I went to South Bay on 8th Aug 2009
After reading reviews on it I was dreading it!
I went with my partner, son aged 17, son aged 11,sister,brother in law and their son aged 17.we had very good weather and were able to go out and about each day, there are some stunning views and beaches and Brixham harbour is very quaint,I loved it.However the site itself was'nt overly exciting and if the weather had been bad and you had to rely on the site facilities you would be rather bored at any age,the swimmi ...- Read MRS KIM ELSOM's review (269 words)

Third time that we have been to South Bay and the site seems to have lost it's way.
Pool was dirty and closed early everyday.
Shop/club/cafe were all expensive and poor quality.
Entertainers were young, few in number and not really very "entertaining".
Our caravan was excellent, but was privately owned so cannot comment about the standard of the site's accomodation.
Very disappointed to see the decline in this site.

We booked a week at this caravan park and left after three days. Gold standard caravan dirty and complete with dog hairs embedded in the carpet and furniture. Mouldy taps, stained duvets and pillows. Shabby reception area smelt of stale smoke, small swimming pool, broken swings in the park and this was in the school summer holidays - peak season! £1,100 for a week (well three days!) will never be going back or recommending to a friend (or enemy!). Friendly staff was about the only posi ...- Read Guest's review (108 words)

had a awful week at south bay holiday park. the caravan was lovely however the entertainment was outdated and poor. the team of entertainers were very laid back n thought more of themselves than what the kids wanted. they spent most time not out in public view and everything they did on stage was of a poor standard.
definately would not go back, sad as went there 5yrs ago and had an amazing time.- Read Guest's review (79 words)

ok so South Bay Holiday Park was a lovely quiet park, but with 2 teenagers to entertain, there wasn't much for them to do, especailly when it rained, pool was good but closed for lunch, just reminded me of the place we used to visit when i was a child, the entertainment, amusements etc just doesn't seem to have moved with the times, came back on the last nite, and dont think i would consider going again.- Read NASH9102's review (93 words)

Very clean and tidy site with friendly staff, good central point for visiting Devon. Modern caravan although cold at night. Very little to do on the park, no facilities other than the pool, unable to use crazy golf facility as it was being painted. The site shop was closed between 1200 and 1600 every day, local shops a good 30 minute walk from the site. Entertainment for kids very poor especially in the evenings. Family holiday with two toddlers but found this site and it's facilities far from a ...- Read Guest's review (92 words)

The guys in foxy club were super with the kids and pool staff are second to none. Good to know kids are in safe hands. myself, partner, stepdaughter, mother, my daughter and 2 grand kids had a great time. Accommodation and site was spotless and all staff were only glad to help, many thanks to all concerned at South Bay Holiday Park. Cheers for now.- Read grandadjim's review (75 words)

A lovely quiet holiday park. Arrived quite late, caravan was very clean, beds were made and table laid out. Very welcoming. The indoor/outdoor pool was clean and there is a small play area and crazy golf. This site was very nice, but does not have as many facilities as other large parks. It suited us though, as it has everything we required and is ideal for small children. Meals on site are very cheap. Ideal as a base for visiting Brixham, Torquay and Paignton. The site is at the top of a hill, ...- Read Dogwell's review (125 words)

Arrived at the John Fowler South Bay Holiday Park early after a 6 hour drive, made to feel welcome at once. My partner and our three children found plenty to do all week. An excellent location to base a holiday from. A few small problems were dealt with without fuss or delay. High marks for everything and everyone at this excellent holiday camp.- Read markady's review (81 words)
