Good Points: This board was cheap, it cost about £50 in the UK. It has had no problem's what so ever. As a standard mainboard it is realy good for general computer use. In my tower I have easy acsess to service the computer,

Bad Points: Bad point's? None realy but the Bios battery port? Sticking out from the board, do not like that idea.

General comments: I have had this motherboard for a few year,s now. I have just updated the bios via HP website, although even without the update it was good. I have had no problem's with this board. Most of the hardware update's for this board are available from the HP website and they have an online scan to detect what drive's are needed. I did just have to buy a bios battery yesterday, so now my time and date are correct on each boot. The battery only cost £2 in the UK.. It take's upto 2 GIG of RAM so with general net surfing and downloading upgrade the Ram to at least 1 GIG and your PC will run a lot faster and smoother. Sturdy mainboard and if taken care of and kept clean will give you a few good year's of a decent 64 bit pc.

I bought an ASUS A7N8X motherboard and I had a problem with the BIOS after a few months, but my local computer shop downloaded an update and sorted out the problem. Unfortunately after reformatting the Hard Disk Drive and wiping it clean, I now can't get the system to reload the operating system (XP Pro). I keep getting the error message... (VNETBIOS.VXE). Can anyone help and tell me how I can sort it out? Thanks

Fault has arisen after only 6 months: "System Failed CPU Test" repeats continuously. Therefore, I now cannot use any application requiring sound. Now looking for a new motherboard. £100 down the drain! From researching on the internet, this is a relatively common fault. Stay away from this MB!

This Asus A7N8X Motherboard ROCKS all you need is an AMD 2500xp CPU and set the BIOS up to 400 Mhz front side bus and the CPU runs at 3200 Mhz thats a saving of £100 take it from me i have used this MB to build alot of PCs and it runs very very fast! and for £50-£60 its the overclockers choice (at the moment) (Andy I.T.Pro)

Of all the PCs that I have assembled, the Asus A7N8X one was the easiest. The processor installed easily and the intelligence on the board was great leaving out the need to search and set jumpers. Operates very fast - used to calculate FFTs and does so effortlessly in real time.
