Good Points: Excellent clarity, excellent color, good autofocus. Many great features that I had not even considered including on-camera playback with zoom capability. Also, can play on any TV with an auxiliary input. On-camera editing includes resolution resizing, multiple photo viewing, bad shot deletion, etc.

Bad Points: No viewfinder. Add-on, third-party, prismatic viewer helps but is clumsy. Slow bootup.

General comments: Had this Sony DSC-F505V digital camera about three years now. Not as fast as newer cameras, slow bootup causes some missed shots. Was very upset when I found out that 128 Megs would be the maximum it could see. Am still impressed with the picture quality and the lens system. The biggest negative is the lack of a viewfinder but found a 3rd party add-on that helps in the sun. Add-on is a little clumsy to use. Found a special case made just for this series of cameras. Case holds camera, spare memory sticks, and extra batteries. Battery charge lasts well, but battery life is about two years. Two batteries will get me through a full day of tourist type shooting of, say, 50 photos over 8-10 hours. A useful add-on is a car charger.

Incredible clearity, although not all pictures come out clearly, the ones that do are great. The Sony DSC-F505V digital camera is very easy to use and works great in low light situations. I hate the ridiculous Memory Stick though, it means you pay twice as much for memory and the highest memory stick available is only 128MB, once movies and stills are recorded, 128mb is not enough. Sony uses the Memory Stick in order to make money off of you, long after you purchased the digi-cam.

I have had the Sony DSC-F505V camera for nearly six months now and although I have been using it from the start I am still learning more and more about it as I venture out in the warmer weather.
