    Just to let people know that after recently ringing TCD, I was told by an agent that they are not part of Virgin Holidays but only financially backed by Virgin money. They are 2 different companies even though they use the same flights, same car hire company and in some cases same hotel accomodation which I found odd. Obviously the risk of them going bust is obviously low now because of the backing of Virgin. As an ex happy customer of the old TCD, I, however I find their new policies strange and confusing.
    I wanted to book a holiday to Orlando with TCD but wanted to use a hotel ( Best Western Lakeside) that was only available on the Virgin Holidays brochure . TCD will not book hotels that are not in both brochures which I find bizzare.
    Still TCD and Virgin`s loss is someone else`s gain. If they don`t want my business I will go to a company who do

    We've been to Florida 4 times with Travel City Direct in the past. the first time we went was about 10 years ago and they were great and were by far the cheapest.
    In recent years their prices have become slightly less competative, however the other day i thought it was about time to visit Florida again.
    So first website i go to was TCD,everybody knows what happened but now they're run by Virgin so should be OK....?

    Travelled with Travel City Direct 8 times before they collapsed in Sept 08. Was due to go again in Oct 08 but still waiting for my money back from ATOL.
    Having said all that, if they were as competitive as before would travel again with them. Never had a major problem with them and found the prices alot cheaper than other companies travelling to Forida. Always had staff available at airports and in resort. Never had a bad holiday with them.
    Glad to see Travel City back.

    In previous years Travel City Direct always went well for a budget holiday, easy to book and generally very helpful.

    They went bust and seemed to be selling holidays right up to 10 minutes before they closed their books. I am still waiting for my money 15 weeks after submitting a claim.

    Have had two brillant trips with Travel City Direct compared the new prices more expensive and less offers. Very helpful every well priced compared to all others. now owned by virgin

    i feel used and abused, i am owed a considerable amount of money, and they are allowed to go back in to business, and they are proud to announce that they are back, what a joke, wont be using them again, do you blame me

    have used travel city direct four times they were great until 2006 when the had become part of XL then the flight was rubbish not sorry to see the demise of XL but glad travel city is back understand they now fly as Virgin what a great partnership hope to use them next year

    Travel city took my money £1500 8pm that night and went bust at 12pm. I am still disgusted by that, finally got my money back yesterday. I was able to book the same one and price with Thomas cook. I used them the 4 times, we have travelled to Orlando and never had any problems, we parted on a sour taste let say.

    We were there when the towers went down and I can say they looked after us very well we were only delayed 24 hours but we were put up in a good hotel given meals taken to the airport. Other people were delayed longer than us but were left in the airport for up to 3 days waiting for a flight. Also we were there last year when the operators went bust but we got a flight on the day we should have come home and we got home 1 hour earlier than we should have.     Excellent value for money, paid to upgrade twice with them, very reasonable and well worth the money for the extras. Service and instructions all exceptionally good. Can't wait to book my next Florida holiday with them - been trying all morning to get through!

    Glad to see travel city are back, used them 8 times, now part of the virgin group so you know it's probably going to be more expensive, went to Florida in August 2008 flew on an XL A330 Airbus from the outside a big plane BUT inside was a nightmare, no leg room, seat at bulkheads, staff that didn't seem to care. So I'm not sorry to see the end of XL just hope travel city use a well known charter company for 2009.

    I go to Orlando every 2 years and my next trip is due in 2010, I was upset when they went bust as I wasn't sure how I would be able to afford to go with someone else. The got the great news that they are back, roll on 2010. Great news. Lets hope we get all the same or improved service at the same great price.

    i have traveled to Florida many times with travel city direct and found them to be one of the best tour companies out there, they have always given good info on going to Florida and things to do in Florida and even give you directions for when you get there, which if it is your first time can be very usefull, they will also give you other ideas on things to do and places to go other than the theme parks, and there is loads more to see and do. i would reccomend travel with travel city direct to a ...

    Travel City Direct take the hassle of going on holiday - book everything through them - they do the work and we just enjoy - cant be more helpful - fantastic - customer service second to none - both here and in USA.

    Great company - glad to see them back - hope they are as good as before as we will def be booking with them again.

    On the whole travelcity were great but felt let down when they went into administration because people were left high and dry with no explanation.

    Overall as ever, TravelCityDirect, excellent value for money and a great holiday and well planned. Very easy to book on line and pay or change anything. I have heard they are back in January 209, hope so, it would be good to see them Trading again. I would book with them again

    Got back to UK a week before they went into administration, we were very lucky. Glad to hear they are back , will definitely use them again. Hopefully they will go back to the Jumbo aircraft again.

    Travel City Direct. comfortable upper deck seats for reasonable price, if you are lucky enough to book them
    Rarely on time, we were delayed overnight on one journey, accommodated overnight in freezing cold units then taken to the airport for 9.30 am, them knowing our flight was not until 5 pm same day. Customer service worse than poor, disappear into woodwork if you have a problem.
    Very scepticale about using them again AND THEY STILL OWE ME SOME MONEY, from when they went into administration ...

    Overall as ever, excellent value for money and a great holiday and well planned. Very easy to book on line and pay or change anything. I have heard they are back in January 209, hope so, it would be good to see them Trading again. I would book with them again.

    We flew with Travel City 8 times in 12 years and never had a problem. Then they joined with XL. They were never the same company again. Smaller planes terrible seats no leg room. Please Travel city come back soon.
