived on Monday 5th October full of optimism about our holiday, with our three year old daughter. When we got to the chalet which was a bronze woodland chalet, we were greeted by lots of flies in the accomodation. The chalet smelt damp which aggravated my Husband's Asthma and my daughter developed a chesty cough. At least the bed linen w ...

Returned yesterday from a weekend visit. St Ives is a beautiful village which made staying in the Holiday Village bearable. The most important thing for us was that it was warm and dry with hot running water - success! The forest and wildlife were very pretty. The entertainment was dire and one of the female receptionists was rude and disinterested. Didn't bother with the pool as it closed by the time we returned from our touring of Cornwall. I would say the chalet was very comfortable and ...

John Fowler Holiday Village, nr st. Ives

    What a hell hole!!
Damp, so smelly that it took your breath when you walked into the 'wooden chalet' that reminded us of an old army barracks. Grass growing from the gutters and roof, mould up the walls, rotten windows and doors, a sofa that looked like a large dirty dog had been sleeping on it.....it was the pits! We complained and were offered an alternative that was identical, so told them they could stick it. They gave us a part reimbursement. Three ...

I read the reviews on this site about John Fowler, St. Ives Holiday Village and decided to just go for it and that it would all be ok! Oh my god how wrong could i have been, what a hole! All i can say is that it is rotten and should be closed down immeditly!
The sheds as they can only be refered to are damp, dirty, stinking and outdated! There were wasps painted over on the windows because they were to lazy to remove them before painting, the beds wernt even fit for a dog, they were also damp, ...

We are presently staying at St Ives Holiday Village Park and as we have travelled over 600 miles to get here are not really in the position to up sticks and move on. The "Gold" standard accomodation is very disappointing although adequate, the staff are friendly enough but it can be like talking to bricks in a wall when problems arrive. Today we had to contact reception as our car had been vandalised in the night along with another 15-20 cars on site. A non-commital answer as to if the Police h ...

Just got back from st Ives holiday park the worst holiday park i have been to. dirty, damp, and outdated. the only thing that kept me there was the days out in Cornwall and we only slept in the accommodation.every time we went to the park it was depressing.the swimming pool was cold, dirty, slide was not working and had paint peeling off it,even if it had been working i wouldnt have trusted my children going on it! It was that bad after one go in the pool we then payed to use the leisure centre ...

have just returned from st ives holiday village what a disgrace.after a five and half hour drive we were looking forward to a nice relaxing mid week break instead all we got was stress. every where was dirty and very out dated. when we finally got our keys for our accommodation we found it was a shed which was already occupied with the spiders and flies.the furniture was very old and worn with holes in and looked like it had a mouse living in it. the whole place was a mess there was peeling fla ...

My wife and I have just returned from a weeks holiday at St Ives Holiday Village staying in a Trevacroft style bungalow. We decided to stay here again after a really good experience around 10 years ago - Oh what a shock we had coming. The cleanliness of the bungalow was disgraceful and continual smells and dampness throughout led to both of us catching colds !!
Entertainment - what a joke, although no disrespect to the 3 people responsible who obviously work with very restricted budgets. All in ...

We have just returned from a mid-week break from St Ives holiday Village. We have two children (5 & 2 years old). Where do I begin.........firstly the chalet was absolutely vile. It was really damp and smelly. In fact it was so damp that our honey cheerios cereal that we brought with us for the kids all stuck together in the box and turned into one large clump. The sofa in the lounge area was broken and you sank almost onto the floor, there was no shower and only a half sized bath and there were ...

What a shame we didn't read these reviews or do any research on this John Fowler site in St Ives Holiday Village before we went!! We stayed in one of the Trevacroft bungalows, totally disgusting, the place was damp, the bathroom absolutely stank almost unbearable and was filthy to include hairs left in the bath. One morning we awoke to find slugs and snails crawling around the floor. Beds were damp and felt wet and on returning home we found our clothes to include unworn items had mould growin ...
