I have spent the better part of a saturday afternoon trying to log on to this website. It is so painfully slow and is not getting anywhere. The entire security process is extremely painful and even though I have entered the correct details it throws me out. After couple of calls and attempts, I managed to get in and it doesnt get any better. This website is so slow and primitive, it should be shut down. Find the site crowded and confusing; all I wanted to do was to arrange to view my savings account online. I think I will stick with the very helpful Scots ladies who provide the telephone service - although it was one of these angels who pointed me in the direction of the website! (read more)

I have had nothing but trouble with my online savings account. Access most of the time is impossible, even though I know the information I give is correct. Having to phone the call centre is a nightmare and then being asked to send in yet another lot of security information. I have threatened to close the account several times but this time I really mean it. (read more)

They say that several banks are not good for quick loans because it tooks even a month of business works just to lend a money and that can be a weekness . In the other side security is what they build up rather than online companies where people can experience scamming because of necessities . In the first place you really need to know first the background of where you would apply for. (read more)

Greedy interest rate. Always goes up even when base rates are low. Will never use them again and I would advise you not to. My card payments balance was just over £6000 everytime I paid £150 it never went below the 6K. The interest at over 21% just killed my payments eventhough I hadn't spent any money.

I have also just had big problems logging in to sainsburys bank despite doing this for a year without problems.
The system locked me out even when I know that the login details were correct. I then couldn't reset my account with the additional data so I called the help desk. They asked me some security questions, one I got wrong so I now have to send all my ID stuff in the post to prove who I am. WHAT A PAIN and how over the top. A really really bad buggy website. Latest problem was explained away by telephone support as being due to the need to physically type http://www.sainsburysbank.co.uk into url window rather than clicking e.g. on an Outlook contacts link to http://www.sainsburysbank.co.uk !!! I would probably not even recommend this shower to an enemy.
I have (now closing) £100k in an internet account since Oct 2009. At that time on 3% interest. I phoned in April 2010 and was told the 3% will continue until Oct 2010. I phone today, 2 Oct and am told the rate went down to 0.45% on 31 March. No communicationm from Sainsburys on this. Absolutely disgraceful.

It is virtually impossible to log on to the website. How is someone supposed to remember a user name plus five separate passwords? I have emptied my savings account and given up. I don't have the time to ring up a call centre every time I want to check my balance. (read more)

Have recently opened an account. Registered to get on-line access, but then when I tried to access the account to check the deposit had been credited, it said the security information was wrong. I called the help desk, who just said I had to re-send all the identification documentation and they would re-set the account. I'm not convinced their security is working properly so I will close the account once I can get at my money. (read more)

Just joined the bank,, so far the security to log on seems complicated also when logging on there is no link identified for you to access your account you have to go through the registration link, this is not good.
Not impressed with the other reviews will give it a month if no good will move. (read more)

I am very glad to read that other people are having trouble logging on to their accounts. Every time I try, it tells me my answers don't match their records. We chose this account because of the interest rate, but now I'm not sure what to do and don't even know whether my money is still there! There's no 24-hour helpline either which is very frustrating if you want help out of hours. (read more)

I have found this product very secure and in the past quite difficult to use but more recently very efficient and understand the secxurity much more. It is quite easy to follow and very efficient although I would like to see the monies shown on the accounts a little quicker when transfering internally. (read more)

I found this service absolutely dreadful. Many times I have tried to log in, with no success. I have received letters telling me that there are problems at Head Office and that they will shortly be sorted. That was some time ago. I am still unable to access my account, so have decided to close it.

I had difficulty getting anywhere with my complaint to 0500 40 50 60 about not being able to purchase on-line with my Sainsbury Bank Mastercard. All went well until I reached payment stage when I had to quote details of my 3D Secure cover. Sainsbury`s have no concern for their 'customers' whtsoever. Automated 'push button this and push button that' with no chance to speak to a human. But why bother to employ people when they cost money when an automated system is cheap.

