Good Points: Travel insurance, Phone insurance, Breakdown cover, ID theft protection, Home Insurance Disscount, Loan disscount, Extended warranty cover.
Bad Points: Havent yet used holiday discounts.
General comments: Easiest way to save money. I used to pay £9.99 a month phone insurance £117pa for breakdown £50pa travel insurance £80pa ID theft. All comes to £367. Also saved me money on my home insurance ( £19 per month! Abbey is a rip off) and 1% off my loan. I pay £12.95 per month £155 pa; it saves me £440 per year. And I only use half the benefits. So easy, no money up front either. Looked at other banks packaged accounts, same idea, same price, half the stuff.

I have a Natwest advantage gold bank account and love it. My husband and I were both paying £5.99 each mobile phone insurance but now we have them covered with the Gold account. We saved £540 on a family holiday to Florida and £392 on a family trip to turkey and our travel insurance was free with teh advantage gold. I bought a new washer and dryer which came with a 1 year manufacturers warranty. I phoned advantage gold who provided an additional years warranty which the sto ...

Is it just me or does anyone else find Natwest's approach to charges a bit high? If you have a direct debit go out that you have not got sufficient funds for they send it back (pretty standard) then having returned the direct debit they charge you (also pretty normal) but on he same day! Now if you don't have the funds to pay the direct debit then logic would dictate that you wouldn't have the funds to pay the charge (unless the direct debit was for more then the charge i.e. £38). To rub ...

A wallet card with all the numbers on would be useful as when i broke down I did not have the relvanyt number to hand. I did not use to think it was any good until I worked out what I could save, i use to have separate mobile insurance and for car break down and holiday insurance but I have since cancelled these as a kind member of staff worked out a good saving for me.

This account is full of lots of small offers, which unless you take advantage of all of them your probably worse off. I was offered this account when I got a loan and was told by the banker she would put it on automatic cancellation after 3 months. As this would would cost me nothing and save on my loan. She didnt, It wasnt and Ive been to ask the bank twice to cancel it over the last six months (its very easy to forget about). But it is still active, I have now paid off my load and am changing ...

I'm very displeased with natwest. I wanted to open a current account with them. A sales rep offered me advantage gold even though he knew i wouldn't use any of the services. He told me to come back after 3 months and he'd refund the charges if i didn't like the account. Now i'm overdrawn by £260 and they apparently can't refund the charges even though i have never used either card.

I have been a Natwest customer for 23 years and have been a loyal customer for all those years. I purchased a house and was offered a mortgage and upgrade of my account to Advantage Gold Account as I was told by the bank representative that I could reduce my mortgage rate if I did so. I looked around at other mortgages and Natwest could not offer no where near the better offers elsewhere so I decided to go for the better offer. As I had my buildings Insurance with Natwest it was in my best in ...

I saved money on holidays booking through the Natwest Advantage Gold Bank Account travel service. The phone insurance is very good, as well as the travel insurance. So far this year I have saved over two hundred pounds on the holiday and insurance. Also, I have saved 1% on my personal loan.
You do get your fees back if you cancel within 3 months, but it would be better to get a free trial in the beginning to make sure the discount will save you money before you start to pay out. Also, not all ...

Myself and my wife were quoted for travel insurance to Australia for 28 days at £128 per person. I simply went into NatWest and asked about their insurance, and they gave me a quote of the same price. They also mentioned the Advantage Gold bank account for a fee of £150 per year. This would cover myself and my wife for traveling to Australia for up to 31 days at a time, as many times as we went in the year; saving me around £150. Also, my son has mobile insurance and I have bee ...

The NatWest Advantage Gold bank account is the biggest waste of money EVER. Do you really want to pay £12 per month for a 'Travellers Cheque Card'?! The identity theft doesn't really cover anything, and likewise the mobile phone insurance is a complete waste of time. I'm currently attempting to pay off my (minuscule) overdraft so I can finally get rid of NatWest once and for all.

I got sent a letter saying NatWest were upgrading my current account, and with it a list of benefits, which I didn't really read. I just assumed it would benefit me being upgraded. After a couple of months and noticing the monthly fee of ten pounds, and having no benefits; when I rung telephone banking with another matter they asked if I was happy. I told them my problems with the Advantage Gold Bank Account and they gave me a list of benefits; none of which are applicable to me. For example, c ...

The Advantage Gold Account is terrible!
For £10 a month I got nothing. No interest or charge free overdraft, a "Gold" credit card with a rate of about 17% and none of the "great" discounts that it was sold on.
Save 1% on a mortgage, loan or other product, but the rate is probably twice as much as other deals available elsewhere.
Save £££'s on CDs, DVDs, electrical goods, holidays, travel insurance, you name it, but again the things you can get discounts on you can buy ...
