    HSBC Basic Bank Account does exactly what it says, basic bank account for a few simple transactions per month.

    My biggest mistake was opening a basic account with HSBC. If you make three mistakes they close you down. That could be just having a direct debit come in 'early'. It doesn't matter if the amount is very small - under ten pounds - it will not be paid out but you will be penalised. If you make three 'mistakes' they close you down and you are left with no account and they give you a bad credit rating so you cannot open another basic account any where else. Those three mistakes could happen in one ...

    This account offers a card with which you can withdraw £200 daily, and thats it. Nothing else, not even if you go to branch.
