Good Points: Nice area, staff usually very helpful, can usually ask for particular caravans if available. We just love Bude, there are 2 nice beaches within walking distance and some more in Bude. Also in Bude are 3 supermarkets and petrol is usually cheap at Morrisons.
Bad Points: Entertainment is not as good as it used to be, it's now aimed at kids for most of the evening and the cabaret seems to be relegated to after 10 pm. They used to have kids stuff till 8pm then the adults entertainment from then on. They also used to have better acts but now they seem to be using an agency.
General comments: We first went to Widemouth Bay in 1995 and have been back at least once every year since and intend to for the forseeable future as its like a second home and we now have friends in Bude. There are some nice views both on the site and locally. Also, most of the time getting about the area was quite easy. But our main reason was that you can have a really good holiday without having to spend a fortune.

A great site for a family. If not stay well clear. Freddy fox club is on all time and cabaret is good at times. Caravans are great and have everything you need. If you need a base to stay Widemouth bay is great!

Very dissappointed, as we had waited a long time for our holiday, and it is not exactly the cheapest around by far!!!Hopefully the staff will be treated better themselves when they pay to go on their own holiday.

The site is a very small place that tries to be like Butlins or Haven
If its that sort of thing you want stick to Haven and Butlins otherwise you will be disappointed. The only thing to do in Bude is surf. If your kids like arcades etc. go to Newquay. We drove there nearly every day. 80 mile round trip. Better beaches cheaper and more to do. All the attractions are around Newquay.

Met some great people, the head of security is a really nice bloke, got on with him well, as were the entertainers. Also they had some good cabaret acts. The whole place was very clean & tidy and well looked after.
The pool is great, yes at times it does get busy, but it is open for 8 hours odd, so it's not all the time.
All in all for the money you pay, the whole experience is fantastic.
No doubt we're going back next year.

Despite being unable to get into caravan until after 4pm found caravan well maintained and clean. Parking was a bit awkward at John Fowler's Widemouth Bay Caravan Park as we had driven down in 2 cars and space is limited. Campsite entertainment "complex", friendly pub area, bar food/takeaway food was good/edible and value for money, arcades limited, crazy golf poor, children's climbing frame was good, and swimming pool was clean but busy at times. Upon arrival the check in process was fast and polite, the accomodation was a budget caravan and well surpased expectation. The site shop, swimming pool, clubhouse and atmosphere were all excellent! Widemouth beach is fantastic with clean sands and great facilities. I would recommend this park to any family with children of any age as there really is something for all. I had a brilliant time here at the John Fowler Widemouth Bay Caravan Park. The entertainment team really made my holiday in the evenings. They put it excellent shows and booked great Caberet. I'd highly recommend it.
