Turned up sunday afternoon, to stay for 5 nights, staff were all very well turned out, and very polite, Caravan was very clean, (a credit to Paul the cleaner) and more important it smelt nice too. The site was very well kept , cannot speek highly enough of the whole place, All in all , would have no hesitation of going back again, and would recomend it to every one. (read more)

I feel guilty leaving an average rating as so much of the site is much better than that, however it was let down in a few areas. Upon arrival at our caravan we were struck with a musty, dog smell...and proceeded to visit Looe to get some Fabreeze, after borrowing a vac cleaner and giving the carpet a real going over(there was lots of dog hair still on the carpet) the van smelt fine and was clean and good value for money. Most of the facilities were excellent and clean, we used the indoor... (read more)

We booked the gold caravan and were able to take our dog which is very unusual. On arrival the check in process was quick and we had our keys 2 hours early. Our caravan was much better than we had expected it was like home from home! This is an excellent base if you're looking for a quiet, relaxing family holiday. Our children aren't really interested in the children's entertainment as they're a bit old for it however they enjoyed the park, swimming pools and amusements. The only downside... (read more)

Hi, we went on a Fri to Mon break at Trelawne Manor Holiday Park and stopped in a caravan which I have to say was lovely and clean and spacious. The park is kept clean itself, but I have to say the arcade, childrens playgound and the swimming pool need attention as they are now looking very tired and the swimming pool/changing rooms etc were filthy. The entertainment in our opinion was poor, but found the staff very friendly and willing to assist in any way - the park is relaxing itself, but... (read more)

I own a static caravan at Trelawne Manor. Being a 'senior' I took time to have a look around at various other sites in that part of Cornwall, but kept coming back to Trelawne.
The site itself is idylic. The old manor stood in wooded and lawned grounds which at certain times of the year are awash with bluebells and snowdrops.
The old manor itself is very well maintained, and used as the offices, entertainment centre etc. The park itself is set on what used to be the lawns around the...

What can I say, about our stay at Fowlers in the 1st week September 2010, No keys ready until after 5 oclcok and thats with ringing head office to complain, good point was the chef with a barbi, which was okay if you liked Barbi's, the staff's attitude was garbage, and as for the site manager (unprintable). we got to our accomodation which was the same as we had last year, we only had time to dump the bags and open a few windows as it smelt closed up, this apartment was refurbed the previous... Hello, We went to Trelawne Manor last week (16-23rd of october 2010) and we stayed in a private rented caravan. We were meant to stay from the saturday and leave the saturday, but we left a day early here is why. When we arrived, the reception staff took 20 mins to get our keys. The swimming pool changing rooms were cold and dirty, and only had a tiny little heater on the wall. The showers (in the ladies) were freezing. My travelling companion had to borrow someones to phone 'home'. Though i think he missed a digit out. Not to worry.Very nice part of the UK but the people arent exactly friendly. Id go as far to say downright disrespectful.

Apartment was in a poor state, mould across the ceiling and the walls had streaks all down as if they had been power washed. Very shabby. Complained and was given a caravan, this looked very tired and shabby too but a little better than the apartment. Think the whole place needs a make over. Disappointed that you couldn't get food until 6pm and NO restaurant.
The only good thing was that the STAFF were very pleasant.

We (myself, my husband & 12yr old Son) have just returned from a very relaxing long weekend booked through the Sun newspaper.
The 1st thing to be aware of is that all the roads leading to the park, for a fair few miles, are single track lanes. We didn't find them to be overly busy and there are frequent passing areas but the local buses and delivery vehicles do speed along.
The park itself is beautiful and well kept. There are many open grassy areas and trees. The caravans aren't too...

Dear Guest,
What a pity the minority spoilt it for the majority as in your case the rowdy neighbours when you stayed at Trelawne, its a pity your stay was spoilt, don't let that put you off though, I am sure that if you reported it to the Reception the next day, and contacted the Head office at Ilfracomb, and asked to speak to Mr Martin Fowler, the rest of your stay would have been better, however, it could have been the possibility that they actually owned the caravan as there are a lot of owners vans on this site, either way it does not give them the right to make your stay uncomfortable.

Well it just goes to show that old saying "don't knock it til you have tried it" works then.
I recently commented on a review from a person saying everything is not to each others taste, and it isn't,

The best thing about the review centre is you can pass your comments, but take it on board very lightly.

Me an my family have done John Fowler's for the last 8 years, we travel from Yorkshire, and have been disappointed ONCE on the 1st night, but we added to that fun by making sure the entertainments staff where the victims and not the parents, even though we was, but when we get told it was the best week they had had, then we went home planning for next year. Trelawne will not know what has hit them, when we go, as we know one of the staff from last year

We have yet to have our holiday at J.F Trelawne Manor, for the 1st time, we have had holidays with JF at St Ives and Tolroy Manor, the latter I would recommend, we have enjoyed 8 continuous years with JF, and have at times experienced, "It's not the same as last year", until we got into it and we enjoyed every day, there are a number of factors involved the weather, that is the main factor, although people read these reviews I would suggest that you never take on board, seriously these comments or you would never get any where, as the saying goes "don't knock it til you try it" each person have their own opinion, we have always been sceptical of what to expect, and been disappointed ONCE, to start with and by the end of the week, you would have thought we was the stripy's, we got thank you's from staff and holiday people, some said they had never laughed so much, we was nicknamed the Tolroy Terrors, I heckle the bingo caller, and that's when the fun starts, I am victim every night and I love it, though some serious bingo players don't appreciate it (sorry) and we will be doing the same this year, so watch out Trelawne the Terrors are coming, 1st week September so those of you that are going we will see ya there
