Being one of the most competitive supermarket petrol station groups, Asda petrol prices are often seen as competitive. But are they the cheapest petrol prices in your area? Send us a review and tell us!

As a light haulage driver I use over £1000 of diesel a month, I try to fill up at the cheapest for obvious reasons, generally that's Asda, never had a problem with the fuel which is not surprising as it's the same as everywhere else. Twice in 100 or so fill ups I have had a receipt problem, I just ring the local branch & they post me a VAT receipt, a pain, but it gets sorted. Also if the pumps are not busy you can put your card into another pump within 24 hours & get a copy receipt. I note the...

I filled up with diesel at ASDA in Stafford on 6th March 2012 and my car became very sluggish and juddery. took it to a garage and it was suggested that the fuel was dirty and so have had fill up again with clean fuel and problem improved immediately. So much for their cheaper fuel - it's obviously inferior fuel and can damage your car, so be careful. I shall visit Shell or BP in future. P.S. They never seem to print receipts at these pumps...!...

Purchased diesel at the self service/unmanned station intending to buy £40 worth. As per a previous review, the pump stopped at £40.07p which was not what I intended. I didn't bother to obtain a receipt as I had no need of one. The following day I realised that the fuel guage had hardly registered the fuel having been input where it should have reflected almost half a tank. I have had to wait until today for the entry to appear on on line banking in case I had made a mistake but no, no mistake....

Yes this happened to me at Asda Great Bridge (although it is a manned self serve) I put £15 cash worth of diesel in but the gauge never moved. I never obtained a receipt. It did sound as if the fuel was going in at the time and I thought the gauge was faulty but towards the end of the week it had gone down. I filled up again (not at Asda!!) and it worked perfectly OK. I did ring the customer services but they didn't want to know. I don't know if its some sort of scam the employees are working?

I have noticed for quite some time now that if,for instance,I buy £20 of fuel, when I go to pay,the price has mysteriously risen by 1 or 2p.I am wise to this now and so,I check every time that the price has 'stabilised' before i go into the kiosk.Today,I purchased £10 of fuel.I checked after I hung up the pump and it was still £10.In the kiosk, the price had risen to £10.02.That adds up to money in Asda's till, but the equivalent fuel not being dispensed.I f that happened to...

The price may be right, but if you can reclaim the VAT the constant lack of receipts is a b----r I am fed up to the back teeth of chasing across to the store to get a receipt in one month I am short of three receipts totalling £264.02 ( 7, 10, 23 of March) thats a lot of VAT Mr Asda. But does anybody want to know - not b----y likely. The pumps tell you one is being printed but nothing appears....

They get the fuel from the same depot as every other company you morons. I've been to the fuel depot near Thurrock and seen BP, Tesco, Sainsburys etc. etc. all lined up next to each other filling the tankers up. The only thing that is different from brand to brand is the additives that get put in. The cretins banging on about their Solo card should read the small print FROM THEIR BANKS! This is a known issue with Solo cards NOT Asda petrol stations!...

I have been using Asda diesel since December 2010 last year and have noticed the stange smell from there diesel like turpintine brush cleaner not the smell I would associate with diesel. My car also is a turbo diesel and gradually I have noticed that it now gives of light coloured smoke when cold start in the mornings and running as if it were missing on one cylinder intermittent, strange for a diesel ,I think that it may be causing excessive carbon deposits ,which in turn may be causing piston rings and hydraulic valve lifters to stick hence the smoke and the running rough intermittent. There has also been a strong fuel smell like ki-gas when coming to a stop at my home on a number of occasions.I am getting increasingly concerned now about this and have made a complaing to the Asda station in Galashiels Scotland about my problem but so far not heard back from them. Is anyone else out there in Scotland or England noticed similar problems after using Asda fuel. I would be pleased to here comments from anyone else out there having similar problems after using Asda diesel fuel. Yours scincerely Mr M

To get to work I have to drive 400 miles per week at my own expense. Every time a penny goes on petrol, the nail is driven a little deeper. GOD BLESS ASDA for starting a price war, every penny they reduce is a weight off.I shall remain a loyal customer to Asda due to there petrol prices. As for some cars spluttering after reaching red line on tank, its caused by all the heavy particles that every car has in the bottom of the tank, this has nothing to do with Asda fuel!...