Still hanging on hoping that someone will answer my phone calls - 15 minutes so far - third occasion of trying on separate days - always give message re very high call volumes and at least 20 minute wait - is this deliberate? Maybe it's a money raising number a la children in need :-) As other users have said, website claimed my password/special information did not match their records so I cannot log on but also cannot see how I have got the information wrong. I started the process of opening an on-line savings account over a month a ago. Still not heard anything from them. Three weeks ago I received a letter (the third!) saying that 'unable to verify my identity electronically'. I telephoned and spoke to an operative and explained that I had already sent the documents requested. Absolutely useless. I have been unable login into my Sainsburys credit card account for the past three weeks. It just does not recognise my login details, I have phoned Sainsburys bank about this and they just haven't got a clue when things will be sorted. They just keep saying we are trying to rectify the fault. Hello Sainsburys, this is the 21st century. This is the age of Technology. When I first opened a Sainsbury's Bank Internet Banking account the interest rate was excellent, however it is now not.
to log into the site is never straight forward or simple.
normally having to use my wifes details as the site normally refuses to recognise my own.

It works for me. I've had to request new password details as I forgot mine, and they arrived by post a few days later. The interest rate seems quite stable, not wonderful but not awful either. They aren't a mortgage bank, which was important to me when some banks were close to failing! I can transfer monies between various accounts I've set up, so far without problem.
I just wanted an internet savings a/c an this seems fine. I haven't explored credit cards or anything else so can't comment... (read more)

Had to wait over two months for a new Credit Card to be issued and sent to me, due allegedly, to "a shortage of plastic"! When it arrived, every ATM machine I used said that the card 'could not be recognised'. Utter rubbish - use them at your peril. (read more)

You seem to exist in a world of your own. We recently had information that our credit card was being changed to Mastercard. We have not had the new cards, yet, on receiving the new statement, it was in the new card - I have had to set up the new card details without having a card. (read more)

What more can I say about Sainsburys Internet Banking other the above? On the whole I am quite satisied and if there is some problem the telephone it always quickly answered and the problem soon solved. (read more)

Sainsburys Internet Banking should make it more simple to get access more easily to my accounts. I am also a member of HSBC and get through to my accounts with no problem whatsover, taking but just a few seconds. (read more)

I found it absolutely impossible to manage an account online with Sainsbury internet saver.
They should be referred to the Trading Standards.
Every time you send an email, you wait 24 hours for a reply and then they ask you to 'phone.
Never mind you might be at work. Never mind it might not be convenient to 'phone (giving personal security details). Never mind you MIGHT NOT WANT to 'phone.
Sainsbury knows best - the Customer is King concept has not yet reached this bank and is never likely to. (read more)

Sainsbury's Bank Internet Banking www.sainsburysbank.co.uk need to get into the 21st century, there is plenty of competition out there which is much better & easier to work with. I have had difficulty getting into web site, takes too long that is if you are lucky, usually takes about three attempts, looking to close and transfer top a more friendly site. (read more)

When I tried to transfer funds, Sainsbury not only did not transfer my money, they did not even email me or 'phone.
For one transfer I attempted on 19.9.07., nothing happened, no call, no transfer. I 'phoned and was shunted around Sainsbury - everyone saying they knew nothing of my request.
The last straw - I was asked to phone the Banking Licence Help Desk on 5.10.07.(2+ weeks later) This was a Friday but the recorded message I received told me that the BLHD was only open Monday-Friday!... (read more)

After several lengthly telephone calls, and re-sending by registered post yet again, all my relevant details to re-activate, all at my cost, I still could not activate my account. It agitates me to try and go online to access my account and not be able to get a result. Not happy at all with these arrangements. They should use an 0800 free phone number for customer services. I recently lost my credit card and wallet and had no money on me to phone their lost and stolen number, so I had to wait until I got back home, some 200 miles away before I could report it. When you phone the number, you get several options to press and even more advertising promoting their mortgages and loans! Applied over the internet to open an account. A letter confirming the account had been opened arrived 2 days later but in the envelope was three other confirmation of new account letters addressed to three other new applicants showing their name, address, account number and sort-code. This has put me off investing my money with them if this is the level of service and security they offer. After reading the other reviews on this site it has put me off even more. (read more)

Sainsburys Bank sent me a standing order form and payment envelopes, but after 2 weeks I am still waiting for my internet account to be authorised, despite having had the £400 that I paid into my account credited. The people on the phone cut me off when I tried to find out what was happening. I am now considering taking my money and moving it to a different account. (read more)
