Good Points: It works great for the first 3 months.

Bad Points: After 3 months of using the camera maybe once a week it stopped playing tapes or recording.

General comments: I can still record onto a memory stick but I can't play back any tapes. I was very happy with this product until it stopped working. I looked up the error which it gave me which was c:31:11 and found forum after forum of people who had the same exact problem that I had. This product works for a few months then dies and it cost several hundreds of dollars to have it fixed.

I bought this Sony DCR-TRV33 digital camcorder hoping to put all the videos on video CDs (less space, better quality than video cassetes).
If you think it's easy to create Video CDs you are wrong (just a click of the mouse as they advertise). The output digital video signal has a resolution of 320x210 which is way too little for a good VideoCD quality.
So, you would need a video capture board (a good one is around 100USD) in order to be able to have a decent video CD.