The pumps at this petrol station keep adding money when I let go of the pump handle. So for example I put in £20 exactly then let go of everything and about 3 or 5 seconds later it has in 5 occasions gone upto £20.01. It adds a penny. When highlighting this to the staff they reply, "The pumps have been checked by trading standards and they say they are OK" So the only way to stop this is to switch the flow of petrol off by pressing the lever on the pump, then remove the nossle...

Since the fuel price war, we changed from our local BP garage to Asda, Trafford Park. Our car has been off the road since before Christmas, after failing to start. The mechanic has been baffled by the problem & had diagnostic tests carried it, which showed that fuel wasn't getting to the injectors. On inspection of the injectors, it was discovered that the pressure valves or gauges in the injectors (not sure what they are), were all scored, suggesting contaminated fuel. This has resulted in all 4...

My hubby filled our car with a full tank of diesel as we normally do from our Asda store in Trafford Park Manchester. All seemed fine, that is until my hubby went out that evening and had to be towed home as the car wouldnt start. Our car was taken to a garage the next morning who advised there were large amounts of water in it. Its cost us over £200 to fix and we've lost £55 of diesel. Called the Asda store who were extremely rude and obvisouly didnt care, she in not so many words...

I put £10 in on Saturday 19th September & when I checked my account £20 had been removed. No warning signs are on the pumps stating that if you use a solo card double the amount of money will be taken. If my bank authorises my card before i put in petrol then therefore I have the money to fill my car up. They have no right taking the extra money from my account. I will not be using Asda Petrol station again. ...

Filled up classic motorcycle with £5 worth of unleaded petrol at Asda Great Bridge, West Midlands. Tank almost empty when filled up, ran great until put Asda petrol in! After 200 yards smoking and knocking loudly, running on one cylinder. After stripping down engine next day found nothing wrong mechanically. I have worked on and restored classic motorcycles for 40 years and so am extremely familiar with their running capability. I can only suspect petrol is the cause. Has anyone else had any...

I found this review very helpful because... I have just filled up my Audi A4 3.0s with Asda Unleaded Petrol from empty and exactly the same thing has happened. Almost immediately the engine started rattling and the car juddering, and a smell of burning coming out of the exhaust. <br/>I rang up the garage 10 minutes later, assuming they had put diesel in their Unleaded pump (I have the receipt to prove that I went for the unleaded). They said noone else had complained about the petrol so far, and it must have been a problem with my car.
<br/>Spoke to someone at BP, who explained that the supermarkets don't add any decent additives to their petrol and that you're getting the lowest quality stuff going. Definitely a false economy that I hope hasn't done any permanent damage to my engine. I'm never using Asda Petrol again, and would strongly advise anyone with a Sporty Car that takes unleaded to not go anywhere near Supermarket Petrol in future, despite what the stickers might say about it being ok...

In the beginning at Asda, if the machine had run out of receipt paper, you could put your card into another pump and it would print your receipt automatically, but not anymore, if you try another pump, it is treated as a new transaction, except it knows you have just used another pump, as the amount of petrol you can have is reduced. If your have other things on your mind (as quite frequently you may have, you're only human after all), you may not realise that you have left the pump with your account...

My local Asda in Lincoln was rebuilt a couple of years ago. Compared to the old petrol station the new one is a 500% improvement. More pumps and more space, two pay booths plus four card operated pumps. I very rarely use the pay booth, finding the 'fast lane' card operated pumps are nearly always empty, even at busy times. Have found on the few occassions that I have use the pay booths, it can be slow. They only seem to operate both pay booths at extremely busy times, so even at quiet times you...

Can anyone confirm that the ASDA petrol station pumps, until recently, all have black handles and inadequately sized signs indicating the type of fuel? A few weeks ago I put petrol in my diesel car from a black-handled pump. This mistake cost me £70. I checked the petrol station recently and noted that all the handles were black but the hoses were colour-coded. Following my written complaint I recently I noticed that all the pump handles had been changed to the correct colour and the pumps...

Asda Petrol stations were great as you could do your shopping and fill up at the same time. Now they seem to be closing them all down, probably due to the fact that it does not make them much money, as all they did was sell petrol, they didn't usually have drinks / snacks on sale. We have 3 Asda stores in a 7 mile radius, none of which now have petrol stations....
