As other people have said Citibank have terrible customer server. You end up waiting for ever to talk to someone in India over very poor telephone lines.
They do not appear to read the notes of previous calls and messages or maybe they just don't make any.
Our most recent as yet unresolved issue was caused by Citibank sending correspondence to an address that does not exist and then locking our account because they did not respond. After many calls we got them to change the address back to...

I've had the misfortune to have a UK Citibank account for 7 years. Ever since opening the account I have experienced nothing but problems. Their call centre is next to useless, customer service laughable and dealing with them via their messaging service is a joke. Not once have I ever had to lodge a complaint against any organisation however to date Citibank have attracted 3 complaints from myself due to their complete mismanagement of my account and subsequent loss of many thousands of... Do not use Citibank. I've had the misfortune to use them for 10 years. Consitantly awful customer service, even when I switched to their gold account offering. The indian call centre is a nightmare to deal with and when I have had major problems the account managers in the few London branchs seem equally useless / powerless to actually sort anything out. I ultimately ended up speakign to some kind of compliants resolution department who were equally useless. In the end after repeating my... (read more)

Citibank's call centre in India will have you throwing the phone against the wall - incredibly long wait times (if you get through), robotic operators, amazing bureaucracy.
Save yourself the frustration - go with a bank with a UK call centre with "bankers" on the end of the line - not data input clerks.

Friggen useless! Opened a US Bank Account in the UK, and have had nothing but problems. Citibank in the US don't want and can't help at all, Citibank UK only give a charged number in the UK to contact them by and you've got to wait with everybody else - so very expensive. Can't withdraw any money due to apparently a daily withdrawal limit and a different weekly withdrawal limit, as well as a transaction limit. Help centre is indian which is of no help at all. We are currently in the usa... (read more)

If you are seriously considering opening any bank account with Citibank, read this story. I opened an Ultimate Money Account (a high-yield savings account) and an EZ-Checking Account with Citibank. I put $850 into both accounts via electronic checks from my existing checking account. Within 3 business days, there was $850 in both accounts according only to Citibank. Since my existing checking account had been slow before to show a balance change, I thought everything was fine. 4 days... (read more)

Egg is part of the Citibank group. My own review of my Egg experience is on this site.

I am amazed at the apparent lack of thought that seems to go into some of the banking sites. I have used Bank of America and it is by far the best. Important perks to me are setting bill payments when you want them delivered rather than sent. It also doesn't seem that it would be much of a stretch to show your current ledger balance AND your balance minus whatever disbursements are scheduled. For many of us these are important bits of information that make a difference day-to-day. There... (read more)

I recently opened an account with them, and I tried out their internet banking. Unfortunately, their internet banking system is below par when compared with other UK banks.
Usually, with other major banks, you could easily schedule future BACS payments by them allowing you to set-up a future date, or schedule future payments instantly after setting up a bill payee, but not with Citibank. 'Your new payee account will be set-up in 2 working days.' How very efficient! By the way, the staff on...

I should mention that I am terrible at math, and I tend to have some creative banking ideas. Citibank web services have been able to accommodate all my banking quirks. Customer service in the bank and on the phone has been excellent. I would never go back to paper checks. I have never had any additional fees or surprises. I have had as many as 50 payees on my schedule, and for a time I had decided to pay them all weekly just to see if it would affect the interest I was paying and leave... (read more)

CitiBank online Banking Service is ridiculous. Last year, I opened an account, which they said to make 2 x 100 dollars (if you save a minimum of $1500, and pay two checks in of no less than 20 dollars each month). Unfortunately, I never got any rebate. In addition, now, I totally dislike their service, and I tried to take out my money, but they charged me 60 dollars because of their tricks. By the way, when I asked them to close my account the first time, the representative hung up on me! I... (read more)

I had a terrible time setting up my EZchecking account with Citibank Internet Banking, due to the poor system at Citibank itself. Their email responses to complaints are canned and impersonal i.e. computer generated. They charge $3.00 to electronically transfer money from my Citibank account to an external account I own. They cannot set up automatic (monthly) transfers of funds in either direction between Citibank and external accounts, and there are various other hidden fees and limitations. (read more)

The Citibank Internet Banking web interface is extremely basic, barely enough for basic banking services. The webpages literally look like they have been put together in a rush to start the service and get your money.
I tried to access it from abroad and it always took forever to simply load the homepage citibank.co.uk. Finding the sort code of your account requires quite a bit of navigation within the website (it's not mentioned in the papers they send you), and if you do it from abroad it...

Spyware tracking of your banking transaction is now mandatory.
Citibank has started forcing you to allow 3rd party cookies to track your movements when you pay bills, review your bank statements, make money transfers, and handle investments. Allowing this intrusion use to be optional.
I think it is appalling that you don't even have privacy when you are performing banking transactions. The only cookies that should be required are those from citibank.com, not other websites. This...

Could not have put it better myself, dreadful website, apalling customer service, incompetant staff.

The staff at the call centre do not want to listen and want to pin the blame on the customer. My Citbank account in the UK was closed by me after seven days as my experience with them was so poor.
