“poor petrol value”

Written on: 15/08/2014 by Ciera (1 review written)

I only have to travel 14 miles to work every day from home. However, it seems to be using a lot of petrol. I have put in over £70 worth of petrol over the last three weeks. as my car is only a 1.1 litre engine, I find that £30 usually fills it. But when I go to Tesco, it only fills it half way. It seems to be running out so quickly and costing me a fortune. I have had the car checked for any problems and it doesn't need new spark plugs. So it has finally dawned on me that it is… Read Full Review

“Possible Dirty fuel from Tescos”

Written on: 25/03/2014 by bkwills (1 review written)

My cars never run the same on Tescos fuel... I have just had to replace the fuel filter in my wifes car after filling it with Tescos fuel. I normally use Shell in my car with no problem, if I use Tescos it always never runs smooth. The filling station is Hartlepool Tescos. I have registered a complaint and I am waiting a response… Read Full Review

“Diesel giving very low mpg”

Written on: 27/01/2014 by Jucinta (1 review written)

I have recently been using Colchester Hythe Tesco filling station . My 2012 kia eco usually gives a minimum of 49mpg round town and 65plus on long journeys. Recently it has been showing 38 mpg round town & 55 on long trips. I have taken it twice to the dealership who could find no fault. Then after filling it up at a non Tesco station the mpg suddenly returned to normal. Make of this what you will, but I won't be going back to Tesco… Read Full Review

“DO NOT BUY”

Written on: 27/12/2013 by DrTeaCup (1 review written)

I bought fuel from Tesco and my motorbike kept cutting out when it would start. I took it to a garage and was told there was a problem with the fuel, so i had the fuel drained, refilled from shell and my bike has ran perfect ever since. i have reported this matter to Tesco, they deny all responsibility for the fault with the fuel and were not helpful at all so if you are going to buy fuel say away from Tesco. It may be cheap but I will not be buying it again that's for sure… Read Full Review

Written on: 10/03/2014

good or maybe not !, to see i'm not alone, 2 days ago filled motorbike up at Tesco hythe, Colchester, within 10 miles engine started misfiring and would not tick over smoothly, being a 750 twin cylinder any fuel/fuel delivery problems quickly become apparent, given this event and historical evidence with Tesco fuels i will avoid them in future as will my family. I have drained tank and replaced with normal unleaded and bike running perfectly again

“Tesco fuel ripped me off 100 miles on full tank!!!!!!!”

Written on: 17/10/2013

Got the habit to let my fuel light lights up then fill up the tank to max, zero the trip counter reading. Fill up on 28 August at Tesco Express Winchmore Hill, I was surprised my car did 70 miles and the indicator already touch first 3/4 bar when I should do 100 miles to reach the Point where it was. Thought I'll do a servicing, but no change. What I've notice in my exhaust is throwing out black condense water instead of clear water. Don't go for the club card, just go for value for money… Read Full Review

“5p per litre off is a confidence trick!”

Written on: 17/08/2013 by arenicola (1 review written)

Spending £50 in store to get 5p a litre of fuel sounds good until you see that their base price is 3p a litre than independent garages less than 2 miles away. Tesco claim to compete on price within a 3 mile radius of their fuel stations. This is a barefaced lie!… Read Full Review

“using 5p off Tesco voucher for petrol station/shop”

Written on: 24/07/2013 by B27346 (2 reviews written)

This is regarding the 5p per litre off voucher that i was given at tescos after spending enough to be given it. to what i thought was my delight, i went to a petrol garage on the Barleymow roundabout and the man inside asked me for my clubcard. i said, "oh, is this a tescos garage?" he said "yes, as of 3 weeks ago" and took my clubcard to swipe through. i thought, great, now i know where i can use the 5p off petrol vouchers that i get from tesco. so i went there when my tank was empty and… Read Full Review

“Worst filling station for time wasters BATFORD, HARPENDEN”

Written on: 13/06/2013 by Rscratcher (1 review written)

The staff are usually very helpful but I waited nearly half an hour due to a car that parked in front of the pump, took no petrol then spent ages doing her shopping. I and everyone behind me were trapped for 25 minutes. I have since noticed that others are regularly doing this even though there are parking spaces and a public car park on the other side of the road. The staff seem disinterested in the problem if you complain. Avoid it if you can… Read Full Review

“TESCO PETROL STATION - QUEDGELEY, GLOUCESTER - FAIRLY GOOD”

Written on: 02/06/2013 by johnwataboy (11 reviews written)

I VISIT TESCO PETROL STATION AT QUEDGELEY, NORMALLY ONCE PER WEEK, EVERY WEEK TO FILL UP WITH DIESEL, AND HAVE FOUND THE STANDARD OF SERVICE TO BE FAIRLY GOOD. THEY HAVE APPROXIMATELY 5 LANES TO CHOOSE FROM WITH 2 PUMPS IN EACH LANE TO PULL UP AT AND DRAWER FUEL FROM, WITH EACH PUMP OFFERING A SELECTION OF 3 FUELS, SUCH AS DIESEL, UNLEADED PETROL, AND SUPER ADDITIVE PETROL. DRIVERS NORMALLY CHOOSE WHICH LANE TO TAKE, ACCORDING TO WHICH SIDE OF THEIR VEHICLE THE FILLER CAP IS. THE PAY KIOSK… Read Full Review

“Tesco fuel - Engine management light”

Written on: 17/05/2013

4 Years ago I owned a Renault clio 1.2 that until I filled up at my local Tesco garage had had 0 issues at all. Flew through its services & MOTS fine, started everytime no trouble and was a great run around while at uni. Usually I filled up at the shell garage in town but was running low so quickly popped into the Tesco close by. Within a few miles of leaving the forecourt my engine management light came on and the car just shut down. Engine wouldn't even turn over. After calling out the RAC… Read Full Review

“Tesco petrol station”

Written on: 22/04/2013 by Essexbigboy (1 review written)

I have always used Tesco fuel in all 4 of our vehicles, my van suffered water in the diesel in march 2013 and cost me just under £100 to have a new fuel filter fitted and lines blown out at my local garage. I wrote to Tesco customer services and enclosed all the details and had a reply which just fobbed me off by saying that they had not had any other complaints, but there seems there are plenty on here. Also they said they could reassure me that they have procedures in place to stop the wrong… Read Full Review

“poor tescos diesel”

Written on: 17/04/2013 by Deanocop1 (1 review written)

I have always used Tescos diesel on my Peugeot 207 since I had the vehicle from new. On 28/3/13 the vehicles engine management light came on and I took it to the dealer. Fault was contanminated fuel requiring a new pump and the system drained for the cost of £251.98. Apparantly it is well known among car dealers that supermarket fuel does not contain additives which is why its cheaper. Tescos Customer Services have been contacted but even though I can prove that I have only ever used their… Read Full Review

“Tesco Basingstoke”

Consistently he most expensive of every petrol station in Basingstoke (normally by 2p a litre) and consistently more expensive than other towns within a 20 mile drive.
