I have been with Prosperity 4 Business Advice (www.prosperity4.com) for two years now. They always pay me when they are meant to. They always ring me up during the year to make sure I am enjoying being with them. There was one instance where they actually rang me back and spoke to the bank manager beacuse HSBC slowed down my wages and P4 didn't want to let me down. They are top notch, they will do anything for you. (read more)

Go with JSA, I wish I had. Prosperity 4 never pick up the phone, and you have to leave numerous messages. By the time they call it's at the end of the day, so once again you have to chase them the next day.
My P45 came 2 months late, and the money that was owing to me was not settled when my contract finished. I had to keep reminding them to process it in time for the next payroll. The Sales staff are friendly (and persistent as they want you to be with them), and a few account managers...

I have been with Prosperity 4 Business for over 18 months now.
When I started they were absolutely disgraceful. I am an easy going person with realistic expectations, but P4 were professionally incompetent, rude, and in general caused me nothing but grief.
Things have improved of late. They are still far from perfect, but I think there may have been a number of management changes, and particularly over the last couple of months, there have been significant changes for the better. I would...

When I joined Prosperity 4, I did look around at other umbrellas which on the face looked cheaper. Although the fees for Prosperity 4 were higher, I was projected a higher return. This was explained to me being due to the expenses policy. I was apprehensive to start with but as the sent me a copy of the IR certificate I decided to give them a go.
I have seen negative press since joining but have had no problems at all, in fact everything is going very well. I have recommended a friend and...

Prosperity 4 Business Advice charges are extremely high.
They failed to send me my P60, and despite many emails to them still have not sent it. I get plenty of excuses, but no service for the huge sums they charge. Typicaly 6%.

When starting with Prosperity 4 i was told the fee was £15 a week which when paid was hyperinflated and varied from £35 to £47 a week. I was also not informed about the held account which I did not want. The cancellation fee of £200 was only brought to light when I mentioned closing my account, and the money back guarantee was nowhere to be seen. I would not even recommend this umbrella company to my worst enemy. (read more)

www.prosperity4.com is a very good company. I was given an account manager who made sure my payments were on time and correct. Still early days but I've not had to worry about as I've been notified everytime an invoice is raised and payment received by agency. (read more)

Yes I agree! I have had the same problem! They are awful, I did not get paid for three months and when I did they insisted on holding back monies every time. I am scared of terminating in case I do not get my money.

Prosperity 4's expenses policy is valid only for legitimate contractors - and this is based solely on the nature of your work, where and when you work and the duration of your work etc. Working through prosperity 4 does NOT automatically make you a contractor and free to claim expenses - only IR can make this determination, not prosperity 4. Seek independent financial advice, and if you truly are a contractor (outside IR35), set up a limited company and avoid their high fees and contractual charges.
